Dearest Mom and Dad, what happened to me?

I looked at myself in the mirror. . . touched my plumpy, kid face. . . checked my now sausage fingers. . . patted my -- "Oh no, oh no no no no. NO! WHERE DID MY BOOBIES GO?!"

Two knocks were the warning I got before my bedroom door was opened.

"Mielle, dear, come eat. If you don't move faster, you're going to be late." An old woman is standing right outside the door.

"M-Mielle? W-Who... who are you?" I am so terrified right now.

Where the heck am I? And what kind of language was that? And wait, did I just understood what she said?

"My goodness gracious! Are you high or something? It's too early in the morning and you're already asking me weird questions." She turned around and started to leave. "I'm going to the public market to buy some foods for us. Make sure to take care when you go to school, okay? Oh! Before I forget, your vocabulary has improved! You're getting better at it, Mielle! Good, good."

I was left with my mouth hanging open as the old lady left.

Me? Going to school? What the f--

My thoughts got cut off when my phone, er, this girl's phone went off.




Jace Miko Salguero messaged you.




I read the notification for three more times.

This name... it seems familiar..

Surprisingly, my fingers somehow knew the passcode of the phone and I unlocked it with no sweat.




Jace Miko Salguero: Hey baby.




"EXCUSE ME?!" We-We-We-wait. Hold up. This scene...

I looked at myself in the mirror again, then around me, then back to the phone. I swallowed a lump in my throat as my heart started to beat faster than before.

Oh no..

"That old lady called me Mielle... I'm supposed to get ready for school... this Jace Miko Salguero is calling this Mielle person 'baby'... And if I remember it correctly..."

Anytime now, a girl will be knocking on the door. . . and if that happens. . .

Right on cue, three knocks came from the door, confirming my suspicion.

I gulped. "And the girl outside is going to shout--"

"KIDDO! GET OUT OF THERE AND LET'S GO TO SCHOOL TOGETHER! HURRY UP!"

I swear I stopped breathing.

This can't be happening... it c-can't be possible..

"KIDDO HURRY! WE'RE GONNA BE LATE!"

My eyes darted over the mirror for the third time and scanned myself for the last time. This... chubby, baby-looking kid.. is Mielle Luara and I, Aice Figuera, am stuck inside her body...

And, remembering it correctly... she is the best friend of the main character in a novel that died at the end.

A few weeks later...


Thanks to me being a fan of this novel, An Online Chance, in my past life, I had the idea of what kind of person Mielle Luara was. And that helped me get accustomed to her life.

She's pretty much a smart, straight-forward but childish girl. Has bangs and black hair that is always tied up. She wasn't bless with height and definitely not with the body department too, except her tooch -- it's a nice, big one that is all natural. (Yas gurl!) She has a best friend named Nariza Vander who is older than her by a year.

And both of them are in high school.

This novel actually revolves around Nariza Vander, the main female character. She has an auburn, up-to-the-shoulders length of hair. Has a fierce look, but a bit shy personality. Around 5'4" is her height and got a nicely balanced figure. She got talents for drawing and singing.

How cool is that?

Anyway, this girl met someone and had a 'husband-and-wife' relationship online with him after exchanging chats in a community online game. His name was Jace Miko Salguero, the main male character.

From then on, the novel went on how these two started playing their online role play with their 'other family members' and led on what was supposed to be 'fake' became 'real.'

Meaning, their feelings started to develop and well, fell in love.

Then the novel continued on how Nariza faced many challenges with her relationship with Jace when they decided to become official. Complications, new characters, antagonists, consequences, secrets, and all of that were told later on.

Which I'm kinda having a hard time remembering... Hm. Weird.

Anyhow, this little kid, Mielle, was somehow involved as she became those two's 'baby' because even before Nariza and Jace met, the girls are best friends and already calling each other 'mami' and 'kiddo'.

The novel was not written in English as the original story was made by a Filipino author. The copy that I read online was translated into English. That's why the language they use is different than what I knew.

I guess I was transported in the actual original novel and not the translated one.

