Chapter 159.1 - Missing an opportunity

As the carriage sped past Feng Yege, the curtain flew up a bit as his phoenix eyes fell on Lou Qingwu’s calm face.

His heart suddenly twisted up.

He thought she’d care, but … it was just his wishful thinking.

He walked forward two steps before suddenly thinking about Lou Qingwu’s, “Actually ....”, right before Zi Li came.

He thought for a bit before deciding to ask her again another time, it was too late tonight.

But he didn’t know that after missing this one time, he’d completely lost the opportunity to open up with her, when Lou Qingwu’s heart would be at its weakest.

This missed opportunity would change the fate between the two of them, tearing them further and further apart.

“Master, who was that girl?” Lan Bai had wanted to peek out to take another look but the curtain had fallen down so she could only ask Lou Qingwu.

“I don’t know, but it should be someone … who’s a bit important to him.” Lou Qingwu’s eyes were a bit too calm as she seemed to have only casually answered.

But her eyes flashed dimly before changing.

The warmth in her dark eyes had completely disappeared, “Did you grab the person?”

But Lou Qingwu rejected him, saying she was too tired and that she would talk to him tomorrow morning.

She walked towards the Leaning Wind Pavilion where Thousand Face was already waiting for her.

He’d already prepared everything before leaving Lan Bai inside the pavilion as Thousand Face brought Lou Qingwu out of the Lou residence.

The two people wore white and black, like the messengers from the underworld.

They walked towards a dilapidated house near the capital’s east.

When they reached the front of the house, icy cold fingertips touched the door before Lou QIngwu’s eyes concentrated on it.

Her fingers gripped tightly before blood entered her eyes, making them impenetrably deep.

Around midnight, Li Jingsheng had finally sobered up a bit as he staggered and swayed his way to the side wing of the residence.

Tonight was his wedding night but he wasn’t looking forward to it at all.

The things that had happened during the day, played back to him in his mind.

His grandmother’s clear bias was like a thorn that had been stuck in his heart, from the day he was born.

He was acutely aware of it when she emphasised, “concubine born” and “beneath”.

The more she mentioned it, the more he hated his status as concubine born.

No matter what he did, in his grandmother’s heart, he could never be as good as anyone born from the main wife.

Ah, but so what if she liked the proper born son!

Her most favourite third young master, had already been long dead and buried in the ground!

She’d never be able to see him again!

Just thinking about how Li Ziqing was already dead, gave Li Jingsheng a perverse sense of satisfaction.

He staggered a bit in front as he was about to reach the door.
