The worst part of getting rid of a mutation like making wings out of muscles and bones was make them go back to their normal position, wait for them to get their normal form, he had to feel his nerves connecting with each other, feel the blood running again where it was supposed to run, all that procces was slow, nobody could see him taking that form, otherwise the police will kill him.
