“This affair had too many strings attached to it and it’s too dirty. The emperor was scared that it would dirty your ears so he never raised it. But this old servant was scared that the empress dowager would be too worried so I thought it was best to say it out loud. Actually, this old servant has an idea that would hit two birds with one stone. I don’t know if I should say it.”

“Speak, I won’t punish you.”

“If the empress dowager’s aim is to not let the Night Prince to marry the Countess of Rende, I believe the Night Prince won’t blame the empress dowager if the Countess of Rende marries someone willingly.”

“You’re saying …” The empress dowager narrowed her eyes.

The senior aide lowered her head and after half a moment, lowly spoke, “The third prince.”

When Lou Qingwu walked out of the Vermilion Bird gate, she strangely found out that Feng Shiyi was still standing there.

Behind him, a carriage was waiting.

When he saw Lou Qingwu, he walked in front of her, “Miss Lou, please get in the carriage.”

“En?” Lou Qingwu froze.

Just as she was about to speak, she saw the carriage curtains lift up, revealing Feng Yege’s pale and handsome face.

But his eyes were so dark that when the lights from the palace lights shone, they sparkled.

Thinking of the sickly pale face she saw at Renshou palace, Lou Qingwu’s heartstrings tugged.

She suddenly lowered her eyes and didn’t say anything, stepping into the carriage.

When the curtain lowered, the carriage became bigger.

The candles were lit as they swayed with the carriage.

Feng Yege’s eyes were closed from the moment that she stepped into the carriage.

He didn’t say anything and Lou Qingwu was pretending that she was thin air too.

After the last time they parted on bad terms, they were stuck in this cycle.

This made Lou Qingwu’s heart feel a bit stuffy.

She clearly knew that she deserved this but when she saw his pale face and that wound from that night, she couldn’t help but sigh.

If she knew this earlier, she wouldn’t have chosen to take the small path.

First, she saw Shu Yunyan and now she bumped into Feng Yege who hadn’t left yet.

“I heard that your performance was very good tonight.”

Suddenly, Feng Yege’s cool voice broke through the two people’s silence.

Lou Qingwu froze as she looked up, meeting his dark phoenix eyes.

She blanked out and stared at him for a few moments before she realised that he meant the dance of battle and war.

She silently nodded her head, “As a citizen of Dongyu country, everyone should have a duty to do their best for their country.”

Maybe it was because Lou Qingwu’s expression was too serious but Feng Yege’s lips couldn’t help but curl.

The atmosphere between the two suddenly eased up quite a lot.

After the empress dowager learns about Mu Yunqing and Li Xiangluan, the only thing she asks about is Li Xiangluan going to jail for 10 years???? Cold blooded.
