Chapter 3: The Investigation

The sun had started to set when the Shadow King left downtown, after cooperating with the Shadow Master. The lights came on, the streets filled with people, and the atmosphere became more electric. The King had decided to stop at a small cafe on the way to his apartment to think about his next step. It was there that he had met one of his allies, a former policeman named Jack.

"Hi, Jack," the Shadow King had said as he entered the cafe.

"King," Jack replied with a smile. "I didn't expect to see you here."

"I have to rest a bit, from time to time," the Shadow King replied, taking his place in front of Jack. "I'm looking for information on the criminal organization that attacked the city recently. I hope you can help me."

"I quit the police, King. But I still know people who might have information. What do you want to know?"

"I want to know everything about the latest attacks, where they took place, who was involved, and any other relevant information."

"I can give you names of people who might know something, but I can't guarantee anything. You know the police and criminals aren't exactly close friends."

"I know. But I need everything you can give me."

"I'll do my best. But I must warn you, King, this investigation could be dangerous. You don't know who you might be dealing with."

"I'm willing to take that risk. I have to find out who's behind this."

"I'll give you the information I have. But you're going to need help if you want to succeed."

"I already have allies. Other city heroes who are ready to fight alongside me."

"That might be useful. But there is another person you should meet. A tech expert who might be able to help you find additional information."

"Who is she ?"

"Her friends call her Oracle. She is very good at finding information on the Internet. She could be very useful for your investigation."

"How can I find her?"

"I can give you her address. But she's very suspicious. You'll have to convince her that you're not an enemy."

"I'm willing to try. Thanks for your help, Jack."

"I am happy to be able to help. Take care of yourself, King."

The Shadow King had left the cafe and followed Jack's directions to Oracle's apartment. He knocked on the door and a female voice answered.

"Who is here ?"

"I am the Shadow King. Jack recommended that I see you."

The door had opened to reveal a slim young woman, with glasses and short black hair. She had looked at the Shadow King suspiciously.

"How do I know you're not an enemy?" she asked.

"I'm looking for information on a criminal organization that attacked the city recently. Jack told me you could help me."

Oracle studied the Shadow King for a few moments, then finally nodded.

"Between."

The Shadow King had followed Oracle to his apartment, which was filled with computers, cables, and strange gadgets. She sat down at one of her computers and started scouring the Internet.

"Maybe I can find something," she said, typing rapidly on her keyboard. "But I can't guarantee it will be easy. This organization is very good at covering their tracks."

"They can't be perfect," the Shadow King had replied. "There must be something we can find."

They had worked for hours, looking for clues and leads that could lead them to the criminal organization. Finally, Oracle had found something that caught their attention.

"I found a name that comes up multiple times in criminal databases," she said. "His name is Blackout. He seems to be one of the organization's lieutenants."

"Where can we find him?" the Shadow King had asked.

"I don't know. But it's likely that he was involved in the recent attacks. Maybe you could look for clues on the spot, in the places where the attacks took place."

"I will. Thank you, Oracle. You were very helpful."

"Don't put yourself in danger, King. This organization is dangerous."

"It's too late to back down now. I have to stop them before they cause more chaos in the city."

The Shadow King had left Oracle's apartment, determined to find answers about the criminal organization. He had decided to start his search in the places where the attacks had taken place, hoping to find clues that would lead him to Blackout and the criminal organization.

The next chapter will follow the adventures of the Shadow King in his search for the criminal organization, and the dangers he will encounter along the way.
