Chapter 01 – Shattered Heart on Lingyun Cliff
"Sa!"
Her cold gaze was accompanied by the sound of flesh being cut; the beautiful color of blood splashed the white snow. The gorgeous woman grasped her sword tightly as she took off the head of another man. All along her cold gaze did not ripple with the slightest hint of emotion.
On the wintry cliff, that woman wore only a thin dress. The original white had been covered with the endless spurts of red blood.
By her feet were nearly a hundred dead bodies littered on the snow. The mixture of their blood and hers flowed like a river.
All of this wasn't over yet.
The woman slightly raised her head. Her pale and beautiful face came into view as her deep eyes swept a hundred meters around. She saw only that she was encircled by tens of thousands of men and women, each person staring at her with their greed filled eyes as they stood motionless.
Her eyes swept from face to face, her lips raised to form a nefarious and unrestrained arch. She wiped her hand on her belly as a drop of blood rolled out of her mouth. Her originally pale lips were smeared with a touch of demonic red.
Seventy-nine people… who was going next?
Ye Qingtang had never imagined that one day she would become the enemy of the entire world, ten thousand men besieging her on top of Lingyun cliff.
All of this was owed to the Demon Emperor's heart within her chest.
Should the Demon Emperor truly descend, the sky would be extinguished and the earth would lose all life.

But Ye Qingtang no longer possessed those spirit roots, Ye You had made very sure of that. She had torn into Ye Qingtang's body with her own hands and dug out her spirit roots for her own use.
Ye You had put her new spirit roots to good use. In a single leap she became the genius that all others must pay attention to; nowadays she was the noble Female Emperor respected by old and young. Ye Qingtang, on the other hand, hadn't fared so well. She lived her days as a handicap, the only people that she could rely on at such times, her parents and close relatives, had also been done away with by Ye You.
This account had been buried inside Ye Qingtang's heart for three-hundred years already.
Hearing her name called out by Ye Qingtang, Ye You's brows furrowed slightly. She looked down at Ye Qingtang with eyes brimming with disdain. To her Ye Qingtang was only making a final struggle, her strength was akin to that of an ant. Such a person didn't have the qualifications to move Ye You.
"Don't let her run and make sure you dig out the heart completely." Ye You ordered the imperial guards surrounding her.
Hearing the command, the crowd began advancing towards Ye Qingtang.
Facing the attacks of ten thousand men, even if Ye Qingtang had three heads six arms, she would still have no chance of victory.
Behind her was a bottomless abyss and in front of her was an army that wanted her heart. Yet despite her situation, not a single trace of fear could be found on Ye Qingtang's beautiful face. All along she simply looked towards Ye You, the bane of her existence who had destroyed all that she loved.
Ye You wanted the Demon Emperor's heart, she wanted her ruined… Naturally, Ye Qingtang would not allow for her wishes to be fulfilled.
In the moment that the men advanced towards Ye Qingtang, she raised her hand. Arching her fingers, she tore into her chest and destroyed the Demon Emperor's heart that everyone had come for!
"Boom!"
The moment Ye Qingtang crushed the heart, a deafeningly loud noise exploded on to of Lingyun Cliff.
As the Demon Emperor's heart was destroyed, the atmosphere between heaven and earth stilled, a gale swept through over the cliff and a crack split through the path on Lingyun Cliff.
At this moment Ye You and the others were busy escaping in disarray; none of them had the time to worry about Ye Qingtang or the Demon Emperor's heart.
In the midst of the disastrous winds and the earthquake, Ye Qingtang who had been lying in a pool of blood fell into the abyss along with the earth and boulders surrounding her.
However…
In the disarray, everyone failed to notice a golden ray of light that rushed to the falling Ye Qingtang.
Time seemed to stop in that moment.
The falling boulders suspended midair, a silhouette flashed past and a man stood atop the suspended boulders.
The man was handsome to the point of suffocating; he wore pure white clothes that swayed along in the wind. He silently stood by Ye Qingtang's dead body, looking down at the bloody gaping hole in her chest. The familiar feeling that he knew was gradually dissipating.
"I found you."
His pleasant voice was torn by the violent winds. He crouched down slowly until he was kneeling beside ye Qingtang's corpse. He stretched his slender fingers as he lightly stroked the area of the bloody wound. Seeing a strand of vapor raising from Ye Qingtang's chest, the man started to condense a translucent heart in the hollow of his palm.
But just as the heart was about to come in to being the vapor became disorganized. The heart in the man's hands separated into many tiny stars and flew into Ye Qingtang's body where they disappeared.
Astonishment flashed through the man's eyes, "So that's why…"
The next second, the man pointed a finger down towards Ye Qingtang's brows. Golden rays quietly entered her brows…
