Shadow Magus 5 Joining an academy

Freya arrived at one of the bigger houses in the village, at the entrance there was a sign that said Dark forest academy. In front of the house there was a luxuries table and two chairs that looked very comfortable. On one of the chairs there was an old man who looked so pale it would not surprise Freya if this was his first time seeing the sun.

The old man looked like he was about to fall asleep at any moment and anyone would feel he was harmless, if not for a mysterious aura surrounding him. The only time Freya had felt this kind of presence was when she had seen the powerful magus wipeout all of the shadow wolfs from existence. This old man might look harmless but he was no doubt a powerful magus.

Freya took a deep breath and walked up to the old man. He seemed to have sensed her presence and slowly raised his head and reveled a big smile. "Who might this young miss be, are you perhaps interested in joining our prestigious academy?" Freya also revealed a smile as she thought it would be appropriate. "My name is Freya Antoinette and I am indeed interested in joining the great Dark forest academy.

The old man revealed an even bigger smile this time and introduced himself. "My name is Logan and I am a professor at our academy. Since you are interested in joining us, I will have to take a look your documents to see if you have the qualifications necessary. Also take note, if your documents you present are falsified you will be dealt with accordingly at a later date when it has been double checked. In case you have not gotten all the information about our academy you can read these papers before making your decision."

"There is no need for that" said Freya as she handed her documents over. Logan took them and started reading before revealing a smile so big that it was hard to tell if he were a human or not at this point.

"You are indeed more than qualified of joining our academy with your talents. It was indeed a good choice to join us since you are very talented in shadow magic. People talented in dark magic are also qualified to join our academy as long as they are talent enough. However, they have many more choices to choose from making their choice much harder. People like us who are talented in shadow magic have less choices but we have greater potential. When you have decided to join the Dark forest academy please sign your name on this document."

After letting her A.I chip review the document and confirming that they were not taking advantage of her she gave her signature without hesitation. The A.I chip was very fast and on the outside, it seemed as if Freya did not even read the document. Just as she finished the document seamed to disappear and the next moment it reappeared in Logan's hand before he put it away.

"Congratulations on officially joining our Dark forest academy!" Logan seemed to be in a very good mood as a servant came outside. "Freya go inside and chose a room where you can put your belongings before coming to the living room where you can meet those students that will also be joining our academy."

Freya expressed her gratitude to Logan for his help before fallowing the servant inside. She did not have that many things with her so she quickly left them in her room before going back down stairs and walked into the living room.

There was a total of 5 people her age already waiting when she arrived. "Nice to meet you my name is Freya and will also be enrolling at the Dark forest academy." The other 5 people looked over after noticing Freya's arrival. A confident looking woman was the first who stepped forward. "My name is Layla and I hope we can be good friends who will help each other in learning magic in the future."

The rest of them introduced themselves one after the other. Their names where Isabell, Mila, Michael and James. After some small talk Freya found out that Mila and Michael were both rank 3 talents who had an affinity for shadow magic. Isabell and James were both rank 4 talents with an affinity for dark magic. Only Layla had a rank 4 talent with an affinity for shadow magic like herself.

Soon everyone started discussing about magic but mainly about shadow magic and dark magic. After some time, Freya and Layla were discussing shadow magic by themselves as the others found it hard to fallow the conversation because their knowledge was not on the same level as theirs.

Perhaps because they were both talented and shared a passion for magic, Freya and Layla soon found themselves growing closer to one another. During the next two days 5 more people joined them before they were told to pack up their things as they would be leavening and would soon make their way to the Dark forest academy.
