Back in 1986, Japanese weekly gaming magazine Famitsu featured a series of short comics based on popular videogame series. One of these was Metroid! Titled The Shape of Happiness, the comics are part of a larger series featuring other games. They are drawn by Tamakichi Sakura, who is more famous for Super Mario Adventures in Nintendo Power.
This six-page comic was collected and republished in 1989 as part of Famitsu Comix. There are plenty of fun little details in the pages of the manga - note the working titles for Zelda II and Kid Icarus on page 2!
