Chapter 320: Amethyst Bee Dao Army Formation

The mini island that the Wang Clan occupied in the Fallen Rift was called Ashen Mountain Island.

The Wang Clan had been on the island for centuries, and had set up extensive security with patrolling cultivators and protection array formations. After all, the Fallen Rift was a dangerous place so safety was guaranteed here.

At the center of the island was Ashen Mountain. Beneath the mountain was the island's one and only small spirit vein. On the mountain, the formation chassis that acted as the core of the island's protection array, was inside a cave-dwelling.

Four disciples were tasked with looking after the formation chassis. Two of them were in the Eighth Layer Blood Condensation Realm, while the other two were in the Ninth Layer Blood Condensation Realm.

"Brother Yi-Li, do you know where third uncle has gone today?"

One of the Eighth Layer Blood Condensation Realm disciples asked a Ninth Layer Blood Condensation Realm disciple.

Brother Yi-Li smirked, "Maybe he left to go out and find his lover. Hmm… which one would it be this time? I can't tell, third uncle has so many lovers that I can't even recognize them all."

The disciples burst into laughter. The other Ninth Layer Blood Condensation Realm disciple, who was slightly older-looking, quickly cleared his throat, and said, "Cut it out. Third uncle is at a meeting with the Zhang Clan and Li Clan."

The laughter stopped, and a moment later, the same disciple asked another question, this time to the older-looking disciple, "Brother Yi-Xiang, do you know what this meeting is about?"

Brother Yi-Xiang answered, "I don't know much, but I did hear that it's about Hong Ying, the Enlightened Master who recently advanced to the Core Forging Realm. My guess is that the clans aren't too happy with his expansion, so they're planning on taking him down. After all, his existence poses a threat to our Three Clans Alliance's control over the mini islands."

The other three disciples began to converse, ridiculing Hong Ying for being arrogant and ungrateful towards their Three Clans Alliance. However, there was a hint of deep jealousy in their eyes that was carefully hidden.

Suddenly, Yi-Xiang seemed to hear the sound of something breaking, but as the noise was obscured by his fellow disciples' conversation, he couldn't hear the sound clearly. He looked at his three chattering martial brothers, shook his head, and walked into the depths of the cave-dwelling on his own.

Despite Lu Dabao being the weakest spirit pet under Lu Ping, he was also the most valued one. However, Dabao would rather not be valued so much, because being valued meant that his responsibilities were plentiful and his freedom was constantly deprived by Lu Ping. When Dabao thought of the task given to him, he sighed deeply in sorrow.

Three days ago, as he was happily building his underground kingdom in the Golden House, Lu Ping had suddenly dragged him out and sent him on a mission with the snake trio to Ashen Mountain Island. For this mission Dabao had to dive into water which was something that he disliked the most, as well as accompany the snake trio that he feared the most.

After reaching the bottom of Ashen Mountain Island, Dabao created an underground passage leading into the cave-dwelling. The mission was to destroy the formation chassis and disable the island's protective formation.

As a Spirit Seeking Mouse, Dabao could easily pinpoint the direction of the spirit vein which was relevant because an important asset like the formation chassis would be placed in the location with the highest spiritual energy concentration.

If Dabao was traveling alone, he could easily reach the cave-dwelling in no time at all using [Earth Escape]. But, because Lu Ping asked him to also make a passage, he took an additional three days to complete the task, especially as there was a thick layer of rock underneath the cave-dwelling.

Crack—

The last piece of rock was drilled open, and Dabao heaved a long sigh of relief. Just as he was about to rest, he suddenly heard footsteps. He quivered in shock and quickly used [Earth Escape] to disappear seamlessly inside the cave-dwelling's stone walls.

Yi-Xiang walked into the depths of the cave-dwelling and his expression changed drastically after seeing a hole in the ground. He quickly turned his head to call for help, but a flash of green light shot out from the hole.

Bang—

Yi-Xiang noticed the green figure and he immediately cast his aegis energy. However, the green figure seemed to have already expected his response and shot out a mouthful of green venom while lunging forward, immediately corroding a large hole in the aegis energy layer.

The green figure, which revealed itself to be a small snake, lunged through the big hole and landed on Yi-Xiang's nape. Yi-Xiang murmured inaudibly, his eyes flared, and shortly afterwards he lost all signs of life.

After Lu Bi killed Brother Yi-Xiang, Lu Ling and Lu Hai casually slithered out of the hole. They hissed at the stone wall and Dabao poked his head out. He looked around and saw a corpse; only then was he confident enough to come out. He moved to collect Brother Yi-Xiang's interspatial pouch and hung it on his neck.

After that, the snake trio quietly slithered towards the outside of the cave. Dabao quickly followed them from a certain distance. Obviously, Dabao was preparing to run as soon as the fight broke out.

The other three disciples were still chatting outside of the cave, gloating about Hong Ying's fate, and envisioning the Wang Clan's harvests after plundering Crimson Shadow Island, unbeknownst to their impending fate.

The snake trio lunged out from the shadows and struck the oblivious disciples who had their backs to the cave-dwelling.

"What?"

"How dare you!"

"Poison!"

The three cultivators exclaimed in shock as the snake trio broke through their aegis energy with poison, biting their necks. The two Eighth Layer Blood Condensation Realm disciples died instantly.

However, the Ninth Layer Blood Condensation Realm disciple didn't fall like the others. When Lu Bi bit him, his skin suddenly turned pink and resisted the snake poison. It turned out that he had refined the Hundred Flowers Ominous Essence and acquired a degree of poison resistance.

Yi-Li calmed down and carefully assessed the situation. He realized that his only chance of survival was to alert the other cultivators on the island. But just as he turned to flee, a yellow light suddenly shone and a strange force pressed down on him, disrupting his balance.

Ordinarily, he would've been able to regain his balance almost instantly, but because he had used all his energy to suppress the poison, he didn't have any energy left to spare. The snake trio and Dabao then returned to the cave-dwelling and quickly located the formation chassis. Dabao hopped onto the formation chassis and sent his arcane energy into yellow light at his feet. In response, the formation chassis shone with a silver glow, trying to resist Dabao's arcane energy. The snake trio acted immediately, lashing out with their tails, shattering the silver light.

Dabao's earth-element arcane energy stomped on the formation chassis, causing it to crack and subsequently crumble into pieces.

Krong—

The island's protective array formation had been destroyed. While the Wang Clan disciples on the island were confused by the sudden change, more than a hundred cultivators appeared in the sky and boarded the island from three different directions.

"Enemy ambush!"

Cries of alarm and panic spread across the island, creating a chaotic scene that destroyed the Wang Clan disciples' battle morale!

To the east, Ye Bu-Qi led his brothers and 42 other cultivators, forming eight battle formations.

The drumstick struck the copper drum causing the swarm of Amethyst Bees to move into a drill formation. Wu Yan continued striking the drum as the bee formation struck towards the Wang Clan disciples

This was the Dao army formation that Lu Ping had been training the Amethyst Bees in, and this was its first debut!
