Chapter 1
Chapter 1: The Weakling
Kaito had always dreamed of attending Ascension Academy, the most prestigious school for magic in the world. He had studied and practiced for years, honing his skills in the hope of being accepted into the academy.
Finally, the day had come. Kaito stood nervously at the gates of Ascension Academy, surrounded by other hopeful students. He looked around at the other applicants, many of whom were dressed in fine clothes and carried expensive-looking magical tools. Kaito, on the other hand, wore a simple robe and carried only a small, battered wand.
As they were led into the academy's grand entrance hall, Kaito couldn't help but feel out of place. The walls were lined with shimmering crystals and magical artifacts, and the air was thick with the scent of exotic incense. Students and teachers bustled about, dressed in robes of all colors and carrying all manner of magical tools.
Kaito was directed to a small room where he was to take the entrance exam. The room was sparsely furnished, with only a desk, a chair, and a small window. Kaito sat down nervously, his palms sweating.
The exam was challenging, and Kaito struggled to keep up with the questions. He knew that this was his only chance to prove himself, and he didn't want to fail. But as the minutes ticked by, Kaito began to realize that he was in over his head. He didn't have the same level of skill or experience as the other applicants, and it showed in his performance.
When the exam was over, Kaito was escorted back to the entrance hall. He watched as the other applicants were congratulated and welcomed into the academy, their names called out one by one. Kaito waited anxiously, hoping against hope that his name would be called.
Finally, the last name was called, and Kaito was left standing alone. The teachers and administrators conferred quietly, their expressions grim. Kaito could tell that something was wrong.
After what seemed like an eternity, one of the teachers approached Kaito. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice kind but firm. "We cannot offer you a place at Ascension Academy at this time. Your magical abilities are simply not up to our standards."
Kaito felt his heart sink. This was the worst possible outcome. He had dreamed of attending Ascension Academy for years, and now he was being told that he wasn't good enough.
As Kaito walked dejectedly away from the academy, he couldn't help but feel like a failure. He had put everything into his dream of attending Ascension Academy, and now that dream was shattered.
But Kaito refused to give up. He was determined to prove himself, to show the world that he was more than just a weakling. He would train harder, study longer, and become the greatest wizard the world had ever seen.
And with that thought in mind, Kaito set out on his journey, determined to become the strongest wizard in the world, no matter the cost.
