The sound of explosions. Sparks. Gunshots.
A group of six–three boys and three girls.
“No matter what happens, we must defend the secret base!”
The only fort remaining. The last hope.
The enemy is already right in front of them.
A ruthless iron hammer. A tyrannical show of authority.
Upperclassmen.
“Is the airship ready yet? We’ll use it to take down their castle.”
Thunder. Heavy rain. The bombing begins.
Countless stones come raining down.
“Those cowards… Come on, we’re retreating back to the base for now!”
The six run, even as their legs are caught by the overgrown weeds.
The upperclassmen’s bombardment draw close enough to piece their bodies.
“Keep going, just a little more! We’re almost there!”
Ah!—-
A girl trips. The pebbles approach.
Thump.
Fresh blood flows from the girl’s shoulder.
The boys’ and girls’ war ends.
The upperclassman wash the girl’s wound with water from a nearby park.
They wrap their clothes around her shoulder in place of bandages, and take her to the school infirmary.
As everyone is scolded harshly by their homeroom teachers or parents, the world becomes peaceful once more.
In the small world that the children see, every day, there is a great war breaking out.
The things that take place around them are their everything.
Such an innocent tomorrow mustn’t be destroyed.

Yankee Boy, Yankee Girl
Screaming about justice louder than anymore else.
I think the condition to be a hero is something like this.
