Limits 234 Complete Defea

Roland was in deep shit, speaking frankly. I had no hope for him, whatsoever. His opponent, was not only strong, he was experienced. I still watched the battle, I could always learn something, about my future opponent. Besides, I still had to heal Roland up, after the fight. I already made a deal with him. Roland also had enough courage, to stand on that platform, and go against an opponent, he would have no chances against. This in itself, demanded some respect.

The battle began. This time, Roland kept his distance. Gornak had different ideas though. Although he was a Golem, his speed was nothing to scoff at. He wasn't as fast as me, or Roland, but still. His strength was greater, than both of us combined probably. Roland tried to test the grounds with simple attacks, but the Golem didn't even evade them. Roland couldn't even damage the Golem, with normal attacks. 'This guy is like a walking fortress. My freezing power might work on him, but I don't know to what extent' I thought.

Roland, was now mostly evading the attacks of the Golem. Even when he tried his most powerful skill, the Golem just blocked it. Soon, Roland's energy started to fade, and he got hit. The strike was so powerful, if not for the sword Roland had on him, he would be smashed to death. He flew outside of the platform, and landed with a grunt. 'I expected as much. He had no way of winning against such opponent' I thought, and walked over to Roland.

His hands were broken from the impact, his ribs didn't look good either. Other than that, he was in decent shape, when considering the fact, he just fought against such an opponent. I picked him up, and took him away with me. This was the last match of that day, so I was free to go, a long time ago. I brought Roland to my room, and treated his wounds. When I was done, I said to myself "I will have to face three strong opponents tomorrow. I have an idea, who those two of the three opponents will be". I waited for Roland to wake up, and when he finally did, I asked "How do you feel?".

He said "Like shit, obviously. Thanks for stitching me up though". I replied "I promised you". He thought about something for a while, then said "You are a good guy, so I will give you an honest advice, like to a friend. Give up the fight, if you think its too much. You can lose a lot, if you are stubborn". I nodded my head, and said "I don't want to lose my limbs either, but I also want a challenge. We will see tomorrow". When Roland's wounds were taken care of, and he was able to move, I told him to leave. I needed some rest, and prepare myself for the next day.

As he exited my room, he said "I will be watching tomorrow. If anything, I can always bring you some medicine, when you finally lose, Don't overdo it". I went back to my room, and sat on the bed. 'I will have to face three opponents tomorrow. Two of them I know. The Golem Gornak will be one of my opponents probably, as well as the Razor guy, who broke couple of Olia limbs. I just don't know, who will be the third opponent' I thought.

I could've been wrong as well. The Golem might just take his reward, and leave. The same could happen with that Razor guy, but I had a bad feeling about tomorrow. With that in mind, I called out "Frosty… are you there?". Frosty transformed into the corporeal form, and appeared in front of me. 'What the...?' I thought, when I saw Frosty.

Frosty changed throughout the time, I haven't seen it. It was now bigger, and its colour changed to that of a deeper blue. It also had two small horn sticking out of its head. Frosty saw the amazement on my face, and seemed proud of it. I said "It's good that you developed. I might need to use your help, with the ice power. The opponents I'm going to face tomorrow, will be very powerful, so spare nothing alright?". Frosty nodded and climbed on top of my shoulder. It was a bit heavier, compared to the past, but also more grown up.

'Frosty's behaviour was kind of childish in the past. Now, it seems calm, collected and more adult, not only with its body, but also with its mind' I thought. Frosty nudged me, as I was lost in my thoughts, and seemed to want something. I passed it the paper and some coal, that I shaped into a stick. After a while, Frosty wrote that I shouldn't worry, and that we can win. It wrote that with the improved freezing powers, we can freeze almost anyone, who didn't break through the Inner Limits.

I was a bit shocked, and asked "How come, you are so confident?". Frosty wrote that, together with my basic ability to freeze stuff, and Frosty's improved powers, we shouldn't be scared of single enemies. 'I wonder where does Frosty's confidence comes from. Whatever, we will find out tomorrow' I thought, and said "It's time to rest. Tomorrow, when I need your help, I will call out quietly, alright?". Frosty nodded, and changed back into the tattoo.

The next day, I went straight to the Fighting Platform, and awaited my next fight. 'Let's see who my first opponent is. If it's that Golem, I can only try and freeze him, if its someone else, I might try out something else. I can't reveal my identity though' I thought. I didn't have to wait long, for the announcer to start blabbering about how great the Arena was, and so on.

After his usual monologue, he announced "Ladies and gentlemen! Only one warrior is left! He has three battles ahead of him, can he succeed?! Or will he fall, like his teammates?! We will find out soon! The next battle, will be between our warrior Dark Traveller, and the Great Potarius!". I had no idea who that Potarius guy was, but I was sure, the cheers were not for me. The crowd pretty much erupted, when they heard that name. 'This can only mean, he is famous here. Let's see who this is first, then we can decide the course of actions' I thought, and stepped onto the platform.
