Bab 1 | The beginning of revenge

In this world, there are many diverse forms of life: humans, dragons, demons, angels, elves, dwarfs, vampires, or other mixed races. Since ancient mythological times when the gods did not yet exist, they were all originally ordinary creatures from various races. What set them apart was their divine-touching magical powers, and that's why they are called gods. Like Gilgamesh, the king of humans, Lucifer, the king of demons, Oliver, the mother of angels, and Diego, the king of vampires.

But in the present time, vampires are often looked down upon by other races because among them, only they cannot use magic due to the absence of mana in their bodies. However, vampires can still survive even without a heart. 

Diego, on the other hand, is different. He is an entity with the divine eye known as the 'crimson eye.' According to legend, this eye is the eye of a demon god who created the world where Diego resides. The power of this eye includes many abilities related to blood manipulation, allowing Diego to touch immortality. He only needs to suck the blood of other creatures to regenerate his body cells. 

The most significant difference is that Diego can manipulate the flow of mana in his body and create mana circles within himself. Thus, he is the only vampire capable of using magic.

Mana circles are the mana flow that surrounds the heart. The more mana circles one has, the higher their magical abilities. If it weren't for Diego, an entity with 12 magic circles, dragons would be considered the most powerful entities in magic use since they can create up to 10 magic circles. Other creatures can have a maximum  of 9 magic circles if they are talented.

"Haaah, the gods."

"Interesting story, isn't it?"

"I don't understand what's so interesting about this."

"What are you talking about, Rai? They are the most powerful and grand figures... I hope to be blessed by them."

"They are also just living beings; the laws of nature still apply to them."

"Whatever, I don't understand why you don't like the gods."

"Well, they are just creatures greedy for power. The title 'god' is unworthy of them," Mirai thought.

"Okay, I want to go home. You're too noisy."

"Oii!!, Raii... why is she angry?"

*Scene changes to Mirai*

"Those damn gods, I never thought they would collaborate in trying to kill me... unforgivable. I will kill all of you, especially you, Gilgamesh!"

Mirai Valontier, commonly known as Rai, is the son of the noble vampire family Valontier. Before reincarnating, Mirai was Diego, a god among vampires. He was killed by the gods due to his power that shook the natural order. The "Nine Constellations," a group of gods, didn't want Diego to take their positions, so they collaborated to kill him. In mythological times, Gilgamesh incited vampires and other gods against Diego, and some naively believed his words.

Diego was pursued by creatures from all over the world, but they couldn't kill him because of the vast amount of spilled blood. Diego could easily regenerate his body. However, one of his supporters betrayed him. Intentionally, he took his own life with deadly poison and joined the enemy. When Diego tried to regenerate by gathering available blood, he was poisoned, weakening him. In that vulnerable moment, Gilgamesh stabbed Diego from behind with his divine aura-infused sword. Ultimately, Diego, once a god, was just a mortal. This event was known as the Crimson Moon due to the red-blooded moon from that battle.

Shortly after Diego's death, the gods made an agreement to establish their own world boundaries. They vowed not to descend to the world without urgent reasons. If any of them violated this oath, they would face destruction. This was done to maintain peace in the world without godly interference. However, it was all a plan to make the creatures of the world worship the gods, as their hopes and prayers would lead to the gods' reincarnation after their deaths. Gods didn't need offspring to reincarnate; after death, they would be born from their residual energy, forming their bodies like babies. When gods reincarnated, they had no past memories until their bodies reached adulthood and could contain their previous memories and powers.

While gods were infants, their followers would care for and educate them until they were ready to become gods again. The gods also established a system known as the "clock of destiny" using their collective powers. It was a system where all information in the world would be gathered and become knowledge for the gods. They were allowed to create their own religion in the world because gods were not immortal. They needed religion to reincarnate after death and to increase their power. They could appoint their own messengers as long as they couldn't descend to the world directly. Those who received blessings from the gods were called apostles. Those indirectly blessed by the gods had powers far beyond ordinary creatures.

