Chapter 1
She is a Great Demon Hunter Chapter 1

Molin was a jungle with dense vegetation. A hundred yeas ago, this place was still inaccessible, and because many wild beasts roam within the mountains, ordinary people dare not venture too deep.

In ancient Chinese legends, Molin was also one of the favorite birthplaces of mythical tales. Even today, old people would occasionally tell a story to their grandchildren. The first sentence was usually along the lines of:

A long time ago, a monster emerged out of Molin …

But these were only stories. In the present era where developers are eager to convert all vacant land into housing, even a monster-ridden Molin was more than half urbanized. The relatively flat grounds on the outer parts of Molin were converted into vacation villas for the rich, while the inner parts of the forest were fortunately protected by the country because it inhabits various rare plants. One of the most well-known ones was a nearly six hundred-year-old cedar tree that grew from a sink hole in the heart of Molin.

The cedar tree was tall, sturdy, and ancient. Its surroundings emitted an aura that was as mysterious and mesmerizing as its countless annual tree rings.

By the time Mi Wan was found, she had just climbed out of the sink hole, and sporting a hole in on her skull. In the cool morning dawn, she could only feel light and cold. Although she had used spiritual force to stop the bleeding, the dried blood had spread from her collar down to lower half of the body. She looked like she was close to death's door.

"Miss, what happened to you?" A middle-aged man in his fifties aggressively approached Mi Wan, and when he got close enough to see Mi Wan's tragic state, he was in quite a shock.

"Uh… Last night I accidently slipped and fell into the bottom of the sink hole." Mi Wan knew this man. This man's name is Ye Feng, and the butler serving the house of this present body.

That's right, though nothing has changed with the physical body of the current Mi Wan, the soul was a completely different person. Her original name was Mi Wan, Mi for rice, and Wan for bowl, and she was a demon hunter. While hunting demons five hundred years ago, she was ambushed by a group of demons and was eventually killed in battle. After death, due to the extensive demon power that lingered around her, her soul could not be reborn, and she was stuck there for five hundred years, until about two hours ago. If she were to calculate from the present, it was about five hours ago when the original owner of this body fell into the sink hole. For reasons unknown, the original owner was somehow able to perfectly avoid all the branches and leaves of the six-hundred-year-old cedar tree, landing right beside it, and dying on the spot.

When the previous owner of the body fell, she cracked her head on a rock on the ground. Her blood flowed and stained the roots of the cedar tree, which awakened her.

At that time, Mi Wan was sound asleep when suddenly, she felt like she was being violently sucked away, followed by a sudden pain. Having not felt any pain for five hundred years, she woke up instantly from the agony. Fortunately, she was often injured in her past demon hunting days, and whenever something felt bad, it could usually be healed with spiritual force. That was how she managed to avoid the tragedy of dying right after coming back to life.

When Butler Ye saw that his lady was seriously hurt, he quickly ushered her back to the villa for treatment. After confirming that Mi Wan would not die immediately, and seemed to be in good spirits, Butler Ye asked: "Miss, why were you up the mountain in the middle of the night?"

How did she end up in the mountains? Mi Wan searched through her memories and recalled the reason: "I was experiencing withdrawal and wanted to buy cocaine."

When Mi Wan assumed this body, she immediately realized that she is poisoned. At first, she panicked, until she finished loading all of the original body's memories. Once she realized that this poison could be overcome, she was able to calm down. As for the painful memories of detoxification left behind by the original host, Mi Wan was not at all bothered.

Mi Wan did not wish to cast judgement on the original owner of this body. After all, she was only able to resurrect with the help of their body. In a sense, she had taken advantage of her death and by taking over the body. The final memories of the original host were regrets of turning to drugs for the sake of losing weight, so regardless if it was for the previous owner or for herself, she must purge this poison.

But… do fat people today have to take drugs in order to lose weight? Thinking back in her days, it was privilege to be able to fill your belly, much less worrying about losing weight. Mi Wan rubbed her fleshy stomach, feeling extremely pleased with her little pudgy belly.

Mmhmm, you can tell with one look that this one came from a nice family that never worried about food and drink.

Not knowing what was currently going through Mi Wan's mind, Butler Ye was immediately sullen by her reply. Although he had more or less guessed as much, but even if going out to buy cocaine were a valid reason, who has the audacity to be this straightforward about it?

