I Have Decided to Go Look for My Father Chapter 115

Chapter 115 – He hung up on Gao Zifan before he could say anything else. (2)

“Gao Zifan was the one who dragged you down and he had the audacity to accuse you for distracting him!” Someone blurted out disgruntedly.

“Exactly. I figured those from Liming had also checked on yours and Gao Zifan's scores by now and were too embarrassed now to even look at you.”

Is that so?

Gu Shao looked over in Liming's direction and, sure enough, those from Liming lowered their heads even more.

Suddenly, a tall junior boy from Liming stood up and walked over to Gu Xi. He said to her with embarrassment, “I'm sorry. I had misunderstood you last year.”

He was both upset and embarrassed when he recalled what had happened the year before – he was here last year as well and, after the scores from the final round was announced, Gao Zifan told them behind their teachers' backs that the reason they scored so low was because Gu Xi did not work with him and the two of them worked on the same set of problems and their final score was low because one of them made too many mistakes.

At the time, everybody sided with Gao Zifan without a doubt. They felt that Gu Xi wasn't being a team player and dragged them down and, as such, they began ostracizing Gu Xi.

Who would have thought that the truth was the exact opposite?

Their faces now hurt as matter-of-factly as they felt a year ago.

When he was done talking, the boy walked straight out of the wait area without daring to look at Gu Xi again. He did not wait for Gao Zifan and Yu Fangfang, who hadn't been out yet.

It was all the way until the competition was over and the answering system was shut off when Gao Zifan had no choice but to stop, tossed his pen in an unreconciled way, and frantically balled up all of his scratch papers and tossed them away. Urged repeatedly by the workers, he finally left the venue with the other remaining individuals.

Gao Zifan had a bad feeling about this competition. He didn't know the score yet but he could feel that he did not do well; perhaps even worse than how he did the year before.

Last year he was influenced by Gu Xi, as was this year.

The idea of competing with Gu Xi made him nervous. And the more nervous he was, the worse he did.

“Gosh darn it!” cussed Gao Zifan with a long face.

Gao Zifan finally put away his long face before he walked into the wait area and started to prepare for his excuse in his mind.

In the wait area, some of the schools with all of their members had already departed and some others remained behind.

Gao Zifan walked over to Liming's area and found it odd that Lin Anxin and another junior were missing. There were only four others there. In addition, both the teachers and his schoolmates were looking at him oddly.

Gao Zifan felt that something was off but still forced a disappointed and angry look on himself as he started saying, “I apologize. We may not have done very well this time. The school next to us kept on distracting us. I wonder if we could file a complaint with the organizer.”

Gao Zifan looked so serious when he said it that, had the others not known the truth ahead of time, they would probably buy into what he was saying.

The teachers who were there frowned when they heard him and the other four students busted out laughing sarcastically.

“Gao Zifan, it's fine that you just didn't do well but you don't need to blame that on someone else,” said someone angrily at Gao Zifan, with a look of contempt.

– Gao Zifan was referred to HSAU when he said the school next to them.

They had all seen it clearly from the surveillance video. Gu Xi and Sheng Xiuyan worked on their own questions quietly the entire time. They didn't have the time to distract anyone. Gao Zifan, on the other hand, toss his pen and balled up his scratch paper, greatly distracting Yu Fangfang.

“Your not being able to perform and trying to blame it on someone else is disgusting,” sneered someone else.

“What do you mean by that, Yang Jing?”
