Become a World Boss? No Thanks! Volume 2 Chapter 11-13

World Boss? No Thanks! Vol 2 C11: Who is that Cerulean Bishoujo?

Tactical teams were mostly comprised of spectral steeds and spectral war chariots. With their superior mobility, these teams could be deployed anywhere on the battlefield in an orderly and speedy fashion.

Whether it was ambushing, encircling, flanking or retreating, these teams were able to employ a multitude of high mobility tactics while maximizing their combat strength.

As for the tactical team of the Wanderer's Abode, there were only two spirits inside of it, Wu Junze and Han Zhishi. According to rumors, these two were once military officers in a certain kingdom's army who unfortunately lost their lives in the expansion war declared by Margare. Apparently, they were there that day when the majestic form of Margare's Sacred Dragon blasted an Eighth-Grade, Heavens-Blanketing level of Magic at their army and wiped them out…

In the first place, both sides weren't even on the same level and thus, their deaths were inevitable.

The only silver lining amongst all that misfortune was that their souls managed to remain completely intact despite personally experiencing such a cataclysmic spell. Truly, that was a one in a million bit of fortune.

Naturally, all this was just hearsay.

As of right now, Wu Juze and Han Zhishi were both standing beneath the southeastern vantage point hidden under the shroud of countless trees and shrubs. Peering into this dense foliage, the only traces one could see of this tactical team was that ever so tiny gleam of reflection that periodically escaped between the cracks of foliage.

They had been lying in wait for quite a while now, well, even though it had been a while, roughly half an hour, it really wasn't much for these two.

"There's less than five minutes from the commencement timing, let's just go already!" As he said that, Han Zhishi stuck his head out for a mere second with a tiny jump to glimpse at the mountain peak. As he said, there were just a few minutes left to the battle commencement, such excitement and anxiety was only to be expected.

"Well, I understand what you're feeling right now, I really do…" Wu Junze lightly scratched his head before continuing, "But, we can't act so rashly in this matter. We are the bait that's supposed to mask the main contingent. Given how easy it is to spot us, going out too early will definitely result in heavy fire from the other side."

"That's true." Han Zhishi nodded.

Thus, the last few minutes slowly ticked by towards the commencement time and soon the moment finally arrived.

"Let's go!" Waving his hands forward, Wu Junzi gave his steed a resounding slap and galloped off towards the mountain peak.

Hearing that, Han Zhishi hurriedly slapped his spectral steed as well, urging it forward with every ounce of his being; the last thing he wanted was to be left behind in this fated encountered. If only this steed of his could fly, were his exact thoughts right now.

Mere moments later, a thunderous wave of clip clops sounded out in the distance as well. The adventurers, having formed an orderly snaking formation, began their deafening ascent from the mountain's base.

"Good, as long as things proceed this smoothly…!" Wu Junze couldn't help but yell as he eyed the ever-growing mountain top.

'Although it wasn't expected at all...in fact, it's almost too smooth...smooth...wait, something's wrong.'

Before he could even finish that thought however, a cerulean figure popped up in the near distance.

'That's...a girl?!' Was his first reaction to that unknown lifeform ahead. However, it wasn't long before the seasoned veteran came back to his senses. 'No, how could there be a girl in the Abyss, on the other hand, there's a number female spirits to be found here.'

Narrowing his eyes, Wu Junze squinted at the distant figure. 'That cerulean skin seemed so familiar, as if...SLIME?!' Immediately, Wu Junze was taken aback by the thought that suddenly appeared in his head.

'A humanoid slime?! Here, in the abyss?'

Not only that, the unknown lifeform that stood before him was wearing clothes. There was no doubt at all, this slime's sense of being was extremely similar to that of a human's.

Staring at her flawless complexion, he couldn't help but feel even more confused.

'Exactly what is going on here?'

Appearing on the mountaintop like that, with a bishoujo's alluring face and figure, the girl seemed that much more mysterious at the same time.

She seemed to have just noticed them as well and like a bishoujo who had just entered the earthly realm, she had on a ditzy look...