Butler Ye could not be bothered to lecture Mi Wan, and directly reported the incident to the first young master: "Young Master, the young lady sneaked out last night to buy white powder, got lost in the mountains, and accidently hit her head. The injury is serious. She needs to return to the city and get treated at the hospital."

"Accident? I think she hit it on purpose so she could come back."

Butler Ye did not answer, because he had the same thought. Ever since she was sent to the mountains for rehabilitation, Mi Wan has committed self-harm on several occasions. The Mi family sent Mi Wan to the mountains for rehabilitation in order to sever all her connections with drugs, thinking that she would kick the habit after being locked up for half a year. They never expected that the pain-averse Mi Wan would be desperate enough to commit self-harm. The last few times she cut her wrists with broken glass, and this time she jumped off a cliff.

Recalling how terrifying it was while he searched for her, Butler Ye was could still feel anxiety even now. Even though Mi Wan was seeking death for herself, she must not succeed while under his care.

"Forget it, just send her to the hospital." The man on the other end of the phone spoke up again: "Once she's recovered, bring her back for drug rehabilitation."

"Understood."

Butler Ye hung up the phone, and turned to glance at a certain person with a ring of gauzed wrapped around their heads and let out another sigh. Mi Wan was also a child he had watched growing up. Though not as bright nor pleasing as the first and second young master, how she did suddenly become like this.

"I'm hungry~~" After one night, no, technically it's almost five hundred years since Mi Wan has eaten anything. She was so hungry to the point that she could not analyze Butler Ye's mental state, and only have food on her mind.

"You must quickly head to the hospital. Your wound is too deep. It's a miracle that the bleeding has stopped. You must get a thorough checkup at the hospital to see if you have suffered any brain injuries." Although Dr. Zhao was an addiction specialist, he still had basic medical knowledge. While looking over the wound, he thought he saw brain fluid, and it scared him so much that his hands never stopped shaking, fearing that Mi Wan could drop dead at any moment while he was in the process of bandaging her up.

"Let's leave after we eat." Mi Wan could not seem, so naturally she did not know her brain fluids were almost leaking out, and it did not matter even if she did. As long as the person is not dead, after she has had a full meal, she can heal any external wounds with her spiritual energy and recover quickly.

So, when the emergency number 120 first-aid crew arrived at the door, Mi Wan was still eating buns at the dining table.

Everyone: … (Who said her brain fluids were almost spilling out?)

*

They arrived at the hospital and did a full checkup.

Mi Wan's wound was quite deep, but luckily it did not extend to the inside of the brain and she suffers from only a minor concussion. However, just in case, the doctor wanted her to place her under observation in the hospital for two more days.

"Miss, you should focus on recovery in the ward. Let me know if you need anything." Now that he knew Mi Wan's injury was not serious. Butler Ye was most concerned of Mi Wan sneaking out of the hospital to buy drugs.

No, I should call two more bodyguards to guard the door.

“That …” As Butler Ye was about to turn around and leave, Mi Wan asked, “Will my … will anyone from the family visit?”

“The Master and Lady are attending a meeting in Country M. The first young master is busy with work, and the second young master is about to take the exams, so …”

“I get it, they're not free.” Mi Wan breathed a sigh of relief.

Not coming is good. She has not fully merged with the memories of the original owner so premature visitations from loved ones would quickly expose her.

When she learned that she was in no immediate danger of being exposed, Mi Wan comfortably laid down. The bed was so soft, and more comfortable than the vibrant green pastures in the mountain behind her training school.

Seeing Mi Wan's "depressed" look, Butler Ye was slightly sympathetic. The young Miss only wanted attention from her family, but she went about the wrong way.

In order to restore spiritual energy, Mi Wan fell into an extremely deep sleep and by the time she woke up, it was midnight. She had been sleeping for more than ten hours.

“Grrr ~~”

Clutching her unfamiliar large belly, Mi Wan complained pitifully: "So it feels more unbearable to be hungry when you are fat."

No can do. Time to go find something to eat.

Mi Wan rose from the bed and walked straight out of the ward. Relying her the memory from the daytime, she was able to find her way out of the hospital smoothly.

"Hey. Greetings. Is there a place nearby that sells food rations?" Mi Wan stopped a kind looking woman at the entrance of the hospital, her tone carried an antiquated flair. She had not fully adapted to the modern-day speech, which caused her to string up a sentence that combined modern and ancient terms.

