We separated from Mikihiko and headed south along the highway and came to Serrata.

It was a smooth process and we didn’t have any problems.

Since there was a large number of people when we moved north, the walking speed was inevitably affected. In addition, we were often found by monsters. But this time, there was no such thing.

I didn’t stop by in any of the villages except to buy supplies. It took about two-thirds of the time required.

Regarding Silane, she was shocked when the Knights disbanded. I was worried about her, but it seems that I didn’t need to be worried.

She regained her calmness the same day Mikihiko and the other knights left us.

Rather, I was so excited that it was my mission to take her to Kaitaku Village.

Despite being not as big as Serratta, we arrived at a large town where the highway intersects the north, south, east, and west. We purchased supplies there, then made our way to the west.

In the southwest of the Count of Lawrence, one of the five northern regions, Kedlus, is in contact.

On the border between the empire of the Count of Lawrence and Kedlus, there is a steep mountain range called Kitrus Mountains. There are several paths to those mountains.

There is an old mountain road.

During the battle between the empire and the alliance, both troops were trying to pass through this land, but collided with each other and became a battlefield, which led to the creation of a new road. Now, it is hardly used.

The location near Jukai is very dangerous and people will encounter monsters. There are no merchants heading towards a remote small country, even if they purposely go over a steep mountain.

Monsters are rarely subjugated because not much people go through that mountain.

As a result, the Kitrus Mountains have become a dangerous area where many monsters inhabit.

However, it’s also a disappointing story for the one who leads the monster.

Dangerous land also means that there are few people.

I was driving slowly on the podium today.

The road running through the trees is thin.

The car loud sounds because the condition of the road’s surface is not good.

The road to Fort Cilia is a military road. The roads that diverge from it are laid to carry the missing supplies to the settlement village at the end of the human world…

While listening to the rattling sounds of the wheels ringing, part of my consciousness naturally flowed into my thoughts.

What came to my mind was the face of a friend who broke up with me 10 days ago.

…… What are Mikihiko and the other people doing?

I should have arrived at Serratta properly.

Half a day from the parting place to the town, and another half day from there to the city. If you’re really unlucky, you might be attacked by monsters, but since there are two allied knights, you shouldn’t have to worry.

If you were able to join the leader properly, it may be during the time that you are being escorted from the Serrata to the Imperial City.

Mikihiko is a smart person. If possible, Taichi Miyoshi and other transferees who had stayed at a different place in town might be on our side.

“Oh, master. I guess that’s the way it is.”

Lily, who sat next to the Odaidai, quickly found a sign on the side of the road and alerted me.

Apparently it seemed that I was at my destination.

I decided to visit a certain settlement village before stepping into the Kitrus Mountains.

ㆍ Unlike the pioneering village along the highway that connects Fort Cilia and Serratta, it is a small village with no troops stationed there.

According to what I heard at the village I stopped by before, it seems that this village is the closest to the mountain path.

There is no village beyond this point.

This is the last time I get to buy supplies. It would take time to cross the mountain, so I wanted to secure food if possible.

“I hope the food here doesn’t cost as much. “

“Even if we can’t buy any food, I won’t be depressed. In case of an emergency, I will hunt for the food if needed.”

“It would be a pity if we had to go back to eating dried meat …”

To buy supplies, me, Lily, and Kay decided to leave the car and walk to the village.

If we were to line up the strong fighters in our group from strongest to weakest, the order would go Gerbera, Silane, Lily, and then Rose.

The only ones among them who could walk amongst humans without issue, however, were Silane and Lily.

By splitting the two into separate groups, they would be able to fight off a monster should one attack without having to worry about someone seeing them.

Kei is accompanying us because she is the only one that can use the translation magic stone.

She was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. She put her hood over her head and followed us.

I’m still learning how to handle the translation stone, but since it takes time to learn, I’m not in a hurry at the moment, so I postponed my lessons.

“Huh? Master, somebody is running towards us.”

The incident happened shortly after hiding the car in the woods along the road, which was separated from the rest of the village.

I found a man desperately running towards me.

He said that he was a villager in the pioneering village, and I heard that he encountered a monster when he left the village with his friends in order to cut down the trees in the forest and was running away from the monster.

The forest around here is just a forest with no magical powers.

However, it is not uncommon to encounter monsters because it is in a place where it reaches the sea of trees if you walk for about an hour.

We persuaded the screaming man to take us to the Kaitaku Village. After sending the man to the village, we saw the figure of the giant “Wild Ogre” whose height was over three meters.

It had a gorilllike body with small legs and long arms, but the body had muscular ridges, little body hair and green skin. The beast’s fur was wrapped around the lower half of the body.

It was bald, which made his head look smaller and closer to that of a human. Its ears were sharp, and only the lower canines on the large lower jaw were protruding out of the mouth.

Wild ogre roamed around the village as it probed the gaps of the defenses, occasionally trying to break the walls of the village.

From the village, the people shot arrows at the wild ogre.

This was only causing some slight damage to the wild ogre.

Wild Ogres are almost as strong as Green Caterpillars.

Wild Ogres were considered high-ranking monsters in the Surface layer of the Sea of Trees

It’d be nice if it just stopped attacking the village and went elsewhere, but there was a chance it would lose itself in rage over its injuries and charge at the village. Even if they managed the villagers managed to kill the ogre, it was highly likely they would lose several people from attacking the ogre.

Despite that, each time it broke a tree with its burly arms and threw it at the protective wall, it got damaged, and it looked like some people were injured.

Though we were completely unrelated to the village, that didn’t mean we would just let it be destroyed.

“Lily. It’s a bit far, but could you do it?”

My words also implied to not close the distance.

Even if she jumped into the danger zone, which was around the Wild Ogre, she would escape with only superficial injuries. However, getting out unscathed would be a bit too eye-catching.
