Moonlight Drawn by Clouds Volume 1 Chapter 13

This was truly an event that happened in an instant. Like a drop of rain falling from the eaves, it was a short moment. Like a lightening bolt. The time Young's lips touched Raon's lips was that short.

However...... Still...... It was a kiss. Her first kiss at that.

Flower Scholar had snatched away something she had not shared with her dear future husband. Raon sprang up from her seat and looked down at Young with resentment.

"Just now...... What are you doing?"

"You had wounds, so I was just looking at them."

"Liar......"

"What?"

"Didn't you have other intentions?"

Raon spoke as she was examining the fastenings on her clothes. As usual, Young furrowed his brow. After watching Raon for a moment, Young asked in disbelief.

"Seriously......Do you think that I wanted to do something to you?"

"......Didn't you?"

At Raon's hesitant question, Young responded resolutely.

"I have standards."

Didn't that feel like he was saying 'You aren't up to my standards'?

"Then how do you explain this situation?"

"It was an accident."

"An accident?"

"Yes, a coincidental, unexplainable accident. I was looking at the wounds on your face, and you coincidentally turned and got up. An unforeseen accident."

"Wasn't it done intentionally and not an unforeseen accident?"

Raon glowered and didn't hide her suspicions.

"Intentionally?"

"Well, because......"

Flower Scholar likes men.

Unable to finish her sentence, Raon couldn't do anything else but brood. But no matter how much she brooded over it, she couldn't help but feel wronged. Young quickly turned his back on the brooding Raon and spoke.

"You're a man, yet you are quite naggy about something insignificant like this. I thought you only looked like a girl, but even your actions are like that of a girl."

"......"

"I'm not exactly happy about this either, so stop making that victimized expression."

"Huh......"

I'm the one that has a right to be unhappy!

But if she continued this here, she would raise suspicions about her gender. Therefore Raon could only keep her mouth shut. But her heart was screaming out in anger.

Of all people...... it was Flower Scholar. Of all people...... her first kiss was given to a man who loved men. And not just that...... Having kissed a man like that, her heart was inappropriately pounding in her chest."

---

After turning his back on an upset Raon, Young looked outside. Then he began to rub his mouth with the back of his hand.

A kiss with a man... It was an unpleasant accident. However, even though it was an unpleasant accident, it was strangely not a bad feeling.

"Seriously......"

At this subtle feeling that he could not understand, Young was confused. However, Young held in his true thoughts and just looked out at the sky.

---

How much time had passed like this? Her victimized feeling had waned, but a new feeling of awkwardness came over Raon. She couldn't stop remembering how Young's lips brushed against her lips, and her cheeks reddened.

"Hmmhmm."

Raon cleared her throat to dispel this uselessly awkward mood. At this, Young, who had been looking outside this whole time, turned around and looked at her.

"She's here again."

"What do you mean?"

"The girl that was crying in the pavilion. She's here again."

Young gestured toward the weed-infested yard of JaSunDang. Across the yard, something faded into view like a fog.

"Are you sure it's the same girl?"

Raon stretched out her neck, and Young silently nodded. At this, Raon hurriedly left the room. She was starting to feel awkward being in the same room as Young. Thankfully, a reason to leave had appeared.

"Where are you going?"

"Didn't I tell you last time? I want to ask her why she's crying. She's here now, so I'm going to ask."

---

Raon tip-toed as she followed WolHee, who was wearing her white mourning dress. Carefully, carefully, Raon held her breath. Like that, Raon followed her into the familiar pavilion east of the JaSunDang. Underneath the milky way that looked like a meteor shower, WolHee stood completely still under the moonlight. She cautiously looked around.

Hidden in the dense grass, Raon watched over WolHee with eyes full of curiosity. WolHee had run away last time, so Raon didn't think she'd see her here again. But for some reason she appeared here again.

Just what is she planning on doing here?

While Raon was pondering this, WolHee, assured that no one was watching her, placed the thing she had been clutching to her chest onto the pavilion banister. It was a bowl of clear water. WolHee handled it as if it was the most important thing in the world. She positioned the bowl a few times carefully. When the moon was perfectly reflected in the water in the bowl, WolHee was finally satisfied and stopped positioning the bowl. It seemed like that was the end, but it wasn't.

Now WolHee began tidying her clothes. She dusted off the white mourning dress and tightened the loose bow on her jeogori. Then she sank to her knees. She tilted her tiny face up to the moonlight falling from the sky. Tears began to flow out of her large eyes.

"Heuk...... Heukheuk."

The cute, and a bit comical, string of actions earlier were all preparing to lead up to her sorrowful weeping. Watching over all this, Raon became astonished. This sudden cry in the night, it was definitely...... It was all for the sake of someone who had passed away. Raon suddenly recalled Young's words.

'Crying in her mourning clothes in the middle of the night in a place no one goes to... there can only be one reason.'

Flower Scholar had known all along. That this girl... She was crying for a spirit that had left this world.

Raon couldn't help but admire Young's sharp observation skills. She didn't take her eyes off WolHee. Her small shoulders were shaking with her sobs like a leaf in the wind. From the back, the sobbing girl reminded Raon of her own younger sister.

Don't cry, don't cry.

"Please don't cry."

Raon unknowingly went into the pavilion and whispered in WolHee's direction.
