/ Maiden of the Twilight 7 CHAPTER SIX
"Nothing yet." I replied. I could see that they were getting tired of waiting, and so was Belerick who was making flowers bloom by the lake. I kept on meditating, I meditated so long. It was for so long that I got lost in the depths of my thoughts and saw a very familiar scene. It was like the scene before I woke up. It was twilight, a mixture of dark and light, and it can't be told if it was dawn or dusk. I was floating, then I landed on some kind of invisible ground. How strange! What is this place? Everything felt so remote. Then I heard the voice I was looking for.
"Lunox, my child. Do you hear me?"
"Yes, I hear you. Who are you?"
"Lunox, we meet again, my little one."
"Where am I? What is this place? Why can't I see you?"
"I am but a voice, Lunox. I am your guide, though you shall see my true form soon. And we don't have much time."
"Time? For what?"

"You must listen carefully, little one. You must find me."
"But you're just a dream."
"I am real, Lunox. You have the power to project and enter dreamworlds, just like this one. You entered your most powerful dreamworld, the Twilight. Search for me, little one. Come to me, and maybe here, you will remember your true identity."
And suddenly everything went fuzzy and everything gave a very bright glow that I closed my eyes. And in an instant, everything faded and I was back to reality.
"Lunox? Lunox! Are you okay?" Belerick went to me as soon as he saw me, worried.
"Yes I am."
"You were gone for a bit, and you came back. Where did you go?" It was obvious on Belerick's face his anxiety that I would be gone. Harith and Nana were just returning from within the grove of trees in the Oasis.
"Oh, you're back!" - Nana
"We thought you went missing!" – Harith
"I'm sorry. But it appears I can project my dream or enter into them if I wanted. That's where I went just a moment go. The voice told me so. And it is calling me to go somewhere. Maybe, the place that has the answer to all of my questions." Realizing that I have the power to project and enter dreamworlds, I found the reason why my dreams are a lot more vivid than fantasy.
But then, Belerick's vines started to tingle. He was sensing something, and I could tell that it's bad by the way the vines were tingling. "I sense the pressing of evils. We must leave now!" Belerick put me on his back and he started to run while Harith and Nana followed. We were on our way towards the Misty Mountains, as it was suggested by Harith and Nana for they thought that it was the place the voice has told me about. They said that an ancient race still thrives there, so Belerick and I agreed to their decision.
When we thought that the evil is far away, Belerick dropped me off and we started to walk. We were on top of a mountain which we need to cross over to get to the Misty Mountains. Eruditio, the City of Scholars and where technology is progressively advancing, can be seen on the side of the cliff. It was so beautiful to watch.
"Careful nana, don't drop Molina." Said Harith who caught Nana who almost tripped on a rock.
"Thank you, Harith." She said when she was in the arms of Harith. Then their eyes met followed by the red blush that can be seen on each of their faces. Nana and Harith fixed up theirselves after feling awkward and shy with each other. Awe, they were so cute together.
"You should've been more careful." – Harith
"Okay, I'll try. You know I'm a bit clumsy." – Nana
We were almost at the center of the Misty Mountains. As we continued to walk, I heard a gooey sound, realizing that it was a blood orb heading towards our direction. We didn't know where it came from, but I knew who did it, that Alice can only be the one to conjure such powerful blood magic.
I was supposed to be struck, but Nana was caught this blood orb, saving me, and lost some of her energy. And she couldn't fight, she was hurt too much. The blood orb continuously floated in the air, and then a woman appeared in the place where the orb stopped. It was Alice.
"Not so fast, mongrels. I have come to stop you." She said holding an evil grin on her crimson red lips.
"Alice! Get away, before we make moosh of you!" Harith, who was assisting Nana get aside, angrily screamed to Alice.
"Stay here, okay? We shall defeat this Queen of Apocalypse." – Harith
"Okay, I shall send Molina to help you fight her." Harith smiled as he heard the reply of Nana.
"And what are you gonna do? Little cats? Scratch me? Oh, I'm so scared." Then Alice conjured multiple blood orbs and sent them flying towards Nana and Harith. Alice blinked near the both of them and was almost to touch Harith when Nana's Molina transformed Alice for some seconds making Harith able to cast his powers. "Zaman Force!" Harith began dashing and dashing as he casted a fission of light and a ball of energy. It dealt massive damage, but it did not seem to hurt Alice as she just regained more strength from him through her bloodsucking state. Belerick aided Harith through immobilizing Alice using his vines, which gave ample time for Harith to get out of Alice's range. Belerick casted an energy field around him, and he absorbed the damage from Alice instead of Harith, while returning that damage to Alice. But it did not do good at all. Alice was too strong for the both of them. Belerick and Harith lost their mana, and could not do keep up any longer.
"What? Out of tricks?" Alice confidently said to the exhausted Belerick and Harith. If only I could help them, but I could not use my powers yet. I haven't learned to. All I can cast is a fragment of that chaotic power I released the other night. Maybe I should atleast try. "As for you, prophesied one." Alice turned to me and walked, "You will join our side whether you like it, or not. You're too powerful to be dealt with, and it must be so good to have someone like you fight for us."
