For the first time in his life, Nightin truly understood what pain beyond the endurance of a human feels like.

His internal organs were set on fire and his muscles were tearing apart as his skin started to burn from the scorching heat.

That one resolution in his mind however made it impossible for him to give up as he told himself, If I give up now, who would avenge my parents?

Just one simple childish thought was enough for him to have the willpower to go through this pain which slowly reduced with the passing of each second.

When he opened his eyes once again, Phoenix had already vanished and what was left behind, were merely three scrolls which were placed on the stone altar.

The three scrolls were of a different colour, the first was green and was placed on the left.

Nightin didn't know why, but he just stood up and opened the scroll on the left as a astral projection was sent into his mind.

A dazzling gleam of light caused him to experienced brief blindness, but he soon regained his sight.

Taking in a deep breath, he opened up his arms to embrace the mother nature around him, nature was all around him right now.

The trees were standing upright and shielding the plants and flowers below from the sun with their leaves, it's unclear whether it's trying to help them or prevent their growth.

Little animals such as bees were sucking on the pollen from the flowers, small creatures such as squirrels could be seen climbing the trees while gathering their nuts, for winter presumably.

When Nightin raised his head, three magnificent words were carved on the red entrance which had no door or guard, it was open for everyone to enter for some reason.

The three words were "Soaring Sword sect!"

Just those words which were carved on it by the sword, held enough aura within them to show its splendour to the whole world, the sharpness and impact it strikes with, can still be felt even with the passage of time.

Nightin wanted to step into the sect and take a look, but he was apparently rooted to the spot as a message was transmitted to his mind. "Child, do take care of the Soaring Sword sect, they're still in the lower realm somewhere..."

"Ahh! A ghost!" Nightin jumped out in fear as he hugged a tree nearby, only to jump off again when he saw a huge spider staring st him.

"Help me! Just what is going on!" Before Nightin could run out, the scroll had already transported him out from the projection, he was panting heavily and his robes were sticking closely to his skin.

The second scroll however was different and its exterior was similar to the first one, but it was of a light crimson colour.

When Nightin opened up the scroll, would there be another scary projection? That was his thought as he carefully opened it.

Guess I was wrong. Nightin was shocked when he saw a beautiful longsword.

The longsword was about two metres in length, its blade was sharp and of a scarlet red, its handle was of a beige colour and the pommel was a crimson feather held together by the golden pommel.

The next moment, the same voice transmitted into Nightin's mind once again as he said once again "Take good care of my sword."

It was simple, but the voice sounded solemn when mentioning this, it was clear that the sword held paramount importance to him.

As Nightin picked it up, he sheathed it into the average looking scabbard before keeping it within the system's mysterious storage place.

Last but not least was the third scroll as he picked it off from the stone altar, he somehow felt danger from this scroll with black linings, it just felt too ominous yet sacred.

When Nightin opened it up, what appeared was a cultivation technique which went by the name "Nirvana Rebirth!"

The Nirvana Rebirth was a cultivation technique and its rarity was actually as high as... It exceeded the categories which Nightin knew of.

Even though it brings about better benefits for cultivators of the fire element, it doesn't change the fact that it's still stronger than any Saint technique that Nightin knows of, though he barely knows any of them.

Nightin understood that since Phoenix had vanished, he was probably still on his last breath trying to recuperate somewhere, if he manages to survive through this current crisis, a new him would be reborn as the first Phoenix to complete nine rebirths and step into the legendary realm.

As for him leaving behind his inheritance for Nightin instead of his own descendents, it was pretty obvious that he didn't hold the means to.

In his eyes, Nightin might just be a trash in terms of cultivation talent, but as long as Nightin has the qualifications to cultivate, he might be capable of helping Phoenix achieve whatever he expects.

Nightin could feel his mentality improving as he understood another law in this world, there's nothing such as the strongest, there's only something known as stronger.

Taking out the Phoenix Sword, he could feel its resonance towards him as he gradually opened himself to it.

Scarlet red petals started to dance around him, this was followed by crimson red and rose colour which danced along as well, his body was actually following its dance as he closed his eyes to enjoy it.

It was the state of enlightenment and he understood that the petals had a meaning for him to derive, he had a feeling that it has something to do with the cycles of reincarnation.

The initial scarlet red was just a newborn and couldn't do much. The arrival of the crimson red shoes that the scarlet has undergone as transformation and stepped into its second life, adding on to the charm and beauty of the dance.

When the rose petals came in however, it was a third life and a new rebirth. It brought about elegance and sharpness, courage and love while keeping the initial traits of itself.

The cycles of reincarnation weren't able to erase its original characteristics, it remained itself throughout and stayed who it truly was without losing track of itself.

It may seem simple, but it was such a difficult task to hold elegance without the slightest evil in one's mind, maybe it's possible for a mortal who he once was.

But the moment one steps onto the cultivation path, they have to steel their hearts and get ready to lose their innocent virgin at some point.
