Reign of Worm 3 First feast.

I feel nothing but trepidation as I squirm towards where I last saw the snake having its snack. It's quite easy to remember where to head, as I can still just barely sense some heat still lingering in the air. Did Mr.Snake not eat his food? Or did the other one, the bigger heat sense I saw heading towards the snake, not let him finish his snack. Oh well, no use guessing as I'll find out very soon.

Not long after, I'm already at the end of the tunnel. I tried a new movement technique during this trip, trying to be faster and it worked! I squirmed like a worm did and it was surprisingly fast, despite my bristles not grabbing the ground well. It seems worms do have some intelligence despite the distinct lack of advanced brain function. Oops, I just dissed my own kind. Speaking of, I wonder if I have a family? In biology I did learn worms were hermaphrodites…

SHIT! I'm not male?! Well I mean technically...

Okay, enough messing around, I'll have to find out if Mr. Snake is still here.

I'm very careful as I poke my head out the wall, peeking out before I realize I can't see in any one direction. I'm still not completely accustomed to this new body, great as it is. Anyway, I slowly and carefully worm my way out of the hole, straining my heat sense to the max. I do not want to get ambushed here. Once out I slowly approach the remnants of heat.

Slowly. Slowly. You've got this David. No need to fear or rush. Everything is fine. The heat can't bite you.

Phew! Made it! That was terrifying!

I investigate the heat source carefully, trying to figure out what it is, but mostly trying to not throw up at the thought of eating it. Oh well. Not much to be done, I need to get stronger, or I'll literally die. I'm not one to emphasize things, but as time goes on, I'll have to eat more and more dirt just to stay full. And after a certain point even dirt won't be able to satisfy me. Soon I'll have to eat more than just leftovers of a strong being. I'll have to fight and secure food in a way more savage way.

Anyway, after a little bit of consternation, I gather my courage and bulldoze into the remains of what I assume are the centipedes, eating them and digesting in one fell swoop. See, it's not so bad.

Blergh! Okay, I admit it. The taste is absolutely horrid. Nothing like human food. Oh, how I miss pizza…

Oh? It seems monsters really do give more Life Matter than dirt. This confirmed I enthusiastically continue to shove my mouth full of the acid centipedes, trying to gain as much Life Matter as possible.

Oh. It seems I can't get any more Life Matter out of these centipedes. Oh well, that was quite a harvest compared to the dirt. Though if I'm fair, the dirt wasn't of high quality. Dry, coarse, and with little to be gained from eating it, the dirt only serves as a defense for my little tunnel home, and skill grinding. Full I start heading back to my home base, creating a new tunnel a little farther down than the first one for safety and leveling.

Another level in Tunnel? I'm rolling in dough right now! Well dirt physically, but this is great! I speed up, wanting to head back to the nest before doing anything. Well, I might as well check my status as we go. Status!