She was approaching me, so I intended to defend myself. I concentrated so hard so I could cast a spell just like the night with the shadow creatures. "Stay back!" And I threw a dark ball of energy at her, unlike the immense power I unleashed that night, this was weaker. But the damage it caused Alice was enough to knock her to the ground. I never expected a spell from me so powerful like that.
"How dare you! You asked for it! Hya!" then Alice casted a stream of blood, and threw the orb towards me which inflicted on me pain. "Two can play at that game. Ooh, the energy from you is something." She absorbed some of my energy, which weakened me. I did not know what to do, I laid on my knees as I continued to weaken.
I wanted it all to stop, I wanted to do something that will strengthen me, but nothing I did helped. Throwing energy balls did damage her, but she just absorbed more energy from me as she was in her bloodsucking state. And when she was to lay her hands on me, the Twilight Orb I sealed within me had appeared in front of my chest and once again, two energy forces surrounded me, just like it did during the assault at the castle. I chose to calm down, and for some reason, when I thought of regenerating my strength, I released a ray of starlight and regained my strength. I did not know how I did that, but I knew how it felt. It made me stronger. I focused to cast such spell again, and for the second time I released a ray of starlight. Alice was anxious.
"N-no! Your energy must be drained by now! H-how are you doing that?!"
I looked at her, and for the third time I cast the ray of starlight and by then, a halo appeared on my forehead and I unleashed a power different from the destructive one I casted. I generated myself an invulnerable state, Alice could no longer touch me or inflict her spells upon me. They were wasted, and I was in that state for some time. By the time I got back to my true form, I stood firmly and looked at her eyes with no expression on my face.
"Go away, now!" I concentrated and conjured a dark ball of energy on top of my hand. I was getting a hang of conjuring dark energy balls. At that time, I can use my powers already, even though I still can't control and understand them fully, at least, I knew I had them and I was able to put them into use. "Or face the consequences!"
Alice was moved in fear. For the first time, I saw how afraid she was on her face. And then not long after, "Remember this day, Lunox! I shall return!" In an instant, Alice faded away with her blood orbs as she flew. I looked at the others, and they seemed okay, but then everything went black.

The warmth of fire woke me up. I could feel my head lying on something soft, when I opened my eyes, I learned that I was lying on the back of Belerick. I got up to see Nana and Harith resting and talking to each other by the campfire. They saw me awake and so they called out to me.
"Lunox!" - Nana
"We're glad your awake!" – Harith
I went down from Belerick's back, who was awake the whole time. "We all are." Said Belerick. I smiled in return of their happy gestures towards me. But when I looked around, I saw caves by the walls of rock, which looked like to have served as homes to some kind of creatures. I asked Belerick where we were and he said that we were where we meant to go, the Misty Mountains. It appeared that we were rescued by the race that lived here, Centaurs. Belerick told me everything that had happened after I lost consciousness, and the Centaurs found us in our recent condition so they brought us here to recover.
"So that's what happened." I said in awe.
"I've been waiting for you, Lunox." I turned around when I heard a deep voice, to see a Centaur approaching me. "I've been waiting for so long. Is it really you?" By the way he talked to me, it seemed like he knew me for a long time. But I do not recall him.
"Have we met, Mr…. what is your name, sir?"
"So nice to have you back. And yes, we already met… a long long time ago." He seemed to know something about my past. The decision to go here is not a waste of time, I was so thankful. "My name is Hylos. Leader of the Centaurs."
"Hello, Hylos. Uhm, tell me do you know anything about my past?" I immediately asked. Belerick, Nana, and Harith formed a semi-circle to surround us, and listen to juicy information. They looked so interested by what Hylos is going to tell us.
"But first, we want to thank you for helping us." Harith interrupted with a smile on his face.
"It's my pleasure." Hylos replied, then he faced me. "Lunox, I know what you are. You are the one who stopped the war a very long time ago."
"War? War between what?" Asked Nana? It made sense that Harith and Nana would not have known a lot of information about me since they're still young. And Nana was so interested in learning so much, and I found it very thoughtful and cute at the same time.
"Order and Chaos, little one. During the ancient was between Order and Chaos, a bizarre power appeared out of nowhere. It intervened the battle, led to a temporary truce, and saved the ancient races from demise. You Lunox, hold that power." Hylos pointed at me.
"What power? What did I do then?" It felt that everything was getting clearer and clearer, my questions were answered little by little. Now I know that I hold great power, that I hold the Twilight Orb, and that I wear both colors of dark and light – though I still don't fully understand what it meant, whether I'm a part of the light or a part of the dark. What more could there be?
"I was protecting the Origin back then, so I don't know the details." When Hylos said that, I couldn't keep my disappointment. I thought we were getting so close to what I was looking for. But it appeared we were not there yet. "I'm sorry, Lunox. But that is all I can tell you."
"It's okay, Hylos. What you have said is big help for me in discovering myself. I'm grateful." I smiled.
"Then, I'm glad that I helped." Hylos smiled in return. A mysterious power? Maybe that was the voice that has been talking to me. "Belerick, Nana, Harith, do take care of Lunox. You'll find the answer in the future."
