Pivot of the Sky Chapter 94: Reincarnation (2)

After arriving at the lake, Amon threw out a bone and it immediately changed into a bodiless ship with nothing on it, because Amon had put all the belongings into the Ventussalte. Schrodinger jumped onto the boat and found a place in the front, with Amon coming after carrying his staff. This scene was quite familiar as if it had happened in their life before, the day they went to look for Bair.

Amon was a little distracted. It had been quite a while before he found someone was missing. Then he turned around and shouted, “Metatro, what are you waiting for? Get on the boat!”

Metatro was totally stupefied, and couldn’t say a word with his jaws off. He only came to himself on hearing Amon, “My god! What kind of artifact is that? It’s more amazing that the magic boat!”

Amon waved his hand, “That’s not important. For me, it’s only a tool. Get on the boat. Carry your scepter. Today you are gonna sail it.”

Metatro jumped onto the boat and wielded his staff to control the invisible space. Amon had could have been able to control it when he was still a third-level sorcerer. For Metatro who had achieved to the top of fifth level, he had mastered the knacks soon. It was an easy thing for him. That was one of the world’s most wonderful artifacts. It was gliding on the surface like a flying fish.

Metatro felt like he was like a king driving it. He shouted at Amon, “My god! Can this boat even fly?”

Amon answered, “Theoretically, yes. And it’s easier to control compared with the magic boat. It has a large space. So it needs tremendous space power to fly. So I don’t think I can do it now.”

Metatro wielded his scepter and said, “But I feel like it’s gonna fly now. This feels good!” He specially made the boat float above the water in a winding route, like a bird flying in the sky.

Amon also found it interesting. He smiled, “Be careful. They might be monsters in the water.”

The bodiless boat was sailing on the sky-blue lake, with ripples waving around. The water was clear enough that they could see fish of all sizes swimming over. The wind was not big. The cotton-like cloud was overlooking the prairie and mountains. Actually they were quite far away, maybe hundreds of miles away. It was the lofty Assyr Plateau over the mountains in the distance. Around the lake was a prairie, but it was a jungle where monsters lived beyond the prairie.

When they arrived at the center of the lake, it became much colder and there were almost no fish. Metatro felt a little strange, “How come there’s no monster? I wanted to do something with this magical boat.”

Just as he spoke, Schrodinger meowed drowsily. Then a few giant fishes jumped out of the water and swam away in a hurry. Amon took up his staff and said, “As you wished. Your show time!”

Metatro also sensed something huge in front. The moment he wielded his scepter, a huge and long tail with black green scales was thrown at him. It swung its tail out of water without making too much blare in the air. And in a second it had already been above their bodiless boat.

It reminded Amon the scene when they were in Euphrate River. Then he alerted Metatro, “It’s Humbaba’s offspring. Be careful!”

Metatro had already fought it back without Amon’s order. It seemed the giant tail was stopped by something up in the air, and made kind of glass-breaking sound. A huge half-transparent ice shield was congealed in the air, but then broken into pieces by the powerful impact. He was worthy of Amon’s disciple. That time Amon also used this first to defend, because that was the quickest way.

Once the ice shield was broken, Metatro already jumped in the air and chopped down with the sword in his right hand, which was exactly the same as what Amon did last time. The only difference was that Amon used a staff while Metatro used a warrior’s sword. The sword wave chopped hard on the serpent tail.

But only a few scales fell off. There was kind of yellowish light coming out of its body, which resisted that chop of Metatro, a fifth-level warrior. Two powers clashed in the airs. Metatro got crashed down to the deck. Even the boat sank a little and flew backwards for nearly a hundred feet.

Amon cried, “I told you. It’s Humbaba’s offspring. It has infinite power in water. You can’t use force.”

After keeping his feet, Metatro said, “Is it also a servant with nine heads? I can’t even cut off its tail, let alone its nine heads.”

Amon said, “It had only one head. The nine-head one is Humbaba. If it’s him, I wouldn’t risk your life. Body arts to defend, and magic to attack! Now show me how you are gonna combine both of them.”

As it drew back its tail down the water, an ear-splitting strange roar came from deep in the lake, like the thunder or the bull. And then big waves were billowing like boiling water over a hundred feet away, then two giant and ugly heads emerged from the water. Its mouths were big enough to swallow an adult. Its tongue was like the bloody chains. It was glaring at Metatro with bowl-like eyes. Apparently it felt great pains just now.

Metatro cried, “My Lord, it’s two!”

Amon cried, “Not two. It’s a two-headed one!”

Metatro said, “Ah? Didn’t you say it has one head?”

Amon cried, “Don’t talk nonsense. You are not its match in the water. We should try to go ashore first.”

Metatro was indeed a tattermunge maniac. Even now he still had the mood for chitchat. But he didn’t lower his guard. Every time its giant head emerged, he would sail the bodiless boat backwards. Since they were in the center of the lake, it didn’t make a difference where they went.

But the moment he started engine, a huge move aroused from behind. Numerous ice cubes were surged with the huge waves. Metatro growled whole waving his staff, then the onrushing waves disappeared like nothing happened. And their boat jumped over hundreds of feet away.

But still their bodiless boat got damaged, making rumbling sound. Fortunately it was a spatial artifact. It would have already been smashed into pieces if it had been a real boat. The drastic shake even made Schrodinger make a few jumps. It glared at Metatro like it was his fault.

It seemed this cat was not afraid of the monster at all.

Metatro didn’t have time to argue with a cat. He even had not time to gabble. That huge tail emerged right after the waves. Its heads were over a hundred feet away, while it could sneak attack them from behind with the tail. One could imagine how big the monster was.

Missed again! The servant apparently got irritated. A huge arc-shaped wave was formed on the surface, and the serpent came above the water, totally surrounding their boat and encircling it fast. It tried to smash their boat with its tremendous body.

Metatro wouldn’t let their boat get entangled. He growled while wielding his scepter. A mountain-like wave immediately surged from above the water and threw their boat up in the air. And it directly fell on the body of the serpent. The serpent then turned into a solid ice layer and froze it for the time being.

Their bodiless boat flied over the serpent and got down on the water. The drastic shaking made Schrodinger roll on the deck. Without standing steadily, Metatro kept wielding his scepter. A heavy gale sprang up, and their boat was heading to the shoreside rapidly.
