Jing Yun Zhao squeezed through the crowd, kicked the speaking eye-sore of a director aside, and made her way to Gan Song Bai’s side in a hurry.

After taking his pulse, she found that it was beating very fast and overflowing with spirit.

She took off her backpack in a rush and stuck her hand in, pulled a ginseng out of her space and quickly stuffed it into the elder’s mouth. After, she pressed on some of his acupuncture points. 

The spirit jade pieces hadn’t touched on the topic of acupuncture yet, otherwise, she’d have used it because it would have more effective results.

Jing Yun Zhao’s actions appeared strange but a few of the doctors in the room still managed to begin to understand her aims.

They had all met her before. Doctor Gan had said that this was his granddaughter that he’d taken in and was a genius in the field of medicine. They had even felt some disdain towards her back then. After all, she was just a young brat, how many years of medicine could she have studied? What kind of genius could she be?

But as they watched on, they became shocked.

While Jing Yun Zhao’s hand movements were inexperienced,  the methodology was superb. Putting aside the fact that she got several acupuncture points accurately and correctly, Doctor Gan’s complexion improved substantially after being poked by her a few times. His breathing began to balance out and there was movement under his eyelids, almost as if he was going to wake up.

However, even though they could recognize those pressure points,  this kind of life-saving method was something they didn’t know about. Now that they have witnessed it first hand, some people who had a certain level of medical knowledge gained some understanding. They couldn’t stop the feelings of admiration they had towards her.

Meanwhile, Jing Yun Zhao had stepped towards where Director Liu lay in a mess as he tried to pull himself up. He pointed towards her and angrily shouted, “Who’s family’s daughter is this? Why is she so uneducated?!”

Qin Zhi Xue had seen Jing Yun Zhao before so he said hurriedly, “Director Liu, I know her! She’s that old man’s granddaughter! She’s an indecent thing to help her grandfather kidnap my wife!”

Previously when Jing Yun Zhao received a phone call from her grandpa, she already knew that something was up. Without sparing a moment, she made Xiang Jin follow her here.

They never thought that hey would be shameless enough to find trouble for an elderly.

Currently, Xiang Jin restrained herself. Jing Yun Zhao was still treating Gan Song Bai so it wasn’t time for them to fight, she would look for a more opportune time to take the initiative.

Qin Zhi Xue kept staring at the pair and didn’t notice Xiang Jin standing within the crowd.

Jing Yun Zhao didn’t pay heed to these two, her cold expression pushing people away. Minutes later, everyone present watched as the old man quietly regained consciousness and coughed up a turbid breath. Mixed within the breath was the colour of blood, even his hands trembled.

“Lass…You’re here…”

The old man had some regrets. He shouldn’t have let Jing Yun Zhao bring Xiang Jing to clarify things. This man was worse than a beast, Jing Yun Zhao was just a young girl and Xiang Jin was also only a housewife, how could they deal with this sort of scoundrel?

“Grandpa you should rest first, I’ll handle this matter. Trust me,” Jing Yun Zhao’s voice was a little heavy and sinister.

After speaking, she turned to look at Director Liu and Qin Zhixue, and a hint of murderous intent flashed in her eyes, “Two adult men like you can really bear to bully an elder! I thought that you two just had no conscience, but now I can see that you don’t have any shame at all either! Qin Zhixue, your decades of life experience was spent being a dog! “What’s more laughable is that there are actually people who believe in these kinds of words that twist lies into truth, full of shit, and are full of loopholes! Jing Yun Zhao’s attitude towards these people was now filled with extreme disgust and loathing.

She could have let the matter be if these people were unrelated. After all, everyone has a gossiping heart, it wouldn’t be wrong for them to stay as bystanders unaware of the truth. But Grandpa Gan had been working in this hospital for decades, there’s no way that not a single person knew of his virtuous character?

Within this group of people were some who had once been his patients or still are. There were also people from the same industry here who had once received his guidance. Yet, they couldn’t reach out a hand in his time of need?

Even if there were indeed some of them who had thoughts of saving him, in the end, none of them took action.

As a person gets older, their body becomes less resilient and tolerant of things. This was common knowledge. Every second of inaction could equate to an increase in the danger to Grandpa Gan’s health, don’t they know this? It was unmistakably because they considered their own self-interests and were scared of becoming involved.

Jing Yun Zhao’s words incited redness in the face of those familiar with Doctor Gan, their hearts also feeling guilty.

Meanwhile, Director Liu was both angry and frustrated, “You’re Doctor Gan’s granddaughter? You have such a sharp tongue and even go so far as to say that we can’t distinguish between lies and truth? This younger sister, your behaviour will bring no benefits to your family…”

“I heard Qin Zhi Xue call you Director Liu, correct?” Jing Yun Zhao’s expression remained cold as she asked.

Director Liu was stunned and involuntarily let out a hum, acknowledging the question.

“So even an idiot like you can become a director? Nepotism? Did you go to bed with the Executive Director or maybe even his wife?!” Jing Yun Zhao showed no mercy.

Saying whatever came into their head? It’s not something that only Qin Zhi Xue knew how to do!

“You’re spouting nonsense! Disrespectful and uneducated! Don’t think that just because you’re still a kid that I won’t dare to hit you! Let me tell you, my grandfather is this hospital’s Executive Director, his wife is my grandmother!” Director Liu raged.

The opponent was obviously just an immature brat so he definitely couldn’t be violent. What’s more, he previously thought that Gan Song Bai was faking it, but as he watched, it was obvious that he was really angered into fainting. If something happened to this old bag of bones then he’d still have to compensate them later. It wasn’t worth it.

“Is that so? No wonder a moron like you can climb to where you are today!”

Jing Yun Zhao paused and took a breath, then she continued on, “As a Director, you must hold a lot of responsibilities, in addition, you’re also the Executive Director’s grandson. I presume that you’ve always been involved in the checking of inventory and the purchasing of herbs? As someone who has selective listening and such opinionated views like yourself, it’d be easy for your subordinates to lie to their higher-ups and keep their own subordinates and colleagues in the dark. Who knows, there might even be something wrong with your hospital’s supplies? For instance, your bandages might be full of germs, or maybe your herbs are actually shoddy goods, things like that. Don’t you agree?”

Director Liu’s expression turned green as he tried to defend himself, “That’s slander! Just because you’re young it doesn’t mean that you’re excused from the law I’ll represent our hospital in court and make you take responsibility for your words!”

“Really? Then what were you doing just now? Qin Zhi Xue is spreading rumours that damaged my grandpa’s reputation and by the looks of it, you can at least be considered his accomplice! Moreover, what slander did I say? Didn’t I just simply voice my concerns and inferences?” Jing Yun Zhao words were laced with loathing.

The man was angered to the point that his entire face turned black. He never expected this brat’s reaction to be so quick.

He understood in his heart that he couldn’t keep using the hospital as a defence. He thought about it and turned towards her and declared, “As Director, I have a responsibility to deal with the vermins within our hospital. Your grandfather stole someone else’s wife, and now their husband is knocking on our doors. Can this be a lie?”

Instantly, the crowd’s gazes redirected themselves onto Qin Zhi Xue.

“Kid, I’m begging you to return my wife to me. I really love her and can’t live without her! It’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have been at loggerheads with her. I promise to properly apologize once I see her, okay?” Qin Zhi Xue pleaded with disguised innocence.
