Chapter 16, Holiday

It was probably pure luck that the old woman's death didn't stir up any troubles. Everyone thought that the old woman had just fallen into the river because she lost her footing. The only one who witnessed the truth was that dog that couldn't speak. But when it came to Nie Haixia's case, Ye Zi was constantly worried that either her best friend or that blondie boyfriend would suspect him and tip off the police. After all, he had just been in conflict with them before what happened.

His heart was pounding and his body was teetering between feeling cold and hot, as if he had gone back to that rainy evening, completely drenched as he lay almost broken in his arms.

Feeling a little nervous, Ye Zi asked the class president, “I thought only our class was going? Why's that guy coming with?”

After finally figuring out who Ye Zi was talking about, and instantly poured out the tea. “What's this, you playing exclusive man? The only gay who didn't get a tan was Hare.

Ye Zi had just stepped under the shade to suck on his popsicle when he heard the girls talking about Hare.

Hare was walking over barefooted with the sun shining down on his body and the blue ocean waters behind him, reflecting beautiful web-like patterns. The mixture of blue and warm yellow actually made his skin look even more dazzlingly fair as they illuminated him.

He finally walked over and stood only two steps away from Ye Zi. Drops of seawater were flowing down his hair, dripping onto his firm shoulders before sliding past his collarbones, chest, and abs…

Ye Zi didn't want to look at it. He wanted to turn away.

But Hare suddenly came towards him, coming closer and closer. He even propped up an arm on the plastic chair that Ye Zi was leaning against.

Ye Zi's eyes widened in shock. There, just a single centimeter away from him was Hare's firm skin. They were so close that he could make out Hare's light body hair and fine pores. His chest and abs were really quite fit with an eight-pack to boot. Do all high schoolers get so developed these days? It almost seemed as if he could feel the power beneath his skin just by looking at it.

Hare's tall figure covered Ye Zi completely, and his unique scent flowed even stronger towards him…He really did smell good. He also noticed this smell when he carried him on his back last time.

Many times, Ye Zi wanted to push him away so he could catch his breath.

But everything happened so suddenly that his mind was still at a loss.

Either seawater or sweat was flowing down Hare's cheeks, down the fair skin of his jaw, and with a splash, it dropped onto Ye Zi's chest, still warm.

He smirked and simply said “thanks” before unscrewing the cap of the mineral water bottle, throwing his head back, and drank, his throat bobbing up and down the whole time.

The class president's voice rang out from behind Ye Zi. “My pleasure. Go ahead and drink, we still have plenty.”

So he just came to get water? Then why did he had to come so close…was it on purpose?

But he never looked at him from start to end. Not even a single glance.

Does that mean…it was an accident?

Tsk. He really had been overthinking things lately. He was just trying to grab something…Don't mind it, don't let it bother you. Just forget it.

While chanting that in his mind, Ye Zi calmed himself down and leaned back on the chair, ready to take a quick nap.

It was windy on the beach, and he had just taken a swim so he should be feeling cool, but he actually felt his body heating up more and more. He was sweating profusely as if he had just been stuffed into a steamer.

When he finally woke up, he was completely speechless as he found himself wrapped up nicely by a thick bath towel. Did they think he was a rice dumpling or something?

He tore the towel off and asked, “Who did this? Are you trying to kill me with the heat or something?”

The girls who were playing their cards at the side expressed that they had no idea.

Helpless, Ye Zi continued to sleep.

When he woke up again, he was surprised to find that his top was clothed and that his legs had been covered up with a towel.

Ye Zi rubbed his temples and looked at the only culprit he could think of, and their eyes just happened to collide.

Hare was frozen for a moment. Then, he turned away in an instant, continuing to pretend as if he were enjoying his drink and looking out over the sea, but his ears were slightly red.