Wu Junze eyed the girl who shouldn't even appear in the abyss. No matter how he looked at her, she just seemed so adorable and lovable. Just by looking at her crystal clear face, he couldn't help but imagine a multitude of scenarios.

Like how a ditzy bishoujo, living the pampered lifestyle and undergoing the proper education expected of a well to do family, was suddenly kidnapped by a diabolic abyss dragon and was forever torn apart from her family…

Or like how this bishoujo, having grown up in a simple farming household filled with love, was blessed with parents who doted and protected her to the point where she hardly had any contact with the opposite sex. She would work hard everyday from dusk to dawn, while leading this carefree and idyllic lifestyle of hers. But then everything changed when the abyss dragon attacked...

And so and so forth. With every passing scenario, his heart ached even more for the girl.

'Unforgivable!'

'To kidnap such a beautiful lady and destroy her life like that!'

'Judging by those tattered 'clothes' of hers, it's obvious that this evil dragon has already laid its claws on her.'

'Grrr...if only we met earlier.' Wu Junze thought with undisguised resentment.

"Worry not, miss. This one swears to rescue you!" He declared to the cerulean girl before him.

"Hmm?" As if she couldn't comprehend what he said, she knitted her brows together in confusion and tilted her head.

Of course she didn't understand him, their languages were most likely different to begin with. The language of the girl was one from a distant and foreign realm. 'Her homeland must truly be a distant land…'

"Don't...don't come any closer." A second later however, the girl surprised him with a sudden plea.

'Soul Link?!' He immediately thought to himself as the strangeness of this situation began to dawn on him. However, before he could this give it any further thought, he was abruptly brought back to reality by a yell from Han Zhishi.

"Watch out!" Having sensed something, Han Zhishi immediately yelled to his partner. While he wasn't sure who that girl was, his fighter's instincts were telling him this, that girl was dangerous.

"Stay away!" The cerulean girl said telepathically as her lips began to form words resembling that of a chant.

'Magical chant?! That cerulean girl knows magic and she's using it to attack us?!' At that, Wu Junze couldn't help but feel that something in his head had shattered. To think that their rescue target had suddenly turned into a foe!

A moment later, all he saw was the girl wave her right hand before a wave blasted forth from her palms and with a resounding *whoosh* rushed down the mountain path!

Second-grade Pathseeker's water magic [Torrent]! Originally, this spell, being a low level magic and all, was just supposed to birth a slow moving stream of water. However, because of the steepness of the slope and their elevation, it immediately turned into roaring rapids!

*Whoosh!* The rapids careened downwards right towards the tactical team and their horses. At this rate, forget being a bait, their team was in danger of losing their mobility; it would be a miracle if they weren't wiped out here.

When one had the high ground, employ water attacks!

Realizing their precarious state, Wu Junze couldn't help but feel a little bitter. He had done his due diligence already but because it was a cerulean bishoujo who appeared before him, he ended up lowering his guard in the end. Had it been that abyss dragon who appeared, he probably wouldn't have acted this way.

However, the situation had already occured, was there even a point to ifs?

"Now's not the time to blame yourself, captain!" Yelled Han Zhishi, interrupting the man's self-admonishment in an instant.

"Hmm?" Wu Junze turned around in confusion to see Han Zhishi leaping off his spectral steed with both of his feet.

"Neighh!" The spectral steed who was barely holding its own in the midst of the roaring rapids was immediately knocked down by the kick and washed away by the raging waters.

"Let's go!" Han Zhishi leaped onto Wu Junze's horseback and leaped off once more, hands grabbing onto his comrade's clothing.

"The horses!" Wu Junze yelled in a distraught manner, clearly distressed about the plight of their steeds. Having been kicked down the slope like that, they were most likely doomed to die.

"Is this the time to care about some horses?!" Han Zhishi bellowed as his feet landed on solid ground once more.

In front of them stood a shocked cerulean girl and a shocked abyss dragon. Clearly, both of them hadn't considered the possibility of them using their steeds as a springboard.