"Oof, little lady needs to learn her language. Your speech is inconsistent. There's a place outside the hospital. Just go out here, turn left, and in about two hundred meters, there is a 24-hour convenience store." The woman pointed towards the road with a smile.

“Thank you.” Mi Wan replied and hurried to the destination. Not long after, she found the convenience store the woman had mentioned.

Upon seeing the convenience store, Mi Wan's brain automatically gave her an introduction about convenience store. After a moment's pause, Mi Wan rushed in.

So many delicious things!

Seeing rows upon rows of shelved goodies, Mi Wan almost drooled. She picked out everything that she felt look delicious. It wasn't until the checkout when she realized that she didn't bring any money.

“Mobile payment is also possible.” The store clerk reminded. Those who carry around cash in this day and year, other than old men who are ignorant of mobile payment, are few among young people.

“I … I didn't bring my cell phone.” It's not that she didn't bring it. She didn't even think about a cell phone. When asked by the clerk, it jolted her memory, only to recall that the mobile phone seemed to be lost when the original owner of the body fell into the sink hole.

“Then you can't buy it.” The clerk said, and took back everything that was just scanned.

Mi Wan pouted with a sad look on her face. She's so hungry ~~

“I'll treat you to instant noodles.” Suddenly, a voice came from behind Mi Wan.

Mi Wan turned her head and discovered a pig, smiling gleefully at her.

“Two bowls of instant noodles, I'll help us make it.” The pig demon that had transformed himself into a middle-aged man, grabbed two bowls of instant noodles and paid for them.

“You're treating me?” When the instant noodles were filled with water and delivered in front of her, Mi Wan narrowed her eyes, as if trying to get a confirmation.

The middle-aged man nodded with a smile: “I think you look very hungry, but instant noodles are not nutritious. You're injured. When you go back, ask the family to brew some soup for you.”

“You're … caring about me?” Mi Wan's raised her eyebrows, surprised filled her face. The demon hunter was being cared for by the demon. Now that's a very different experience.

“Of course, come, let's go over there to sit down and eat.” The middle-aged man smiled cheerfully, beckoning Mi Wan to take her instant noodles and follow him. He's a pig demon, and when he sees the occasional chubby person, he would unconsciously develop a fondness towards them. Though the girl had a wound on her head, she had a large round figure. One look and you can tell that somewhere in his porky ancestry, she is related to his kind.

Mi Wan's eyes flickered, and followed amusedly along while holding her noodles.

This pig demon is pretty bold. Aside from not running away when he sees me, he even invited me to eat noodles?

Is this a bribe? But I have to say, this bribe is still very attractive.

“Why, in the current demon world, are you pig demons considered a large demon clan? Do you all arrogantly to prance around in front of a demon hunter?” Mi Wan casually asked as she whiffed at the tempting fragrance of the instant noodles.

“Thud …”

The pig demon suddenly tilted to the side, and his whole person fell off the stool.

“You … you …” The pig demon looked at Mi Wan in horror, his fat body trembled.

Now this is the normal reaction.

“Don't be afraid, seeing that you invited me to eat noodles, and I will not kill you today.”

Did you originally … Did you want to kill me?

“Pew.”

Like a gust of wind, the pig demon who was rescued by a five-dollar bowl of instant noodles disappeared swiftly without a piggy trace.

Mi Wan was long accustomed to this phenomenon of running away like the wind. She calmly peeled open the lid and took a bite of the instant noodles, and then …

Mmm ~~ Pig demon or whatever, how can he compare the deliciousness of instant noodles?

Oh hey, there is another bowl next to it. Did the pig demon forget to eat it just now? Hmm ~~ I should let him go the next time we meet.

The author has something to say: Annoucement: Stay far away from drugs and cherish life! The drug addiction mentioned in this was just to highlight the character's role, and this is a fantasy genre. The heroine has spiritual power, and her physique is different from ordinary people, so her rehabilitation process sounds easier. In reality, drugs are extremely harmful. Once a drug withdrawal happens, humans can hardly control themselves. Think about the original owner of that body. She died because of drugs This is why you should stay far away from illegal substances, and cherish life! ! (Coming from the crabs who afraid of getting locked up.)
