"Oh my God, earthquake cat had made its move," Isabella reacted to it by giving a high whistle. She felt immense tremors coming from the ground underneath her feet. The people at the collapsed building seemed like they were walking on sponge as they hobbled around and could not stand properly.

Lin Chen was half-kneeling in front of the ruins as his eyes remained fixed on it.

Beside him was a girl in a ponytail and a chubby boy. five people had just escaped from the ruins by using the accelerated speed the supercat had endowed them with.

All of them were apostles who were recruited under Inspector Ho. 8 of them were activated for today's mission to capture earthquake cat.

All the apostles were government officials and had received their power from Milk. This meant that all of them had the same power as Lin Chen. Firstly, this was to ensure that all their skills were standardized, making it easier for the higher-ups to control. Secondly, this power was specifically chosen to deal with earthquake cat.

"Team Lin, how is the situation at your side?" The chubby boy was sweating from head to toe. He said, "I … I thought I was going to be crushed to death. When is the army coming over to reinforce us?"

"Idiot, what's the point of having more people here?" The girl in ponytail retorted, "What if their presence startle earthquake cat and it set off a magnitude 8.0 earthquake in Jiangmen city? Team Lin, did you manage to hit the enemy?"

"Yes." Lin Chen replied as he recalled the sneak attack just now.

Most cats were extremely timid. Anything that was slightly out of the ordinary would startle them. Only a minority of supercats were not as easily frightened. However, Lin Chen's team did not want to bet on it. They did not know how much earthquake cat could take before it got flustered and started using its power.

If earthquake cat set off a massive earthquake in the middle of the operation, the results would be disastrous.

Millions of lives would be affected, and nobody would be able to answer for it.

They did not dare to commence a wide-scale search for earthquake cat to prevent startling the residents, resulting in public unrest. Hence, the police personnel were all in plainclothes and operated secretly. They would hand over the operation to the apostles once they have identified the objective. Meanwhile, the army personnel was kilometers away and on standby. If need be, they will take out earthquake cat instantly.

During the previous sneak attack, Lin Chen managed to hit earthquake cat with one of his anesthetic bullets. However, earthquake cat had activated its power before it went unconscious which resulted in the building collapsing.

Just when Lin Chen was in the midst of recalling what had happened in the building, the ruins of the collapsed building started to shake violently. All the apostles were staring at it nervously. It was as if an invisible force was separating the ruins into halves. Suddenly, a Scottish Fold appeared from the ruins with its back arched, and its fur all puffed up. It emerged from the ruins with its squinted eyes, staring right into Lin Chen's eyes.

At the instant when the Scottish Fold appeared, Lin Chen had already dashed towards it like a black bolt of lightning, leaving behind his afterimages. He stretched out his hand and slapped the cat with an astounding speed that cannot be seen by the naked eye.

Even amongst the apostles with accelerated speed, Lin Chen was the strongest among them.

The power to create earthquakes was too dangerous. Lin Chen would not allow the cat any chance of using its power again.

Just when his palm was about to make contact with the cat, the Scottish Fold's body quivered before it fell to the floor. Its eyes were shut, and its breathing was regular.

Lin Chen was taken aback by the cat's behavior, but he immediately realized, "Has the anesthesia taken effect?" Lin Chen heaved a sigh of relief as he carried the Scottish Fold into his arms and turned to the girl behind him. He said, "I'm telling you guys that your reactions are too slow." He was referring to how all of them stood rooted to the ground when the supercat reappeared.

"I'm sorry," the chubby boy lowered his head out of embarrassment.

Lin Chen shook his head as he looked at them. The chubby boy had not graduated from police academy. If not for his potential to be an apostle, he would not have been deployed for this mission before he graduated.

"Report to the higher-ups and ask them to send people over to receive the cat."

After relaying his instructions, the girl in ponytail took her phone and was about to call Inspector Ho.

Suddenly, there was a gunshot sound and the girls' phone exploded. The other apostles sent by the government immediately went into hiding.

"What happened? Who is it?" Lin Chen shouted. He saw that the ground from afar began to melt into a body of fluid. three masked men rose from the liquid.

One of the masked men was holding on to a pistol, and he came dashing towards Lin Chen.

A metal man went straight for the girl in ponytail. The remaining masked man went for the chubby boy.

Judging from the metal man and their ability to turn the ground into liquid, it was apparent that the gang of the masked men was apostles under Ho Hao Cang.

Lin Chen held his pistol and fired the anesthetic bullet at the masked man charging towards him. However, he was able to dodge the bullet quickly, and he continued running towards Lin Chen.

"Hmm, is it trying to get closer to me? That's good for me as well." Lin Chen smirked as he carefully placed the Scottish Fold on the floor. He activated his power and dashed towards the masked man like a black bolt of lightning. Before the masked man could react to Lin Chen's attack, Lin Chen had already positioned his pistol on the masked man's belly and fired off three rounds.

This was followed by three punches which landed on his face, neck, and chest.

This was all done in 0.3 seconds. It was impossible for an ordinary person to react to it.

"It has ended."

Just when Lin Chen thought he had subdued his enemy, the masked man started laughing and repeated what Lin Chen said, "It has ended." The masked man had simultaneously removed the pin from his grenade.

"What?" Lin Chen was still reacting to his opponent's incredible toughness when he noticed this crazy move he made.

"D*mn it!" Lin Chen dashed away at top speed as his body morphed into a giant gust of wind. However, the masked man was holding on to the edge of his shirt. Lin Chen's speed was too fast as he managed to escape with a torn shirt.

However, the masked man's action had delayed Lin Chen's escape, and Lin Chen was still a little too late.

Following the loud explosion, you could see the waves rippling radially from the grenade, and they were slowly catching up to Lin Chen in mid-air.

Bam!

The masked man was blown away by the explosion. Lin Chen's vision turned black as he fell to the floor. He could only hear buzzing in his head, and his four limbs went limp. He was about to lose consciousness.

"Team Lin!"

Both the girl and boy turned around to this horrific scene. They were shocked by what they saw, but they still had to take care of the masked man attacking them.

What shocked them more was that the masked man who was drenched in blood got up again. He shook his head as all his wounds started to heal miraculously. He then carried on walking towards the Scottish Fold.
