Chapter 11: Massacre under the moonlight.
Another portal had just opened in the middle of Whisperwood forest with the warlock's head ripped off. Cedrick entered the big building. The sorceress was sitting in the big hall enjoying tea when he walked in.

"The plan is going well. Cole has put his daughter under house arrest. Areida has found dead and it won't be long before Claressa gets fed up of everything", he informed her.

"Thank you, Cedrick, for your loyalty. Once all our plans are accomplished, you will be rewarded greatly".

"Thank you, sorceress".

Cynthia smiled. “No need to call me that. You have been working with me for so long. Just call me Cynthia. So, thank you..."

"Thank you, sorcere..."

"Cynthia"

"Thank you, Cynthia".

"Wonderful! Now, let's go and meet the others".

Cynthia guided Cedrick to a huge balcony on the floor where she was staying. It was overlooking a courtyard of more than 50 witches.
"My dear friends, we would soon get out of here. All we have to do is wait. Once my plan falls through, we would be out of this forest forever".
All the witches were delighted to hear that.

Meanwhile,
In Claressa's room, she was getting restless every minute. She was angry at her father and brother and hoped that her mother was alright. Her friends had tried to visit her but she didn't allow them.
Before long, anger replaced restlessness. All she could think of was blood and revenge. Then she went limp. When her eyes opened, they were golden yellow. The two abilities that she hadn't mastered- fox and werewolf- had taken over.

In Nemorosa, hybrids were not very common. The ones that they had were placed under tight scrutiny and were constantly told to put their
emotions under control. This was because once they failed to control their emotions, the abilities they hadn't been able to master fully would take control over them. They were able to master their abilities one by one, so this was really hard for them. Nevertheless, they were still held in high regard as they had more than one ability.

Claressa went to the door of her room (she was being controlled at this point) and yanked open the door. The guards at the door tried to tell her to go back inside but she killed them. She heard sounds coming from above and she went towards the sound.

In the council room,
The royal council was deciding what to do about Claressa's unruly behavior.

"Let's marry her off", the king said. “The first son of Azurethra seems to be good choice".

"Are you sure about this, Your Majesty?", Cedrick asked. He was told to keep her here so this would naturally unsettle him.

"What about it, Cedrick? If we marry her off, not only do we have her off our hands but I'm sure the kingdom of Azurethra will welcome her as
well", the king insisted.

The council members were shocked that he proposing marriage. His daughter just died and he was proposing marriage for his second
daughter. Had their king really changed just like Claressa had said?

At this moment, Claressa was standing at the doorway of the council room. When she got there, the abilities dulled their effect on her, so that she could listen and get angrier. Abilities such as the creature- type abilities that weren't controlled often fed off the worst emotions.

Claressa was asking herself how she got to the council room and was about to turn away when she heard all that was being said inside. Tears started to form in her eyes and she entered the room.

The council was shocked. She broke down on the floor with tears in eyes. “With all you've said, I've turned to a liability. Take me off your
hands, huh? That's what I've turned to? A commodity?!", she shouted.

She stood and her eyes changed color instantly. The abilities were back in control. She sped out of there but everyone had already seen her eye color. The king shouted, “Sound the warning bell! The princess has gone wild!". But she already long gone.

On the outskirts of a non- shifter community of Moonhaven, Claressa stood there. The full moon was out and the fox gave way to the wolf. The sound of cracking bones and eerie screams were soon heard in the small community. The whole village was killed. And Claressa fainted at the end of it all.
