Under the Bamboo Parasol 2 Nameless Mansion

They stand before a grand mansion with no sign to indicate the owner. There were two guards on both sides of the ebony door. When they saw the woman walking elegantly up the steps towards the mansion, the guards quickly opened the doors and bowed respectfully. The woman's speed was unaffected as she walked past them. Once she enters through the doors, there were servants standing on both sides for as far as the eye could see. They all respectfully bowed and kept their heads down. She nodded and walked past them, with the girl in red following behind her.

The mansion had beautiful scenery with rivers and fake mountains. All of which were maintained carefully, the servants not daring to make a mistake.

The mansion was surprisingly vacant, considering all those who were present when they greeted the two. It seems the servants of the manor were just as mysterious as the manor itself.

They entered the courtyard and made their way into a nameless hall. It was the size of a giant study hall, with a giant hand-woven rug that showed the scenery of a fiery red blossoming flower in contrast to its mountainous background.

If one could describe it, they would say that it is comparable to a drop of blood melting against the untouched snow.

The room was lit with luminous pearls that made the room seem as if it had been bathed in sunlight, even though it was the dead of night. The room was extremely huge, with the desk at the end of the hall, and chairs that led up to the desk. All the furniture was made of top quality materials, with the chairs and the tables made from exquisite redwood.

This room was well organized with shelves upon shelves, each one stacked with heavy volumes of binding. It felt as if the shelves would all fall down at a moment's notice, turning everything into nothing but dust.

The luminous pearls, which were brighter than candles and did not give off any fumes. It was a luxury that most nobles favored to use when they read at night.

Once inside, the woman took off the gauze hat and sat down behind a desk that had many reports waiting for her to make a decision.

She picked up a report and began reading. Her eyes quickly glazed over the entirety of the bamboo scroll, as if she had done it over a thousand times. Her movements were quick, yet forever infused with a graceful elegance to it.

It didn't take long before she picked up a brush, and began writing with it. She only recorded the most important information, before it went to the shelves, later to be organized and read thoroughly.

In no time, an hour had already past and there was a dryness in her throat, even though she had not spoken a word, there was still a bit of a fatigue feeling that came over her body. She looked up to see that the girl was gone.

[Yun'er knows me so well]

There was a smile on the woman's face as if someone had promised to buy her a sweet stick of candied fruit, and she was a little child waiting for it to arrive. Now, She no longer resembled a woman who was in her forties.

The girl in red had already gone out, and quickly returned with a cup of hot tea on a tray, and placed it on the table before the woman. The woman took off the lid of the teacup and allowed the steam to rise up like a coiling dragon into the air.
