Chapter Three

Iris Pov
It's been three years since i left Vegas, three years since i last spoke to Alex or even Edward. When i went to the boarding school in Switzerland, while i was there for a year i had no contact with the outside world and when i left i threw myself into my business and focused on building Papillon and make it into a luxury brand but finally going to Vegas but not to see Alex but for business.
As i sat on the plane, i was nervous and sick to my stomach just like when i came back three years ago but the reasons where different, back then i hated the city that brought me pain but now i was scared of facing Alex cos i didn't know if he was dating someone else or if he still remembered i exist. The plane landed on the helipad of the mansion and i alighted looking around it felt weird and cold because I was alone Edward wasn't with me and I missed him.
I spent a week indoors reviewing documents for a meeting the main reason i came to Vegas in the first place. The next day i left for the office of the company that wanted to collaborate with us. As soon as i stepped into the company my heart started to beat faster and the closer i got to the conference room the faster my heart and the more nervous i became. I opened the door and the first face i saw was his face, the man who I had been thinking of for the past three years was in front of me. The emotions i was feeling were happiness, anxiety, and sadness, looking into his eyes all i could see was coldness, he didn't look happy to see me and it hurt. Throughout the meeting, all i could think about was what ton say to him after the meeting but i guess i was right about him not wanting to see me because he left immediately and didn't even spare me a glance and it hurt more than anything in the world.
Alex Pov
Three years, it's been three years since I last saw her and now she was in front of me it all my willpower not to pull her into my arms and hug her but i couldn't even if i wanted to because i promised myself to keep her safe no matter what. I could see how disappointed and sad she was because of how cold i was acting towards her and because it broke my heart i left immediately the meeting ended so i wouldn't see her disappointed eyes.
I went home as soon as the meeting ended and went to brief my dad on what went on at the meeting. I guess i was distracted because after dinner my dad called me into his office and my mum, Tiana and my Beta Eric were also in the office with my dad
What's wrong Alex? my dad asked
Nothing
Nothing? You've been acting weird since you got back from that meeting
Is it that obvious
What do you think Eric said
I saw her today
Saw who? Tiana asked
Iris
What! Where?
I had a meeting with her today
Well did you tell her
Nothing? I didn't talk to her
Why? my mum asked
because i don't want anything to happen to her
What could possibly happen to her sweetheart
Mum please, i don't want to talk about this okay
