Following a Whisper 12 I Should get Better at Lying

"Oh."I say after I tear my gaze away from his hair.He could probably hypnotize people with that thing.

"Sorry...What were you saying?"I ask with the most innocent look that I can muster with one eye.But apparently I didn't look innocent enough because the doctor then stepped away with a short 'Hmph!' and brought back a metal chair.

"Sit."He says abruptly and looks at me impatiently.After I sit he starts narrating all the eventful things that he's going to put me through today."First I'll check your height and weight.Because after all, your still young and growing.And even if the food you get fed doesn't have all the necessary nutrients, you are probably not malnourished.But at least we know you'll never get fat.Oh, and then I'll have to take a small blood sample...Actually, do you even have blood?Because if not, then I'll have to rethink somethings.How will I be able to tell if you're infected with some dangerous disease?But if you don't have blood, I'd like to study your heart.I'm sure everyone would be fine if I asked to borrow it.But I'll have to submit quite a bit of paper work.Hmm...I'll test your ears and eyes after that and-"He paused.I was really worried here, because I thought he noticed the way I stiffened up at the mention of eyes.

But after a moment he just continued rambling."Some skin and hair samples will also be very useful, so I'll need to go collect some tools for that.But before that let's check your eyes, that should be fine right?"Ah.He definitely noticed.

"Now, now, now.Did you really think I wouldn't notice?Are you're eyes sensitive or something?Because if so, then I'll gladly poke em' a couple times.You idiot."The only time he's not insulting me seems to be when he's talking about his science.

"No, well.You see, there's a spider on the back of the chair and I just..."What am I even doing?How is a spider a excuse for suddenly stiffening up like a fence post and my obvious look of hiding something?

I really have to get better at lying.

"Hmm.Is that so?I'll have to get someone to hire a exterminator.Hopefully they'll get rid of you too, nasty bug."And with that insult, he walks forward and uncovers my left eye.
