Chapter 39 The war approaches (Part I)

Uncle Li paused and said: "With the support from nearby countries, our fighters had a battle that lasted for several months with the Evil-Kind. Until spring the next year, our emperor and the Warcraft king negotiated to give away the land in the north of Dragon city to the Evil-Kind for them to farm. That eventually made the Evil-Kind agree to back off. In that battle, we lost 6 million soldiers, 2 million civilians and more than a thousand captains. Our kingdom was heavily hurt by this war. After the war, our neighboring countries and those small countries that used to rely on us also started attacking us. It was our sacred magical family and our vindictive family that suppressed the turmoil on our borders. Citizens in our country finally returned to their peaceful life."

But even so, the Evil-Kind would come attack us for food every winter. Our king used to write to the Evil king, requiring them to stop attacking us. But the reply we got was that as long as the royal family of the Evil-Kind didn't join the attack, the Evil-Kind didn't break the deal."

Yuxiao frowned his brows and asked, "Uncle Li, if this time when they attack us, I am not yet able to join the fight, can I watch the battle on the city wall?"

The old man said "No. Our army requires swift mobility. At that time, you might become the burden for us."

"But what if I want to join the war? It will be too long to wait another year."

Right as Yuxiao ran into the barrack, Captain Xiong appointed him immediately. When Yuxiao just woke up from his coma, Captain Xiong had told him that he would promote Yuxiao as a team captain after he recovered.

So Yuxiao was not surprised by this appointment. He quickly took over his name tag and walked to the end of the room. But Yuxiao's big figure stood out in the crowd.
