The Underworld had dissolved, and it became particles of light as it disappeared.

Basically to use the ultimate final technique, you need to strengthen yourself, which is the concept behind Oni no Mai.

Cassie (PR/ED): I enjoyed writing Shuten's archaic speaking, tell me if I went overboard.

Kanji note: “Tsuishiki” reads as the combination of the kanji for “end” and “ceremony, expression, function, etc.” Reminds me of a swan song kind of.

Interesting (and very oversimplified) music note: an aria is a song with just a singer and an accompaniment, a rondo repeats musical themes a lot, and a fantasia is a free-flowing song that isn't strictly bound to any specific and/or single style. Finally, a requiem is a solemn chant used to lay souls to rest. I imagine these names were quite deliberately chosen to reflect the properties of each wolf.

9: cassie and I talked about the wolves being the music from their names and Sukuna dancing to their music with her oni no mai, which is an interesting fact.
