Lucian watched the sky turn from a light blue to a murky gray, as the world dims. Soon light and small fragmented snowflakes fell from the clouds. As he climbed off his carriage and headed into his new school, he reached out a hand, trying to catch a floating snowflake. When it finally landed in the palm of his hand, he smiled gently. A calm, unfiltered expression appeared on his countenance. A rare to see light shined in his eyes and for a brief moment, he looked joyful.

Aileene was stunned, she knew that soon they would reunite and she had prepared herself for whatever she would have felt at that moment.
