Chapter 48

 

 

 

 

Daniel leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. A beat later, his eyebrows twitched.

 

 “…Maybe it has something to do with your spirit art?”

 

 Vivian, who was examining her lighter body, widened her eyes.  Daniel leaned closer to her, his eyes as clear as glass.

 

 “The Lady's greatest talent is elemental magic… maybe it has something to do with it!”

 

 “Ah, really?”

 

 “They say 'Elemental magic can block black magic'… I think it could be an incredibly groundbreaking topic of study.”

 

Daniel became lost in thought, his eyes twinkling. Vivian swung to her feet.  Now that she'd resolved what worried her, she thought it would be best for her to go.

 

 “By the way, didn't you say that the scroll was in the Lady's room?”

 

 Vivian, who was already at the doorknob, nodded her head at the sudden question.  Daniel was sitting in the same position, stroking his chin. His dazzling brown eyes snapped back to reality.

 

 “I heard from the boss that demons keep appearing in this land.  If what was drawn on the scroll was a summoning circle… Maybe the magical beasts have something to do with the scroll, no, the black magic drawn on the scroll?”

 

 As he said, if the scroll really had something to do with the beasts that invaded the West, the question became even deeper.  But it was difficult because she had no idea where to start investigating.  Vivian frowned, immersed in new worries.

 

 “Well, anyway, if that's true, I hope you ask the association for help as soon as possible.”

 

Daniel quickly reverted to his aloof attitude and ran a hand through his brown hair.

 

 “If black magic is being practiced in this land, you will need a stronger wizard.”

 “A wizard like me who can only use simple purification magic won't help much.”

 

 She nodded and left quickly, before he started talking about anything else.

 

 When she realized that something foreign had settled inside of her and that it had just as quickly disappeared, she felt like a stranger in her own body.  Vivian let out a weak sigh.  Daniel's words kept running through her mind, making her wonder if the problems of this land were caused by black magic.

 

 'If that's really the case…….'

 

 Vivian's thoughts became twisted like a ball of thread, making her head pound. She didn't know what to do. The only thing that gave her comfort was the fact that all of this was speculation, and nothing was clear as of now.

 A warm energy permeated the space.

 

 Vivian, who was sitting on top of a man, exhaled slowly.  Her fingertips trembled as she touched his sweat-soaked abdomen.
