The moment the bullet was loaded, Kyle turned back to the assassin. The man then pointed to his right flank. “I just tore off your waist just as much as you broke my shoulder. Even if you say that, you can't be fine. Am I right?

“It's not hard to move my limbs, unlike you with your right arm blown away.” Kyle remained passive. Minor injuries were frequent at least five to six times during an investigation and most of his investigations were related to violent crimes.

He lifted the chip from the recorder. “Everything you want to hide is in here. If Tezeba's headquarters do a little more research, you know it's not a big deal to unearth every secret of yours.”

The man only glared at Kyle, throwing insults at him.

“Who commissioned the murder of Eleonora Asil and the surveillance of Lenia Valtalere. How far is Yulem involved in this matter, and what kind of experiments is Yulem doing with his people? What the hell are those scraps of metal I shot?”

Kyle had found two scars on the back of his ear. One was a trace of the implantation of Yulem's self-destructive chip, and the other was a scar of the shape he had never seen before — a precise cut of the letter 'R'.

The man clenched his teeth, clasping a dagger in his left hand, which shone against the dark.

Kyle slowly stepped back into the corridor used by the sailors. His wound had already stained his uniform with blood.

Ah, I'll be in trouble if she sees me in this condition.

He continued to withdraw towards the sailor's corridor, which Noah had been a few moments ago, remembering the woman, who scolded him in extreme worry and yet managed to hit his wound precisely.

It was amazing how her words and actions could be the exact opposite, but it was more strange to see her in tears while checking his condition. Fortunately, the tiresome woman looked relieved and did not even think of taking his uniform off.

Kyle pressed his hand against his injury; he was quite irritated. He wondered whether or not Noah was really worried if he was hurt, and if she did, she could have at least looked fine herself.

…Mu seemed to have noticed.

While Kyle was lost in thoughts, which didn't exactly fit his present situation, he arrived at a door. Then, he felt the presence of someone else approaching quietly across the hallway.

The man holding the dagger muttered grimly. “…Take it. Take that chip away and throw it into the sea.”

Two shadows rushed back and forth toward him.

The place where the barrier was destroyed was the deck where the sailor had resided. Perhaps it was situated on the second floor of the ferry. Since there was no lift from the deck of the sailor's residence to the deck used by passengers, Noah and Muell continued to climb the stairs. Somehow, the ceiling of the mana operating room seemed so high, but the way up was indeed very high from the bottom.

“Ah…” Just as Noah was about to climb on the last step, wailing loudly, she could hear a faint sound of something falling and crashing from down below. She eased her ragged breaths and listened intently to the noise.

The next moment, a gunfire boomed downstairs. It seemed there was another fight.

She took a deep breath and then climbed onto the last step. Similar to the previous entrance, there also stood an iron gate before them, which seemed to be used by second-class passengers.

Bang! Another gunshot rang and soon, silence followed.

All Noah could hear amidst the quiet was the sound of her erratic heartbeat. She inserted the key to the lock and it unfastened with a click. The door opened. The hall appeared less glamorous than the first-class room, but it was much more luxurious than the floor the workers used. Suddenly, Noah was forced to a halt.

All the people in the hall were gathered in twos and threes, chattering.

“What the hell is going on? Why did the ship stop?”

“It's been stuck for hours… Isn't there something wrong with the engine?”

By dawn, it was presumed that the passengers wouldn't notice; however, many had already begun to be suspicious.

A lady grabbed a waiter and pried, “What happened? Then, we won't be able to get to Tezeba by the morning after tomorrow?”

“Madame, give me a moment to figure things out. We haven't received anything from Captain yet.”

Noah and Muell sneaked past the employee, who answered in a flustered manner. If commotion within the passengers were to escalate, it wouldn't be easy for Kyle to subdue their opponents.

But, before Kyle, Noah posed even more difficulty. The shawl that had been concealing her apricot hair had already fallen from her head somewhere in the mana operating room a long while ago.
