Come Here, Tyrant! Chapter 14

With a long sigh, Doher smiled and spoke.

“How about throwing a party that the Lady would like?”

As Ejed listened to him, his expression darkened. A party. Annie enjoys the small things that bring her happiness, not luxury.

She only attended compulsory parties, didn't she? It was far from his own birthday, the biggest event in the empire, so he had no excuses.

As Ejed's expression hardened, Doher lowered his eyes to the floor.

'You're so agitated… There's something about it.'

He did not express himself and eagerly added his words.

“It doesn't have to be a fancy party. What does the Lady usually like?”

“… Ah.”

Ejed, who had been thinking for a long time, exclaimed. An area in which she was particularly interested in came to mind.

The warm morning sunlight streamed through the window.

Ejed's face was bright like a glass on the table.

“A charity bazaar?”

The eyes of the young, noble children sitting around the wooden table widened.

Annie, who sat in the middle, nodded her head slightly.

“Yeah. It is a charity bazaar hosted by the imperial family.”

The sunlight combined with the relaxing atmosphere of their tea time and the terrace full of fresh flowers made the air smell sweet.

She took a sip of bitter coffee.

“This is going to be such a large scale event. They say that all of the profits will go to orphanages and facilities for single mothers.”

Annie, who quickly spoke, turned her head.

“Carla.”

“Yes, My Lady?”

Carla, who was waiting behind, brought a bunch of things and shared it with the ladies.

A silver shield symbolizing Porcaus, was engraved on the invitation, where the pure white paper was folded neatly.

The excited noble ladies busily opened the paper.

“Oh my goodness. It is true.”

“It seems like they sent a promotional invitation to Lady Dsev. Isn't Lady Dsev the representative of the royal bazaar?”

The noble ladies eyed Annie.

“Lady Dsev is going too, right?”

Annie tried to affirm and paused slightly. If it were at any other time, she would have answered clearly, but after the magic news incident, she felt reluctant to return to the Imperial Palace.

Fortunately, there was no news regarding the emperor's tyranny these days, but it was so quiet that Annie was puzzled.

Over time, Annie decided that it was simply an example of a tax investigation.

In fact, there was a possibility that she was suspected because her business has been so successful that the nobles became suspicious.

'Since nothing has happened so far, it should be fine.'

Annie replied softly after finishing her thoughts.

“Sure.”

The expressions of the young noble ladies smoothed out like a soft cookie on the table.

Even at a bazaar hosted by the fearsome imperial family, they could go anywhere with Annie.

Brave Annie always pioneered new paths, and she was the object of their awe and envy.

She was like an older sister when they faced difficult work. Then, she would take the initiative to sincerely help and give counseling.

The noble ladies leaned towards Annie and asked this and that. This was mostly Annie's routine.

After she sorted out her business, they would ask about the travel book she's writing on Porcaus, whether it was going well, if her family was condemned because of her declaration of non-marriage, and so on.

Annie replied without adding or omitting anything.

“I'm not sure because it's still in preparation. Well, I'm just grateful that my family always supports me.”

“That's a relief.”

“Really, really.”

The noble ladies sighed in relief.  They know well how Annie, who had just turned twenty-seven, and who has gone so far, was being treated by the nobles around her.

It was fortunate that Annie wasn't going to marry a bad person. If it was Annie, they wished that she would be happy because she was a woman who would enjoy her life alone.

The young girls gathered here were Annie's real comrades and had been together for more than 7 years. Initially, the number of people who visited Annie was so large that this table was insufficient, but little by little, only those who were close to each other were left.