Harith, Nana and Belerick swore to Hylos to take good care of me. I was touched, knowing that a lot of people care for me. Even though all I have caused them is danger, they were still willing to risk themselves for me. I'm beyond grateful.
After eating supper prepared by the Centaurs, we spent the night there and the next morning waved them goodbye and headed to Necrokeep. I've decided to help the men save Odette because time is running out. We must retrieve Odette before it's too late. Belerick asked me countless times to reassure that I stood firm with my decision, and I was. I want to save Odette, and I want to see for myself if I can use my powers during battles. I feel the Twilight Orb within me, and the two energy forces that I hold. I want to understand how they work in fights, so I will take the opportunity of saving the Princess.

"Azure Lake ahead." Belerick said which drew our attention. A lake? I wanted to see a lake. I want to see its marvelous beauty. When Belerick stopped for a bit, Harith and Nana climed on the back of Belerick while I stood beside him.
"Wow. Look how the sun shines on the water." - Nana
"It's so beautiful." - Harith
I felt bliss inside my heart. The horizon gave me the feeling like I never left Swan Castle, the lake had the same vibe as Swan Lake. The water is so blue, and the nature surrounding it was eye-catching. I gave me a relaxing sensation. I breathed deep in and out, when Belerick's vines began to tingle. "Someone is lurking in the trees, watching us."
"What? Where Belerick?" exclaimed Harith. And then, two flaming scythes rolled over towards our way then out of the bushes and trees came out fire trolls and the Lord Lava, Thamuz. The burnt the all the flowers and plants on their way, it was devastating.
"Haha! I know you're here! See that black color on you?! You are one of us!" Thamuz referred to me. What he said left me confused once again. Since I wear both colors of darkness and light, am I good or evil? Am I a part of the darkness or light? How come? I am not evil like them. "Get them! Lunox, you're mine today! You belong to the darkness!"
"Don't believe him Lunox! You're part of light! You belong to us!" Belerick argued. Thamuz and Belerick kept arguing, while Nana and Harith engaged themselves for an incoming fight. I knew they were strong, but what bothered me is that we were outnumbered. There were more of them than us. It was impossible for us to win. I felt like I had to do something, but I couldn't cast spells unless the Twilight Orb had appeared and it didn't even I tried hard. What am I supposed to do?
"Halt! I knew it! Selena has told the Dark Abyss Warriors about the Twilight Orb! You'll never deceive Lunox!" An army came to the rescue and fought the fire trolls, led by General Tigreal. To my surprise it was the rescue squad for Odette. But what were they doing there? "Lunox, go! Go ask the Ancient Race, they must know your past!"
"But why are you here? Why aren't you saving Odette?!" I screamed. They must have rescued Odette by now, but to my concern, what had happened to that plan?
"Long story! Go to Mount Rantes, it's where you'll find them! We will catch up with you later!" Tigreal and the army kept Thamuz hold their ground. "Kimmy, go with them! Protect our prophesied one!"
"Oh my days, I will!" The blonde tomboyish flying woman with a gun was sent to go with us. By the way he fought just a moment a go, she knew how to aim her gun. She dealt so much damage, that's maybe why Tigreal sent her with us. I appreciated that. "You heard the captain, let's go!" She said when she approached us.
The five of us moved as fast as we can in order to go to Mount Rantes. As we went, we checked our backs to see if anyone followed, but no one did. We went through a forest. It wasn't that far from Azure lake, so we arrived there not long. We arrived at a ruins. It was obvious that nature has taken over the old structures. We looked around, searching for anything that could help us. There were old rock buildings and monuments.
And at a certain moment, the ground shook. The five of us panicked as we did not know what was happening. Then we saw a giant stone creature walking our way, and we seemed to have blocked its path when it said, "Don't hinder me from advancing. I must find the whereabouts of the ancient masters."
"Excuse us, mister." Kimmy confidently approached and asked the creature.
"I'm not a mister, my name is Grock." The creature reproached the title used by Kimmy, who was surprised by the way the creature replied.
"Okay, let me repeat myself. Excuse us, Grock. But we're looking for someone who could tell us about the prophecy." Quietness filled the air for a moment. The five of us looked at each other and shrugged. That's funny, a rock creature who was acting like a rock. Grock did not move for quite some time, and when he did, he replied. "Horror Castle…Horror Castle has everything you want to know."
Grock went on his way. "Hey, wait! Grock! Wait a minute!" Kimmy called out to Grock but it seemed like Grock couldn't hear her. The five of us were left at the ruins, left hanging. "Okay, so what now? Where is this Horror Castle anyway? Haven't hear of it." Asked Kimmy.
"Horror Castle…" Belerick spoke which caught all our attention, "Horror Castle is also known as the Fortress of Despair."
Harith and Nana gasped. Hmm, Fortress of Despair. Wait, I think I heard it before. Where did I hear it? Oh wait, it was … "Do you mean where Odette was taken?" I suddenly said out of shock. Belerick nodded in response. No, this cannot be. This only means one thing. Then I must help save Odette and retrieve my memories at such a horrifying place, at the same time. Ok, no pressure.