"I'm home."

"Oh, you're home, dear. Why aren't you with the head servant? Didn't she come to pick you up?"

"... I came home on my own from training."

"You're such a handful. Well, go rest now. I'll prepare dinner for you. Servant, please prepare some warm water for Mirai."

"Yes, ma'am."

Viona Valontier, or Viona, is the third princess of the noble Human family. She married Fiero Valontier and has two children, Violet Valontier and Mirai Valontier. There's only a 5-year age difference between them. Rai is now 10 years old, and he won't be training at their family's training grounds but will study at an academy in the capital city.

*Scene changes to the dining area*

"Mother's cooking is truly unmatched."

Rai complimented Viona while enjoying the food she had prepared. It was a royal family tradition to cook for their own family.

"Ahaha, your father says the same thing as you."

"Isn't it true that your sister is coming home next month? The school year is ending soon."

"Ah, your sister might come a bit earlier. You know how impatient she gets when she wants to see you."

"Ugh, she hasn't changed at all."

"Oh, right. You'll be entering the academy in a few months. Looks like you'll be seeing your sister more often."

"Ah, that's what I don't like. She'll probably treat me like a little kid."

"Hahaha, you're right. When you were born, your sister wouldn't leave your side for a whole day."

*Scene changes to Violet*

"I can't wait to see you, Rai," a girl inside a horse-drawn carriage said.

"We'll be arriving shortly, my lady. You can rest for a while, and we'll escort you to the Valontier residence," a knight on horseback walked beside the carriage.

"Alright," Violet replied as she closed the carriage window.

*Skipping forward a few days*

Grrrhhh!! The cries of monsters echoed in a forest.

"Fuuuh, is this all I can find?"

Rai is currently hunting monsters in the borderland forest of the vampire territory. He is collecting blood to awaken the Crimson Eyes. Since using Crimson Eyes requires a lot of blood, Diego usually condenses the blood from hundreds of monsters and stores it in his body as a source of energy when using Crimson Eyes.

"If it continues like this, awakening the Crimson Eyes will take a long time. I should go to the Black Sea like before."

The Black Sea, or the Black Forest, is a forbidden forest in the world. Inside, there are various dangerous monsters, but it's suitable for Diego as he needs a lot of blood reserves.

"Young master, it's past your mealtime. If we don't return soon, the mistress will worry. I also received a message that Lady Violet has arrived at Valontier residence."

"What? My sister's already home? That's troublesome. Let's go back. Otherwise, I'll get in trouble."

They change locations to Valontier residence.

"I'm home, mother."

"Ara, welcome, my beautiful daughter."

"Um, mother, where's Rai?"

"You just got home, and you're looking for your brother. He's hunting in our borderland forest with the head servant."

"What? He's not even here to welcome me. I'll teach him a lesson when he returns."

"I'm here, sis. How could I not be here when you return?" Rai responds.

"Rai!" Violet shouts and hugs him.

"Um... sis, can you step back a bit? Your chest is too big; I can't breathe."

"No, I won't let go. You know, you'll be going to the academy soon. If anyone dares to bother you, just report it to your big sister, and I'll deal with them."

"Alright, alright..."

Violet is a fourth-year academy student known as the 'Bloody Princess.' She's one of the top students at the academy, with numerous awards from various battles. Even when compared to imperial knights, she excels. However, she can't control her emotions when she's with Rai.

The scene changes to a dining room at Valontier residence.

"Mmm... Mother's cooking is the best."

"Hahaha, my dear daughter."

"Oh, by the way, where's father?"

"He's on a mission; maybe he'll be back tomorrow."

Fiero Valontier is a renowned vampire noble known for his talent combining swordsmanship and blood manipulation. He has a magic circle level of 9 and has reached the realm of a half-god. He was even compared to the current emperor before ascending to the throne. His power is recognized by the empire. The Valontier family has always been feared by other nobles because of their talent in manipulating blood; even a small scratch is enough to drain an enemy's blood completely.