But the thing though is, this seemingly romance novel turned dark and tragic. The two star-crossed lovers couldn't be together, and the grandfather of Jace wanted to 'take care' of Nariza permanently. And when one of his people fired a gun to Nariza, her best friend Mielle who has a really great reflex, heard it and jumped behind her to cover and make her duck.

However, that plan didn't succeed. Mielle couldn't be fast enough to tackle her best friend down and she ended up sacrificing not Nariza's life but her life instead.

It didn't end there though. Nariza got so traumatized at what happened, and witnessing the death of her best friend in her arms made her lose her mind that she ended up committing suicide.

I sighed and closed the book English Language and Comprehension. Ironic how Mielle wasn't really good in this subject and even speaking the language, and now, she will pass everything about English with flying colors.

Thanks to me. I sighed again before gritting my teeth. I gotta do something to change Mielle's -- my now -- destiny. I don't want to die! And hopefully, it will effect Nariza's life too.

"Kiddo, are you okay?" Nariza is on the other side of the table, doing her math homework. It's after school, and we decided to do our homework in the cafeteria. "You've been sighing since earlier."

"H-Ha? Mhm. I'm okay." Another thing about Mielle, she's really respectful to everyone, especially those who are older than her. Always using formal speech. Even taking the blame of others just to stop any arguments. And the worst of all, she is very childish, despite being a blunt kid.

She texts with: 8(>-<)8 *O* TOT ;A; ٩(◕‿◕｡)۶ (✧ω✧) o(≧▽≦)o (;*△*;) and so much more! Almost her whole text/chat conversations, especially with her so-called 'dadi' Jace, are filled with these!

Tsk. How irksome!

One of the words that I learned in this language and fell in love with is that: irksome. It means, annoying. And Mielle really irks me, for my taste of personality.

"You sure?" Of course, Nariza is worried. "Don't hide anything from me. Besides, I noticed you're slowly loosing weight. Are you not eating properly?"

How can I not lose weight when I am trying to lose these extra loads of this girl's body? This is also for our own future, Nariza, when we get to that gun scene.

Besides, the novel said that Mielle eats anything and really loves junk foods and soda.

But not anymore.

I, Aice Figuera, will change this little girl's body for the better. And even her fate.

Cross-fingers on that.

"Yup. Very sure. I'm not hiding anything from you," except for the fact that I'm not really your best friend and I'm not supposed to be here. Well, my soul, I mean.

She studied me more. "It really seemed like something had changed with you, kiddo. I've known you for years, you really seemed as if you're improving!"

"O-Oh?" Uh-oh. "I-I that a bad thing m-mami?"

Nariza shook her head. "Nope! I like it! I support you! Besides, you're still as brutal as ever when you talk. Its just that, not in an innocent way anymore. It's like, it became mature, scary, AND intimidating." She smiled brightly. "I approve super!"

"Hehe, thank you mami! I'm really going to try and aim for a better version of me. I got to play smarter and wiser as our lives are at stake." Oops. My tongue slipped. She looked at me with eyes wide open. Shock is registered in her face. "Um, m-mami.. I-I can explain --"

"Oh. My. God! You can now speak straight English?! Oh, my gosh!" She squealed and stood up to around the table and hugged me. "I'm so proud of you!"

"I-It was just a pure luck, h-hehe.." Oh dear Author, thank you so much for making Nariza a bit slow.

Her phone went off and she immediately went back to her sit and checked it. Her eyebrows creased. "What is he talking about?"

"Why? What's up? Is that," BLECH! "D-Dadi?" I really need to find a way to get out of this mami/dadi calling. It's giving me shivers!

She looked at me then back to her phone. "Your dadi said that something is different with you. Haha, like you're possessed. He said, I should have you check up."

"Ahh.. h-hehe.." Should I laugh now Jace Miko Salguero? "Very funny, h-haha."

"Maybe he's going crazy," she laughed as she typed her reply. "Don't worry, kid, I'll let him know that you're just thriving to become a better lady."

"Thanks mami!" I smiled at her when I realized something. "By the way, when will he show his face to you?"
