Black-bellied Movie Emperor's Clever Wife Chapter 5 part8

In the play, Kang Xi plays a royal bastard who took the throne of the emperor step by step. His ancient costume has always been a fan favorite.

With the light as elegant and misty at this moment, his black hair tied with purple ribbons coupled with a purple robe, his whole picture resembles a jaded man carved out flawlessly, more like a cool moonflower that's blooming proudly and timelessly emits a power of a man standing over the whole world.

Underneath, some actresses are fascinated by the painting. They obviously didn't come here just for their roles, but to join in the hub hub, soon a crowd gathered around. 

In the drama, there's a concubine selection scene. The director pointed to the extras on one side and asked Kang Xi to choose who he wants to be his consort.

Kang Xi felt that this was fine since he wasn't picking his real wife. He scanned the women, all with two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. There was no difference at all. Seeing that the director wasn't about to stop from his incessant chatter, he was forced to take a closer look at the actresses….

The actresses all had makeup on and garbed in brightly colored ancient dresses. Their hair is coiled up into buns, with beads of green jade dangling. Their girdle ornaments jingled as they tried their hardest to show off. Xiaoxiao happened to have been squeezed in this crowd. With her black trench coat and tiny stature, she looked particularly dazzling.

Kang Xi's eyes were cloudy, but they brightened exactly the same way whenever his father saw her mother back then.

A small face buried deep in his memory overlapped with hers at this moment, a palm-sized face as smooth as porcelain. It's just that her small round eyes before are now apricots, but the outlines of her nose and lips remained the same.

In an instant, the turbidity in his eyes thickened. “Director, wait a minute, let me appoint the empress first!”

“Huh?” The director flipped through the script. “Empress appointment? Where is that part? There is no such scene.”

Xiaoxiao could hardly stand. The noise piercing her ears plunged her to an unspeakable tension.

She squeezed out of the crowd, found an open space and took gulps of air. She covered her ears to calm herself, but the confusion and buzz in her head lingered.

Kang Xi followed behind her and wanted to pat her shoulder to say hello.

Sensing the presence behind her, Xiaoxiao's nerves were strained to the limits. So when Kang Xi reached out, her body reflexively determined that it was an enemy's attack. She grabbed Kang Xi's elbow, cut in quickly, and using her back, she flung him over her shoulder in defense.

This was commonly known as the shoulder throw.

The shoulder throw doesn't require much power,  because judo is all about weights. The weight of the person thrown over the shoulder however is a different matter. 

Kang Xi only felt the heaven and earth spinning, followed by the pain that spread from his limbs to his whole body when he hit the ground heavily. His vision suddenly turned black and saw nothing at all. 

He has always been the focus of attention, so when he walked away, all eyes followed him and also witnessed the whole scene unfolding. The closest to the disquieting scene was the wind master, whose finger slipped into the power switch of a giant electric fan. The wind blew instantly, sweeping Xiaoxiao's slithering black hair behind and exposing her stunning murderous little face.

Geng Bumei was sitting in Kang Xi's exclusive actor's lounge chair drinking tea. Because there was a dinner at night, he was going to participate with Kang Xi and was waiting on the set. When Kang Xi came out from the inside, his eyes followed him habitually. Naturally, he also saw this shocking scene, and the tea he just sipped sprayed out on the spot.

He couldn't believe his eyes. A petite girl actually threw out Kang Xi, a man with a height of 188 cm and a weight of 80 kg, single handedly!

Kang Xi lay on the ground for a long time and did not get up. Geng Bumei knelt on the ground anxiously and shouted, “Kang Xi, how are you? Wake up!”

Kang Xi remained silent. Geng Bumei wasn't surprised. He rolled up his sleeves, patted his face, but when he still did not respond, his anxiety drove him into hollering at the top of his lungs, "Your Majesty! Wake up!"

Your Majesty is Kang Xi's nickname. Everyone present is well aware of it so there was no surprise.

On the contrary, a new extra was also in the crowd. As it was his first time acting and playing a eunuch role, he was extremely nervous. His eyes were tightly shut, and repeatedly recited his lines silently. He heard Geng Bumei's shout, which was exactly the trigger for his own lines. 

His tension got the best of him. He opened his throat and shouted in response, "His Majesty is indisposed!"

The entire scene fell into chaos at once.

On the other side, the producer of the show, Qi Lihua was also there. She was first stunned, but after seeing Xiaoxiao's face, her whole person jerked and trembled like crazy. Her young secretary beside her watched apprehensively.

Qi Lihua pinched the young secretary's hand for a while, “Did you see that  painting, the art is totally flawless!”

Qi Lihua is a well-known producer in China. She too has worked with Kang Xi many times. But the most stressful part of every shooting is someone always telling her that the heroine isn't beautiful enough to stand beside Kang Xi on the same stage. This problem has always been munching at her heart day and night.

Now, she has finally found a painting comparable to Kang Xi. 

“Who is that girl?” She asked, clutching her secretary's hand. 

"I don't know. She doesn't look like someone in our circle."

Qi Lihua reacted quickly and hurriedly sprinted towards the now impatient Xiaoxiao. She must not let her target get away. 

Faster than Qi Lihua was An Hui. She is different from everyone. She's horrified at the fact that Xiaoxiao erupted. She's done for! She had beaten Kang Xi!

While everyone else was paying attention to Kang Xi, she ran as fast as she could, hugged Xiaoxiao out of the crowd and pushed her directly to her assistant at the door, "Hurry to the airport and take her back. You can't use the crew's car, take a taxi.”

Her assistant dared not ask why at the sight of her anxiety, and quickly escorted Xiaoxiao to the airport.

Inside, Kang Xi finally woke up and looked around without seeing Xiaoxiao. His face turned instantly black, making everyone shudder.
