Game of the Monarch Chapter 229– A Knight's Honor (1)

This was meddling. This was different from before when they had been fighting three-on-three. Without a word, Jerome approached to examine Milton’s condition and to help him up. Then he stared fiercely at both Duke Sebastian and Duke Schweiker.

Neither of them could say a single word of apology. A teacher who had taught to treat honor with importance and a disciple who respected that lesson. What could the two of them dare say?

They could do nothing until Jerome had assisted Milton back to their side of the battlefield. Their shame was too great to even consider attacking Jerome to prioritize their own benefits from this battle.

Once Milton had been taken back, Duke Schweiker spoke heavily.

“We should return as well, sir. It seems like this is it for today.”

Antras sighed after hearing the rough explanation from Duke Sebastian, who had returned to the camp.

Sebastian couldn’t say the last part of his sentence, but Antras was convinced that Milton probably hadn’t died.

‘I don’t know who the strategist is for the Lester Kingdom, but they’ve made a big mistake. I’ll show them why cutting off their own retreat is a double-edged sword.’

“How is Trike doing?”

The first thing Milon asked as soon as he regained his consciousness was about his subordinate’s condition.

“From what Jerome said, yah just about won but then someone butted in.”

“Someone intervened? Who?”

“Hm… He told me but ah forgot.”

Milton sighed.

“I’m guessing it was most likely Duke Florian.”

“Now that ah think about it, think that was the name.”

Bianca was giving him a completely wrong answer. Milton clicked his tongue.

“Tsk, he didn’t look like the good sort when he openly wanted merit from the very beginning, but I didn’t expect him to be that small-minded. What a contemptible and disgusting man.”

“There’s a lot of assholes in the world.”

All of a sudden, Duke Florian was unjustly blamed.

Milton clenched his fist at her reply.

“Call Sabian over for me.”

Bianca shouted at him as she left the barracks. Feeling sheepish, Milton had a servant bring Count Sabian over.

“How are you feeling, My Lord?”

“I’m fine. More importantly, how’s the operation going, Sabian?”

“You’ve earned us a day with your body, My Lord. All without sacrificing the soldiers.”

“......”

“It wouldn’t make sense for me not to show you results when you’ve given me the best conditions. The operation is already underway, My Lord.”

Milton smiled brightly at Count Sabian’s words.

“I’ll trust you and leave the rest of the battle fully in your hands.”

“I will do my best… no, I will definitely bring you victory, My Lord.”

Count Sabian wasn’t promising to do his best; he was promising to give Milton the best result.

“I must check with my own eyes right now. Lead the way.”

“Yes, sir!”

Antras personally went to the enemy’s camp. Just as reported, the enemy’s camp was empty and Antras fell into confusion.

“But how could this happen? Magic? No. Even the witches of the forest who are known as masters of illusion can’t do this.”

Antras was troubled. He had completely missed the enemy’s movements. It was fatal for a strategist to have missed the enemy’s movements when the main role of a strategist was to always anticipate and prepare for the enemy’s move.
