Saving a Life

Xu Jiaojiao guessed that Qi Shenbai had agreed to her request largely because of her brother, Xu Zhengyang. Hence, she smiled gratefully at Pei Yan's reminder. “Thank you.”

Pei Yan glanced at the butler of Qingshui Villa. The butler understood and gestured for her to follow him. “Miss Xu, please follow me.”

Xu Jiaojiao followed the butler to the second floor. Recalling her deal with Qi Shenbai, she stopped Pei Yan, who was about to leave, and asked, “Um, about… Miss Qi…”

Pei Yan stopped in his tracks. He first glanced at the butler and replied concisely, “Someone will pick you up tomorrow.”

Xu Jiaojiao understood and stopped talking.

The driver drove Xu Jiaojiao to a private hospital in Luo City. The driver sent her all the way to the ward before leaving. Pei Yan was already standing guard at the door. When he saw her, he gestured for her to enter.

When Xu Jiaojiao walked into the ward, the first thing she saw was Qi Shenbai's back. He was sitting on the edge of the bed. He was only wearing a white shirt without a jacket. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing his good-looking wrists. He was wiping the face of the girl lying on the bed. After he was done, he handed the towel to the nurse beside him before turning to Xu Jiaojiao.

As Qi Shenbai got up, Xu Jiaojiao finally saw the real face of the girl on the bed. She looked like she was 17 or 18 years old, and her features were somewhat similar to Qi Shenbai's. She was Qi Shenbai's younger sister, Qi Yunduo.

Half a year ago, Qi Yunduo had nearly drowned. Although she was saved in time and her life was out of danger, she had been unconscious ever since. Qi Shenbai had invited countless experts, but there was nothing they could do.

Qi Shenbai looked at Xu Jiaojiao. He was very curious to see what this girl could possibly do to save Yunduo.
