Robin answered her bow with one of her own. "I am Robin and this is QJ, the Vice Commander of our guild."

QJ glanced around her cabin, it was fairly luxurious compared to the rest of the ship. "Is this ship affiliated with any factions?"

Kai shook her head. "No, I don't have a fleet and single vessels like us aren't really important enough to warrant such attention."

QJ finished off the fish quickly, "When you say us you mean?"

"The freelancer Captains like myself." The Katar woman ate her food slowly as if to savor each bite.

Kai leaned forward and lowered her voice, "you're the Water King?"

Robin glanced at the door, a moment later she blurred toward it and jerked it open. A knife stabbed at her from the doorway. She easily moved to one side and grabbed the culprit before dragging him inside. She smiled at QJ, "he's been there the whole time, listening."

A small wiry man with bad teeth and stringy brown hair struggled in the rogue's grip. She held him easily off the ground, a dangerous glint in her eyes.

QJ didn't bother to get up from his chair, "Is he part of your crew?"

Kai nodded, "we picked him up for this trip since we were short-handed. He's working for passage."

QJ leaned back in his chair, "listening in at the door probably means he's up to no good."

The captain opened the porthole next to the table. It was slightly larger than most and definitely big enough for a small person to fit through. "Up to you."

QJ gestured toward the round window. "Let the sea have him Robs."

A short scream followed by a loud splash and the three resumed their dinner. QJ had lost his appetite but wanted to know the captain's answer.

"What kind of benefits are you offering?"

"Three sloops, you'll be responsible for finding crews for them."

"Will you offer the other Free Lancers the same deal?"

QJ nodded, "yes, unless you find fault with any of them."

"Anything else?"

"I'll mount weapons on them that will give you the seas." QJ considered the different items he brought with him. "I'll need to set up a workshop when we get to port so I can design a prototype cannon."

QJ logged off decided to grab a quick shower before seeing who was around. Half an hour later he was feeling human again so he walked into the kitchen area. Wu and Nina were chatting over sandwiches.

"Heya guys." QJ walked past the kitchen island and opened the fridge, "whose chicken is this?"

"That's mine, help yourself QJ." Nina smiled at him, "you going to hang around tonight? We could scare up a card game or something.

"Thanks." QJ grabbed the chicken and sat down. "I told Robin I'd keep her company since just about everyone will be logged off.

"Lotte, Sato and Breeze are in the pool, in case you are interested." Wu waited for Nina to look away then he motioned with his eyes for QJ to go somewhere else.

QJ kept a straight face, "Really? I've been wanting to talk to Sato about some stuff."

He finished off the chicken and then cleaned up after himself before leaving. He stopped at the door and looked back. "Thanks for the chicken, Nina."

"Welcome QJ."

Lotte waved him over when he walked out of the house, she was sitting at the side of the pool with her feet in the water. Sato and Breeze were in the pool hitting a large beach ball.

"Let's get QJ's take on his!" Sato caught the ball and stared at him expectantly.

Breeze swam to the side of the pool, a big smile on her face. "We have a question for you QJ."

Lotte nudged him under the water with her leg.

QJ put on a serious face, 'Let's have it then."

Sato grinned and paddled over, using the ball for a flotation device. "Is Virtual Sex better than the real thing?"

QJ shrugged, "how would I know that?"

Breeze lowered her voice a bit, "Come on QJ, it's just us. Those blue eyes and your wit, girls fall over themselves."

QJ and Breeze glanced at each other and then both started laughing.

Breeze took the ball from his hands. "Of course she did."

QJ nodded in agreement. "I'm surprised she didn't stab you."

Lotte shrugged slightly, "you're cute enough Sato... A bit on the dorky side."

"Oh god..." Sato slowly sunk beneath the pool.

Lotte slid an arm through QJ's. "We should port tomorrow morning right? Do you know anything about the city where we will be docking?"

"Wu said it was called Leto, it isn't the biggest in the Basara Continent, but it falls under the jurisdiction of the Jesu tribe. With any luck, we'll be able to gather allies quickly."

Robin leaned on the rail of the ship, her orange hair was down and blowing freely in the ocean breeze. QJ's family had asked her to protect a foreign woman. It was the first time Tal, Leah and Mojo had openly accepted her. It had been somewhat awkward for her, but also very nice.

She turned in his embrace, wrapping her arms around his neck before accepting a kiss. "I saw a good spot earlier, near the forward mast."
