This is a short story and when I say short, I mean real short. Its a short story about loving a girl from afar. I know, the synopsis are boring, but you can only say so much in a short story before giving everything away.

Chapter 1
When I Saw You 2 Blew i
I slumped against the couch in a defeated manner. Actually, who doesn't slump against the couch in a defeated manner? If life just defeated you, of course you'll slump in a defeated manner....

"What now?" my friend asked in annoyance. He wasn't there to see my flustered self. When I tried my best to confess to her. My gosh I was stuttering left and right! I bet she thinks I'm retarded or something.

"I blew it!" I shouted frustration, tossing a pillow across the room. I did my best to hit him, hitting him usually relieves some of my frustration. Though it doesn't helps if it doesn't hit the target.

"You know, I'm never having a crush," he said, picking up the pillow and holding it to his chest. I decided to throw another one at him, this one he didn't pick up, but it didn't hit him either.

"Do whatever you want to do," I replied, staring at the ceiling. The energy that required me to toss the pillow across the room accompanied the pillow on its journey and I now felt empty, unfeeling.

"It's ruining your life! You're not the person you were, she's the only thing on your mind these days,"he grumbled.

"Do you believe in love at first sight?" I asked, the question tumbled out from an unknown source, to be heard by those who wished to listen. It was a question almost everyone asked, a question that should be answered with a "no" for if you say "yes" you were labeled foolish and fanciful, unrealistic. Like saying, I believe the Earth is flat.

"No," my friend answered as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. It was like asking him, are oranges yellow?

"Why not?"

"Well....." he paused for a second and I thought, 'well, it's because it's what you were taught to say.'

"To love at first sight is to love their appearance, not who they are," he finally answered. I mentally rolled my eyes at him, that's what they all said.

"Are you sure about that?" I probed, looking straight into his eyes, searching for what he truly thought.

My gaze seemed to unnerve him as he stuttered his answer out, "W-why wouldn't I be?"

"It's not just their appearance," I lectured, "there are millions of celebrities, models, actors, etc. out there, and yet to fall in love with a single person. Appearance may have something to do with it, but there is so much more to it," I said, my voice getting softer as I continued.

"Says the person who can't even confess to his crush," my friend muttered.

"Ha! Confess? I can't even talk to her straight in the face! Get me a snicker," I told him.

"I'm not your servant," he muttered as his feet carried him to the pantry.

"Also, I heard that your crush is going to be at Bob's party!" he said, snickering when he said Bob. How he looks down on such a common name, but it's what's common that keeps our society functioning.

"Why didn't you tell me!"

The snicker arced over the wide ocean floor, graceful like a ballerina.

"Get a snicker man!"

-----------------------------------------

Also, don't look down on the name Bob.

I searched it up, Bob means Famed, bright; shining. And it's German, you don't ever look down of German names.
