The Journey To An Unknown Destination 23 Exhausted

As soon as they both entered the gym, a cool gust of air welcomed them. The gym was neat and clean with a sweet smell filling the air. "Woah!" Chris exclaimed in zeal. As soon as Aiden saw the two enter, he rushed over and greeted them, and then he turned to Chris and laughed, "Ah! A new recruit!" Chris nodded while beaming.

Aiden was also the most popular boy in college, so now Chris could boast about being friends with him! Aiden then went with Chris to Mr. Johnathon to enroll him. While Emily started to warm up. Henry came up and also welcomed her. He then quickly shifted the topic about her beating Cyril in a match. "So I heard that you defeated Cyril by exactly 1.5 points! Wow, Emily! Never knew you were so talented. Wish I could see it with my own eyes." "Oh, hha! It was nothing, it was like using his own tricks against him. He was the one who taught me. I should thank him for that!" Emily giggled and replied humbly.

"Hah, you probably don't know, but Aiden praises you all the time! I think my ears might go sore. Haha! But, I have to say, from the way he describes you, you really seem to be a truly gifted person. From books to looks, you are really…" Even Henry started to compliment her, to stop herself from blushing, she interrupted by slightly coughing, "Oh, haha! Thanks for all the compliments. But I better go and start working out. Have a busy weekend ahead!"

The rest of the hour in the gym went pretty quietly. From time to time Chris would chat with Aiden and Henry, getting tips on being fit etc. Finally, Emily decided to leave as she had enough for the day. She was drinking water when Aiden came and sat beside her. He thought for a while, then stated while awkwardly laughing, "Uhm… Emily, you remember your promise, right?"

Emily nearly spat out the water in her mouth. Next time she would be careful when offering help to others! "Yes, I do! How about I come over to your house tomorrow?" She answered, but instantly regretted it for no reason. Aiden realized that since it's her first time participating, that's why it might take her time to adjust her timings. So he did not pressurized her. In fact, he offered himself, "Don't worry, I won't be taking you as a tutor or anything! I just want you to give me a detailed lecture, once and for all."

Emily indicated a thumbs up. She was greatly relieved. Just once, not a problem at all!

"I think we all should be going now, it's getting late." Aiden said and got up. Similarly, Chris and Henry also prepared to leave. They all bid Mr. Jonathon farewell and exited the gym. "How about I give you guys a ride home!" Henry offered as he unlocked his luxury car.

As soon as Chris saw the car, he whistled. "Wow! This. Car. Is. Amazing!"

Afterwards, the group of four left in the car. Chris and Henry babbled about cars and its brands. Emily was totally exhausted after a strenuous day. He paid no heed to any of their gossip. Within two minutes, Aiden was dropped off. Moving a few blocks further, Emily and Chris also got off.

"Wait, Emily!" Henry stopped her. "Can I have your number?" Emily looked puzzled. "I will contact you later as I have to ask something." Since Emily was just too tired, she instantly exchanged numbers.

As soon as she entered her house, she desperately ran towards her room, before hitting the sack and dozing off into a deep sleep.
