The Immortal's Poison Chapter 46

The monk with the little mouth trembled like a drug addict with withdrawal symptoms and his large, black eyes glowed with a contradictory gaze. Finally, he stomped his foot fiercely and the contradiction in his eyes was totally replaced with greed as he ran forward with great strides towards Wen Leyang.

Once the monk had made a move, everybody else too followed suit.

Dozens of black shadows glided out from every direction noiselessly. The blades of their swords too were silent as they made their attack in a disciplined manner towards the monk.

The monk's gaze was firmly fixed on Wen Leyang's body and he paid no attention towards the terrifying attack that was coming his way. Just at the moment before the swords were about to pierce his body, he raised his two arms and flapped his wide sleeves around, resembling a huge freshwater clam which had closed up in that moment. His entire body shrank and a loud noise, like the explosion of a pressure cooker, erupted from within his body. The elites of both the Wen and the Luo families were thrown into the air like freshly popped corn!

A gust of fishy-smelling evil spirit odor spread in the air and rose into the sky!

The four leaders of the Wen family cursed in rage simultaneously and just as they were about to leap up, a strong force of wind blew into them and threw all their battle poses into a crooked scene. Wen Leyang looked like a weird bird, his limbs were spread apart widely as his body flew past in front of their eyes, slamming towards the little-mouthed monk fiercely.

The little-mouthed monk was a mystery, a single flap from his monk's robe was like a bowling ball smashing into chess pieces and dozens of master cultivators had been thrown into the air with one blow. Wen Leyang did not want his grandfather to risk their lives and though his body was comparatively heavier than before, as long as he was properly prepared the extra weight no longer restricted his moving speed. His held both his arms open widely as if he wanted to hold on to the monk and compete toughness with toughness, to see if the monk's pressure cooker explosion was stronger or his Faulty Punch would be more effective.

The monk too leaped up towards Wen Leyang. He stuck his tongue out and repeatedly licked his lips as if the thing that was flying towards him in the sky was not an enemy but a delicious piece of meat dumpling.

As the monk got closer to his chest, Wen Leyang exhaled with all his might so his chest could tighten up as much as possible to brace for the oncoming impact. His open arms snapped closed and hundreds of joints on his body shook simultaneously, launching into the Hundred Poisons Power from the Faulty Punch in the blink of an eye! Even if that person was the Iron Buddha, he could still hold onto him until he turned into a fluffy ball of dough.

Unexpectedly, his confident hold turned into an empty embrace.

Wen Leyang only felt a lightness in his embrace as the monk's big body shrank into a small ball and slid weirdly down his ribs. At the same time, he felt a chill on his thigh and knew that the little-mouthed monk had taken something out of his trousers' pocket.

Wen Leyang made a muffled growl before contracting and relaxing his waist to somersault in midair. He held onto his knees with his arms, turning himself into a human cannonball and charged forcefully towards the rolling flesh ball of the monk ahead of him.

The little-mouthed monk landed on the ground and spread his body out into its full size again. His face was lit up with excitement and joy as he started to run away quickly. It was only at this moment that the popcorns which had been blasted into the air earlier began to fall back down to earth. It seemed that no one was hurt by the attack as they had put their expert cultivation to good use, stabilizing themselves and controlling their falling speed. Other than the ghastly pale pallor on their faces, they were otherwise uninjured.

Wen Leyang was afraid that the monk might try to hurt the others again and he followed closely behind the monk. The four elders of the Death Trademark and the two elders of The Centipede too no longer cared about remaining stealthy as they shouted to one another as they obstructed and intercepted the path of the little-mouthed monk. However, the monk was like a soft breeze and constantly changed his direction so they couldn't block him at all. Wen Leyang, who was following closely behind the monk was like a fully wound metal spring as he chased after him with all his might. Anyone who accidentally touched him then would certainly supper broken bones.

Chang Li was amused by them until she started to chuckle before suddenly extending her arm to grab onto Wen Leyang firmly, "Don't you think that you are being too stingy?"

Wen Leyang could sense a gentle force that fully extinguished the gigantic inertia produced by his body in the blink of an eye, it felt as if he had bumped head first into a cotton pile. Once he regained his footing, he asked in astonishment, "What do you mean by me being stingy?"

The monk saw that Wen Leyang was no longer chasing him so he too stopped running about. The elite cultivators of both the Wen and the Luo families caught up to him and surrounded him with their swords drawn.

It was only then that everyone could see clearly that within the monk's firm grip was a carrot. He held the carrot up to his nose and sniffed with all his might.

Wen Leyang fumbled through his pockets and found out there and then that the little-mouthed monk had stolen a carrot from his pocket during the exchange earlier. He was so astonished that he was at a loss on whether to cry or laugh at the situation.