However, as facts would have it, Han Zhishi did just that. His physique and agility could only be described as monstrous. Within his eerily green body, a crimson heart burned.

Second-grade Fighter, Han Zhishi, SANJO (has arrived)!

World Boss? No Thanks! Vol 2 C13: Fight!

'Fighter?!' I couldn't help but gasp as I looked at the burly man.

Before me stood a man with pointed brows and a sharp gaze, clad in a simply designed black and red overcoat that was matched with a similarly designed pair of long pants. Thanks to his bulging muscles, the overcoat seemed almost tight as it hugged his body lovingly. Above, his eyes glinted with intent as he observed us.

Just from a single glance, I could tell that this man was a veteran, someone who had undergone long, gruelling periods of training.

'Not good, a seasoned fighter is the last thing we need right now.'

'Compared to him, that fellow on the right doesn't seem to give off any presence at all. In fact, his presence is so weak, it's laughable.'

"Listen up, Zhishi." Wu Junze whispered in the ear of his comrade, "That cerulean girl might seem harmless and pretty but those violent rapids definitely came from her palm. If we don't take care of her right away, those adventurers down the mountain path will…"

The man nodded his head, eyes still affixed to the tiny abyss dragon before him.

'Hmmm...I'm not sure what they just said but it's probably about their plans. Well, too bad for you two, no matter what you're planning, I'll just trample over the two of you! Compared to that blackwing python's overbearing aura, you two are nothing but small fries!'

With that in mind, I began charging up a [Fireball]...having just leveled it up, my fireballs were now able to accumulate power.

"On the count of three, we'll subdue that girl first, don't hurt her too much since we don't know what's her background yet."

Han Zhishi nodded wordlessly again, even now his eyes were still glued onto the abyss dragon.

He had a certain premonition that this abyss dragon standing before him wasn't just any old tiny abyss dragon. His instincts were telling him that it wasn't an easy opponent to deal with --- that it was strong!

"One, two…" As Wu Junze counted, he carefully watched for an opportunity to strike.

Yet it was at that moment that I spotted an opening amongst these weaklings.

Charged-up [Fireball], launch!

My jaws opened up wide and spat out the gigantic ball of flames within. Like that, a ball roughly two meters wide and clearly larger than my own body appeared before Han Zhishi in an instant!

"Hmph!" He coldly snorted and brought his hands together, stacking on a multitude of BUFFs in an instant!

[Windy Fists]! A seasoned fighter is able to throw out punches that roil the winds around them. The faster these fists are, the more deadly they become. Increases Fist attack speed by 10% and applies an additional Wind element damage that scales with the fighter's attack speed!

[Technique Break]! A fist to break a million techniques. A fighter's fist techniques are able to reduce the damage the fighter suffers as long as they aren't physical. This BUFF is effective as long as these non-physical attacks do not exceed the value of the fighter's own damage output. The more experienced the fighter was in his fist techniques, the more damage he was able to reduce!

[Qi Accumulation]! Focus the Qi onto one body. Allows the fighter to better sense the air and Qi flows around him. Increases his agility and prediction abilities!

[Bloody Steps]! A third-grade movement technique unique to fighters. Increases a fighter's base movement speed by a small degree and greatly increases his physical damage output!

Kicking off on one leg, Han Zhishi leaped towards the blinding fireball, right fist raised high.

*bang!* His fist pierced the fiery exterior of the fireball in an instant, breaking it apart with a thunderous explosion. It was as if a miniature sun separated into multiple smaller fire globes in order to evade his attack.

From the very beginning, Han Zhishi didn't intend to wait for his comrade's count, he wasn't such a person to begin with. Even before Wu Junze started counting, he was already raring to go so why would he even wait?!

*crack crack* The joints in his hands began to creak as he clenched down even harder on his fists, eyes still locked onto the powerful foe in front of him.

Within the heart of a fighter, there was only ever one word: fight!

If your blood wasn't boiling, you weren't a man! As of right now, Han Zhishi's burning heart was thumping wildly in his chest and within it, a roaring flame burned with an unmatched intensity!
