Obey Me Chapter 2.1

「This is ridiculous! It's all her fault, so why do you have to sustain yourself?!」

Kyrie smiled at Laura's letter which was evidently written in anger.

‘I must arrive and write back to her.'

At the order of her father, the head of the house, Kyrie is to be headed to the villa.

Count Buchanan's villa was on the southern coast of the continent, near the sea, just like any aristocrat would have.

She wanted to go somewhere anyway, so Kyrie set out on her journey, ignoring the heavy snow.

‘Winter seas are not bad either.'

The capital city of Arellano is gorgeous, but not comfortable. At every ball, people would always compare Kyrie and Rubinia individually.

[You've been acting like you're alone as if you can't do anything without a man, I can't help it. Miss Buchanan is no better than we think, I guess?]

[That's right. What's the point of doing a good job if you could only do as much? You failed in love……..]

[I can understand why the crown prince chose Ms. Cassner!]

They seemed happy that Kyrie, who had never made a gossip, would be heaped on the scandal.

Now that her engagement with Edwin has been broken off, it's all better now.

It would be better if Laura and Maria were around, but she couldn't be with them forever.

‘Good for you. Let's come back when it's a little quiet. I wish you two could get married in the meantime.'

In fact, Kyrie thought at first that Rubinia was better suited to Edwin than herself.

The cheerful and adorable Rubinia was lovely even for Kyrie but there was that one point when Kyrie felt reluctant towards Rubinia.

It was when Edwin said, “I will put down the name of Orewinbridge.”

At that point, a short moment where Rubinia stared at Edwin with a gruesome face can be seen.

The blatant feelings that were revealed for a short time were quickly replaced by her usual kind face, and with that Kyrie could no longer see the lovely Rubinia she thought.

It was from that moment when she began to step back against Rubinia because she thought it would be troublesome if she chose to do otherwise.

There were only two reasons why Kyrie obeyed the engagement order anyway.

It was an obsession to be resolute like a noble. And a false sense of responsibility that everything should be done for the sake of one's family

With the engagement broken off, Kyrie ironically felt free from the grasp of those two reasons.

‘It's all over now.'

While Kyrie was staring blankly at the snow falling, the carriage came to a stop.

Knock, knock

Someone knocked on the door of the carriage.

“What's going on?”

When Kyrie nodded her head, Anne-Marie, who was sitting near the door, opened the door.

It was Sir Valdir. He was the knight of Count Buchanan accompanied to escort Kyrie.

“Lady, there's a problem.”

“What's the matter, Sir Valdir?”

“Because of the heavy snow, it is difficult to move on any further. It would be better to find a place to rest.”

Behind Valdir stood their guide who was seemingly restless. The snow outside was thick enough to reach Valdir and the horseman's calves.

Kyrie sighed while MarryAnne covered her with a shawl.

“That's right. It would be better if we took a rest in the last town.”

Kyrie was feeling good earlier.

She was planning to stay in the previous village for a few days because she didn't feel good, but the guide told her that it was not time for heavy snow yet, so she asked him, the ‘expert', to do whatever he wanted.

And this is how it ended up.

It certainly wasn't the time for heavy snow, but the carriage was already isolated.

Valdir looked back at the guide with disapproving eyes, and Kyrie moved her seat near the door.

“Give me the map. Let's take countermeasures.”

“Yes, lady.”

She was already shivering with cold.

“The closest is the City of Envinique, Vermont, can we get there?”

“I think it will be difficult. To get to the city of Envinique, we had to go over the hills. The horses are already at their limit.”

“How about going back to the previous village?”

“There's already too much danger and there's a risk of an accident because the downhill is already frozen. “

“That's a big deal.”

Kyrie touched her forehead.

The carriage is enchanted with magic to protect them from the winter cold, but not all her personnel and knights can fit inside.

The snowfall was getting stronger and the carriage had to stop.

It was obvious that if they were to be delayed like this, they might face a dangerous situation.

“M-May I say something!”
