Book of Divine Creatures 2 Chapter 2

After packing a few clothes into a small backpack, I cleaned up the room and tidy up everything that has been scattering around especially the pills that the previous Li Jin used. Just thinking how he died, I have to only shake my head in disappointment. The previous Li Jin was driven to despair which leads him to suicide. It was a very common story back on Earth but I guess, this kind of actions are very rare here on Gaea. There are a few pills below the bed which is spilled from a bottle that fell in the ground. Cleaning and picking up the pills is imperative to avoid being suspected by my aunt once she took the house's ownership. If she knew that the first Li Jin died in overdose, she might question me who am I who is currently residing inside this body.

As I pick a few pieces of pills, I noticed that there was a book under the bed. From what I can see, it looks quite thick. I checked the memories of the first Li Jin to find what book is it but to my surprise, there was no memory on this book ad how it got under the bed. As what they say, curiosity kills the cat, I quickly pull the book out of the bed and to my surprise, I saw a very thick and large book. In my estimation, the book looks like it contained around 10,000 to 50,000 pages. It was very thick and a normal dictionary and encyclopedia that are present on Earth is not even comparable to this.

The book looks ancient and weird. It has a few intricate patterns on the cover with a hardcover colored blue and red which is divided on each sides. The letters on the book was not English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean or any kind of letters that humans used on Earth. But for some reason, I can read the letters.

"Book of Divine Creatures"

Divine Creatures? Those are the companions of most humans now right? The knowledge that intigrated from the first Li Jin is very limited and only a few known Divine Creatures are present on his mind. I opened the book so that I can gain the knowledge this world has.

To my disappointment, the book was never a book that tells about Divine Creatures, more like Book with Blank Pages! I skimmed through the whole book but there was not a single thing present on this book. Just as I was about to reach the very last page, my forefinger got wounded as the pages of the book pricked it, causing my blood to escape the wound.

"Ah, crap," I muttered when the blood from my wound fell from the book's pages and it dyed the page red.

As I was about to close the book and put it on my backpack, my head hurts all of a sudden and the book in my hands shuddered.

"Sh*t, is this the side effects of the pills?!" I muttered as I hold the temple of my head due to the unbearable pain I am currently experiencing. Due to the pain, I felt weak once again before I lose my consciousness again....

What was that? What Keeper? I slowly opened my eyes and I saw that I was no longer inside the room of the previous Li Jin but instead in a white space. Purely white, not a single tree or building on the horizon. I scratched my head and a single question pops up on my mind...

Where am I?

"Hello?" my voice echoed on the white space and as soon as those words escaped my lips, the voice of a woman appeared out of nowhere and speaks loudly like it reverberated to the whole place.

"CONFIRMING KEEPER...

SUCCESSFUL...

KEEPER IS NOW CONSCIOUS, DEPLOYING THE QUEST SYSTEM AND SHOP SYSTEM AT ONCE."

As I was looking around finding the source of the voice, a new building appeared on my view or to be exact, it was a shack-like shop. I approached the shack and as I was almost on its vicinity, a panel appeared out of nowhere with words imprinted.

"SHOP"

"ENTER SHACK"

"QUESTS"

"EXIT THE POCKET DIMENSION"

Only those words appeared on the panel, nothing else. As I read them one by one, I see the fourth option, "EXIT THE POCKET DIMENSION"

"This is a pocket dimension huh?" I rubbed my glabella as I was not used to this.

I might have read novels, played games and also watched anime but I never knew that this would happen in my lifetime. Still, I am not enthusiastic. I am not some sort of fanatic by this kind of stuff but if it can help me in this world to live, might as well use it.

First, familiarize on the shop.

I clicked shop and a selection appeared.

"HABITATS"

"MISCELLANEOUS"

"BOOKS"

I don't know what they are actually selling

since they are all grayed out. It might be normal since I can see that I have zero pearls. Pearls might be the currency in this shop.

I exited on the shop since they are not yet possible to investigate for now. I clicked the "ENTER SHACK" and the panel disappeared, allowing me to interact with the shack.

The shack was not shabby at all. It is like the normal shack with a few items that are necessary for comfort inside the shack. Bed, refrigerator, a table, a chair, and a few decorations. There are also a few tools for gardening like shovel, watering can, hoe, and something for mining which is the pickaxe. I am guessing that these will be useful once I get to check and interact with the shop. I opened the refrigerator and saw that it was functioning. I wondered if there is an electricity connection here to use other electrtonics stuff here. I didn't bother on it too much and exit the shack to check the third option which is "QUESTS."

Similar to games, this quest is a subtask or a main task that is usually assigned. Since this is a quest board, there is a big possibility that I already have a quest on it. Checking it, I have two quest available for me to fulfill.

1.REGISTER 10 DIVINE CREATURES ON THE COMPENDIUM.

DESCRIPTION: SLAM THE BOOK TO THE CREATURE TO REGISTER THEIR INFORMATION TO THE BOOK.

REWARD: 1000 PEARLS

2.TAME A DIVINE CREATURE

DESCRIPTION: USE YOUR ABILITY TO TAME ONE.

REWARD: HABITAT OF THE TAMED CREATURE AND THE STARTING FOOD PURCHASED FOR FREE ONE TIME.

100 PEARLS

The first quest is easy but the second one might be hard, since I have not gained the ability to gain my own domain, taming one would be hard. Looks like I have to choose a weaker Divine Creature to tame.

After checking everything, nothing else is left for me to check, therefore exiting the place is the only thing feasible thing left for me to do.

Woah, that was quick, after clicking the exit button, it just took me a blink of an eye before I returned. Also, a bit of a few knowledge appeared on my mind. I am not that excited but still tried to use it. I held out my hand and said the passcode.

"Book"

The book of divine creatures appeared in my hands. Seeing it work, I can now use t for the first quest. I can call or store the book out of my own will. I stored the book back. With everything done, I finalized everything. I also realized that the world's time while I was inside the Pocket dimension didn't pass a single second.

I finalized everything and pack out my things. Leaving the house now is the only thing to do before I get to interact with my aunt. I picked up a kitchen knife as my weapon. I have no intention living in this town. I should go to the city and find a job there.

I looked at the house one last time before leaving. The emotion of the previous Li Jin is important but I have no choice. I won't be progressing if I stayed inside the house and never looked for a job.

First task should be passing the forest and find my first Divine Creature to tame first. I really don't know what Divine Creature is better for me but still I am calm. Everything would be okay.

With the town still beginning to get lively, people have not noticed that I have already arrived from the entrance. My first stop for now would be the cemetery where mom and dad were buried. Even if it was not my real mother and father if you think about it, as the person living inside their son's body, I should properly give tribute at them first.

I look at the town where this Li Jin grow up. Now is the time to mature and leave the place. I will find my new life in the city...