The little-mouthed monk too had no care about his audience's gradually dilating pupils as he raised the carrot and brought it towards his mouth. Suddenly, there was a blur in his vision and his upper and lower teeth clacked together on empty air.

The carrot was now in Chang Li's hand. The witch scrutinized it as she asked Wen Leyang, "Does this really taste that good?" She had been hiding in that stone cave for the past two thousand years and had no idea what a carrot was. Even though she had seen Wen Leyang eat one the day before, she did not pay much attention to it then.

Everyone, including the little-mouthed monk, once again turned pale from fright. No one had expected that such an affective but sweet young woman would surprisingly possess such a fine talent. Wen Leyang was the only one who'd kept a normal expression as he nodded his head and answered, "Well, it tastes pretty good actually." Chang Li had previously snatched the Dopod from the old monk, Hope Sense's hand so it did not surprise him that she had effortlessly taken the little-mouthed monk's carrot.

Crunch, a crisp snapping sound was heard as small white teeth like seashells gingerly bit the tip of the carrot.

The little-mouthed monk straightened his back, his Adam's apple bobbed as he gulped. His eyes were red as he stared at the witch's hand as if he wanted to pounce forward but was too afraid. Chang Li chewed thoughtfully for a moment before she grimaced, "This tastes awful!" She swung her hand and threw the offending carrot onto the ground, at the same time stomping her feet to vent her displeasure.

The little-mouthed monk was so heartbroken that he turned pale. Wen Leyang hastily grabbed another carrot from his pocket and lobbed to the monk from afar. The monk's face immediately filled with joy, as he stretched his arm out to catch the carrot. Just as he was about to grab it, his body trembled a few times and stood completely still. He could only watch blindly as this carrot also fell onto the ground.

Chang Li's gaze became brighter and brighter.

Wen Leyang was still puzzled when the sound of a light sigh drifted in faintly and indistinctly on the night breeze. The figures of an old monk and a young monk appeared at the end of their line of sight but it only took them a few steps before they arrived in front of everyone else.

The old monk, other than being slightly older, looked as if he had been cast from the same mold as the little-mouthed monk. He had thick brows and big eyes, his nose bridge was high and straight, and he too had a plump red little mouth. Wen Leyang recognized the younger monk as the little stutterer Hope Voice.

Grand Elder Wen coughed and everybody from the Death Trademark immediately dispersed. The other three grandfathers hid their hands within their sleeves and rapidly snapped their fingers.

The little monk Hope Voice exclaimed fearfully as he hastily took out a string of Buddhist prayer beads from his chest pocket and hung them around his neck. The faces of the Wen family's elders all darkened simultaneously. The strong poison which they had just sent out was curbed as soon as the little monk had put on the Buddhist prayer beads.

The old monk looked at the carrot on the ground with a face full of pity. He then held out a finger and flicked the little-mouthed monk's bald head with great strength as he said, "Idiot, idiot. You're such a useless person, after all the long years of practicing Buddhism, you still can't overcome your old ways!"

Chang Li chuckled and said, "Well, it's only a stick of…" She looked at Wen Leyang with an inquiring gaze.

Wen Leyang hastily pointed out, "Carrot."

"It's only a stick of carrot, since he has eaten some of it then let him eat it all."

The old monk, on the other hand, shook his head seriously, he then began to chant eloquently, "One shall not eat, one shall not eat. All the interests from before must all be forgotten or else one's natural character will constantly be under temptation, if one could not even cultivate his heart, one could never cultivate to the heavens."

Chang Li appeared to be in a good temperament and refuted the chant with a smile, "But if one were to forget this and forget that, one day one would forget entirely who they were."

The old monk stared at the carrot lying on the ground as he spoke, "One does not understand, one does not understand. We do not measure ourselves to others, if we were to forget ourselves then…"

Chang Li did not wait for him to finish speaking and laughed in a carefree manner, "If one were to forget who one is, then what was one cultivating for? Cultivate this and cultivate that, in the end, one cultivates oneself into another person, might as well become a wild hare in the mountains, upon seeing a…carrot it will be a new rush of joy all over again!"

The old monk abruptly shifted his gaze away from the carrot and looked towards Chang Li, a murderous intent flashed from his eyes.

Chang Li's laughter stopped and her charming face lost its smile as soon as she met the gaze of the old monk. Her eyes too started brimming with a murderous gleam as she glared back, "If you keep staring at me I'll dig out your eyeballs!"

Sister Chang Li was no longer happy.

A feeling of arrogance permeated the air like countless steel needles capable of recklessly pricking anyone who stood in its path. All the pores on Wen Leyang's body were tightly shut as he shuffled in front of his four grandfathers to defend them.

The four old men, however, looked at one another in bewilderment as they had not felt a thing.

The young little-mouthed monk jumped behind the old monk as he was seized with panic. He cautiously poked out half his head out and looked at Chang Li with great fright.
