The Other Side of the Mask 45 Chapter 45: Love is in the Air

We finally finished the paperwork and combined the politics for the country. The Ri Kingdom was pretty easy going about the situation and for them, everything was really 'true love'. The Yue Kingdom did have some problems, though. The nobles complained and what not, especially SanXing, since she absolutely hates me. I gave her a bunch of money to explore the Ri Kingdom and to stop distracting me from my work, and then the moment she comes back, she busts into my office. Oh my lord I am so -

Huh? SanXing's face is red from blushing, as she says that to me. I look at her with my mind literally about to explode. Then I realize her clinging onto the arm of someone. She pulls him over, and I get a better look at him…

I immediately stood up. He puts his hand on the back of his head and blushes.

"Well…"

I facepalm, "Wait, I forgot, you���re narcissistic and all those fetishes."

He recalls his 'I'm your hero thing' and turns away.

He whistles, "I didn't do anything…"

Anyways, at least SanXing isn't a problem anymore. KaiZhen and TianYu married shortly after the kingdoms combined. Finally, today is the day that we move into the Eclipse Palace and … get married… I sit in a carriage with XiaoLong as he teases my nervous expression.

"Why are you blushing like that~"

I turn away, "And why are you staring?"

His face suddenly turns red, "B-b-because… you're… very pretty..."

I blush off guard and turn away. I gaze outside the window and ignore him. Forced thoughts: Wow, the sky looks great today! It's so sunny and bright, even all the people are smiling. The flowers are so pretty...but not as handsome as XiaoLong?

My thoughts somehow trail back to him, and I glance over. Our eyes meet and I look away.

"What's there to be shy about?" he asks earnestly.

"Well…" I reluctantly try to come up with a reason to cover my discomfort.

He comes closer to me and gives me a hug.

He whispers in my ear, "It's okay, you can trust us. I know what happened in the past, and I swear it won't happen again. I won't let them get away with"

My tenseness relaxes a bit. The warmth of his hug around me calms me. I hug him back and ruffle his hair. He flinches and pulls away. He covers his mouth with the back of his arm, as his face turns red.

"P-please d-don't tempt me… u003e///u003c"

Having read too many romance novels, I immediately understand and draw away, blushing.

"Shameless," I mutter under my breath.
