Magic. It brings countless phenomenon into reality through spells and incantations.

It is something that exists naturally as part of the life of those who belong to the wizarding world.

As young as they are, wizards and witches interact, learn, and use magic. They are sometimes saved by magic, sometimes get hurt, or sometimes hurt one another. For the wizardkind, magic is such a convenient kind of power.  

However, that perception is different for Leonard Taylor.

Ever since he was young, Leonard's “eyes” perceive magic as numerical formulas dyed with colors.

He is able to see what kind of effects would be produced when combining different colors and different formulas.

The more advanced the magic spell is, the more complicated it is, the more beautiful it is with various colors intertwining within the formulas.

Leonard was captivated by that beauty.

“I want to see more beautiful formulas! I want to create them!”

Leonard suddenly thought when he was young, and ever since, he spent everyday experimenting with magic and potions.

In the beginning, his parents felt that it was only an adorable game played by their son, but seeing Leonard begin to carefully point out the disadvantages of the magic spells and how to improve them, Leonard's parents could only recognize that their son's talent was for real.

“Leo will absolutely become a great wizard! ”

“I agree. Our son's talent is unprecedented. As his parents, we must lead him properly so he would not choose the wrong path. ”

And after several years, the name Leonard Taylor became something that no one in the wizarding world doesn't know about. Developing and improving various kinds of potions, improving the efficiency of magic spells, development of new spells. Leonard's “eyes” overthrew the common knowledge about every field of magic.

But no matter how famous Leonard became, he did not mind the eyes of the public. All that he pursued was “a more beautiful magic formula”.

On a certain day of July 1991st

In a certain residence in the outskirts of London

Concealment charms were used in that residence, hiding it from the eyes of muggles.

One owl delivered an envelope to the mailbox and flew away. A woman took the envelope and went back inside the house.

The woman, Ferris Taylor's eyes turned bright after checking where the letter was from.

“Leo〜, we received your acceptance letter from Hogwarts. ”

Erskine Taylor muttered deeply while reading the newspaper in the living room.

“Leo's already at that age huh〜. Time flies so quickly. ”

“Dear, where's Leo? I want to let him know quickly. ”

“I guess he should be in his atelier? Well, I should go call him since it's almost time to eat. ”

There is a dwelling in the backyard of the Taylor residence. However, it is actually Leonard Taylor's atelier, with dozens of times wider due to the use of spatial expansion magic. Erskine entered inside the atelier and called out to his son who was mumbling to himself while moving his hands.

“Good morning, Leo. It's time for breakfast. Also, your mother is excited about something she wants to tell you. ”

“Good morning, Dad. Please wait for a while. ”

Leonard returned his father's greeting without looking back and continued mumbling his words.

After a few minutes, Leonard seems to have reached a point where he could pause his work. He asked his father while stretching out his body.

“Good morning again, Dad. What does Mom want to tell me?”

“Hm, who knows? Well, let's eat breakfast first. ”

After arriving in the dining room, Leo asked his mother what it's all about as they surround the table.

Ferris happily handed him the letter.

“It's your acceptance letter from Hogwarts. Congratulations, Leo! Hogwarts is a very fun place! It's a school that would make Leo an even more amazing wizard!”

Ferris talked about how good a place Hogwarts is, but she started to talk about her student life, so the two males turned a deaf ear.

“As your mom said, Hogwarts is a great place. You'd experience many things you haven't up until now. When it comes to studying, Leo has already enough qualifications to be called a good wizard, but I can guarantee that you can learn about many other things there. ”

“I see. For starters, the professors must be experts in their own fields of subjects, so there is no doubt that it's a good opportunity to learn new knowledge. As a goal, I would like to conduct joint researches with them. ”

Leo was not particularly interested in the contents of the lessons, but considering that it might be possible to have a joint research with the excellent professors of Hogwarts, he could not help but look forward to entering the school.
