CHAPTER 37: TEN DAYS     “I won’t starve you.”     Xiao Liu gently patted the back of the old man’s hand. Looking at those flirty expressions, Zhang Yang’s whole body shivered, he was full of goose bumps. It seemed that these two were already falling in love.     “Boy, I’ll be going first …ah the old frontiersman losing his horse… who knows.. can be a blessing in disguise …(#idiom).   “Oh, uncle Wang, it’s okay! But next time, when you notice such things, please don’t try to be brave. At that time, Liu Biao was still sleeping, presumably due to the anesthesia.     “Nurse, how’s it going?” Looking at unconscious Liu Biao, Zhang Yang pulled a nurse aside and asked anxiously.     “It’s alright now! It seemed that no one was interested in chatting, and the two big men on suits were just sitting there silent with their eyes closed.     The ward had six beds. With Liu Biao there were four sleeping and the other two beds were empty, presumably the whole room had been booked.     Endless waiting and looking at Liu Biao peacefully sleeping, Zhang Yang couldn’t help but get emotional. He and Liu Biao had been friends for more than three years, and in those three years, most of the time Liu Biao took care of him but he rarely did the same. In Zhang Yang’s mind, Liu Biao was just like ‘Li Kui’ from ancient times. (#Li Kui: one of the heroes from the novel ”Water Margin”). He knew that Liu Biao was quite dramatic from the beginning. Zhang Yang remembered, he met Liu Biao three years ago  on that same small restaurant where he and Du Xue had a meal. Lu Fei had forgotten his

purse and was arguing with the shop owner, when Zhang yang spared few yuans to pay for him. And after that, they became best friends.       Of course, the two had many common hobbies. Liu Biao also liked to play online games and read novels…     Zhang Yang slightly smiled thinking about the past three years bit by bit. He was very much satisfied to have Liu Biao as his friend. You don’t need many friends, just a best one is enough.     “What are you smiling about”?     “Ah … cough … cough … no ... I’m not smiling, how are you feeling?” Zhang Yang was surprised for a moment. He didn’t know when Liu Biao had woken up, and he looked very weak.     “Not bad, the doctor had said, because I used to drink too much, the anesthesia will not take much effect, ... Zhang yang … …”     “Huh”.     “Buddy, are you embarrassed?”     “No, I’m not!! Liu Biao looked dull but he was feeling something strange about Zhang Yang, is this still that cowardly crazy man?     The two men in black suit once again felt the murderous aura from Zhang Yang, they couldn’t help but look at each other. One of them nodded slightly.     “Liu Biao, I think you know this already, we are sent by brother Xiao. Elder brother Xiao know all about your condition, and, all your treatment and medicines expenses will be reimbursed. Brother Xiao will not let go of this situation easily, but you must not try to take revenge on anyone, including your friends.” The man in the black suit went to Liu Biao’s bed and spoke, then he looked at Zhang Yang during his last sentence. Obviously, the last sentence was meant for Zhang Yang.       “Hey, thank you boss, thank you very much. I was worried about the medical expenses but now you can also rest assured. I won’t let Zhang Yang get in trouble with that f**ker, I’ll listen to each and every word the boss says….” Liu Biao said with a smile.     “Why can’t we take revenge?” Zhang Yang stopped Liu Biao with his hand and looked at the black suit man in a cold manner.     “How will you take revenge? Break his bones, stab him to death?” The black suit man laughed.     “………..”       Zhang Yang was speechless. Although, he was anxious to find Lu Fei, he didn’t have any plan.     “I’m sure, as soon as you kill him or hurt him, you’ll be taken by the police right away.” The man laughed again.       “Let’s just forget about it…!” Liu Biao said angrily.     “Oh, it seems that you do not understand Xiao brother, Liu Biao, even though you stay with these punks, you’re not them!” The man with a look of disdain in his face referred to the other three lying in their beds, and said,” You know, we are a company, we are businessmen. Everything we do are complied with the legal procedures, and also, do you even know that person’s background?” Also, if you’re thinking of revenge, do you really want to do it personally? Oh, a lot of things are needed to be considered and it takes certain amount of time. It’s not as easy as they show on TV, you can’t just take a watermelon knife and go on chopping people on the street …”       “Well then, I will wait ten days for you!” Zhang Yang stared at the big man.     “Ten days?” The man in black suit was surprised for a moment, he couldn’t believe that Zhang Yang had actually set a time limit.     “Ten days later, if you still haven’t dealt with this matter, then, I’ll come!” The tone of Zhang Yang’s voice was low and deep which produce an unsettling feeling.     “Zhang Yang … …” Liu Biao felt weird, this wasn’t Zhang Yang’s style.     “Liu Biao, needless to say, I have decided. You’re injured because of me, and if your elder brother cannot provide you justice, then, let me handle it!” Zhang Yang interrupted Liu Biao. His voice was full of indomitable determination, letting people believe in his words.
