I was at home waiting for my brother to come home from school while I was watching TV. It was his first day in 4th grade so I was excited to hear how his day was. I waited at least 20 minutes after his normal time to come home. "I wonder where he is." Then I got a phone call from a unknown number but I felt like I seen it before. I picked up the phone. "congratulations! you won a brand new car for your-" I hung up "I knew it! Its one of those stupid sales men trying to scam me again. Who do they think I am! This is the 2nd time today!" About 3 minutes later I got a call from another unknown number but it was different. Me being the impatient person I am picks up the phone and starts yelling. "LOOK I DONT WANT YOUR STUPID CAR, OKAY! IM JUST TRYING TO WAIT FOR MY BROTHER TO COME HOME WHILE IM WATCHING TV! I DONT HAVE TIME FOR-" The person on the other line says "This is Lia correct? Well I called to tell you..." there was a awkward pause for a moment then they carried on "Your Brother has been hit by a car by the intersection on main street on his way from school. I was-" I quickly hung up without checking for anything else then ran out the house without shoes. I was running down the sidewalk wondering how he got hit, I always told him to look both ways twice before he crossed. Especially when he was coming back from school. I ran faster while I was crying so my vision got a little blurry from the tears so I might have stepped on a piece of glass on the way but it still didn't stop me from running. I could imagine people staring at me because I was a 13 year old girl running without shoes probably with a bloody foot print every time I took a step but that was not my concern right now. I was just hoping my brother was not hurt too badly. But based on the tone of the person on the phones voice it sounded like he wasn't doing so well. By then I could see a crowd. That's no mistake, it's the one. I ran cutting through trying not to be noticed much. There was tape surrounding the area but I was in front and could see my brothers back. "BROTHER!" I ducked under the yellow tape running toward my brother. I noticed a police guy just watched me while I ran toward him "Leo are you ok! Leo!" a police man was behind me "Listen little girl I need you back behind the tape and get away from the boy." I turned my head and glared at the man "No you dont tell me to listen, you listen to me. My brother is all I have left and he is the most sweetest boy ever. I DONT WANT HIM TO DIE OKAY! HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF THE ONLY PERSON YOU HAVE LEFT DIED! SO DONT YOU DARE TELL ME TO GET AWAY FROM MY OWN BROTHER!" The police man glared at me and I glared back then he walked away. "L-Lia..." It was my brother. "Leo! Are you okay! I thought I told you to always look twice before crossing! Your hurt now and I dont want to lose you. Your the only one I have left!" "Lia it's ok, I'm just not ment to live that long that's all. Its time for me to say goodbye to this life and move on to the next. haha. I see your hurt to" I looked down on my foot and it turns out I did step on a piece of glass. "I'm only hurt because I was running to make sure you were ok." I smile and start crying "Dont cry Lia, I'll always be with you and making sure your safe. When you need help I'll always be there for you watching over you." I start to cry harder "please no!" I stare at him and look in his beautiful brown eyes for the last time. He smiled and one tear ran down his face "good bye Lia."
