Chapter 73- Objective

Well, I would have never expected that the young girl in front of me would be an S-Rank Adventurer. Judging by her pressure alone, I can easily conclude that I am not her match, and I won’t be able to win if I fight against her.

“No way, you're an S-Rank Adventurer!. Oh, um, i’m honored to meet you, Amarnasu-san.”

When I said so to Amarnasu-san, she made a sulking face.

“Headhunter, it’s fine if you call me Minarisu. I don’t like being called Amarnasu, understood?

Hmm, there is probably a story behind it.

Well~, I shouldn’t bother about it too much for now.

 

“Understood, Minarisu-san. If it’s like that, then please call me Yuma as well. It’s a little embarrassing to be called Headhunter.”

“Umu, then i’ll call you Yuma from now on.”

“Thank you very much. Then, let’s quickly move on to the question. Did Minarisu-san come to this city to help with the Great Invasion?”

“Yes, I was having Sake as usual in Nashissu, when I heard about it from Guresu of Forxx. So I can here to kill some boredom by rescuing the city, ja~”

Did you drink Sake with that body of yours? You look like you wouldn't be able to handle it.  But still, to help with the Great Invasion just to kill time huh, that certainly seems like something an S-Rank adventurer would say.

Minarisu-san continued,

“And so, I arrived at Forxx today, while thinking about when the Great Invasion would occur. I had some thoughts on this as well, so I went to the City Lord to confirm them. We just came from there now.”

Minarisu-san looked at me, and then started to laugh.

For some reason, I have a bad feeling welling up inside me.

“I never expected that there would be an Adventurer who could take down an Orc King or a Gorotorisu. Moreover, you even took down a Cyclops alone. But still ja~,  to do all these objectives within just a few days after becoming an adventurer is very interesting. It would impossible if I said I wasn’t interested in you.”

And so, Minarisu-san came closer toward me.

Yup, her face is really cute.

Now, it’s time to ask the troubling question I had.

 

“Minarisu-san, I am really sorry to ask this even though it’s rather rude, but how old are you this year?”

 

This was the question I had on my mind up until now.

Minarisu-san face is completely that of a little girl, but Guresu-san calls Minarisu-san Oba-san. Moreover, Minarisu-san keeps talking in a very old fashioned way, it doesn’t fit her figure at all.

The answer came back quick

“My current age this year, huh? Hmm, I stopped counting after I reached 150 years since it was quite troubling to keep count.”

 

That answer exceeded my expectations.

Your KIDDING RIGHT!? Although I was expecting something like this, but this is just too out of my boundary of expectations that you're over 100 years old. Is Minarisu-san, by chance, a Legal Loli!?

 

Is it normal for humans in this world to live that long!? That’s when I looked at Minarisu-san’s face and noticed one particular difference.

The ears of Minarisu-san was much more sharper than normal people’s? And then I remembered about the people who had pointed ears. I guess this was because I used to play a lot of games in my previous life.

 

“Umm, Minarisu-san. I hope that I am not wrong, but is Minarisu-san an Elf by any chance?”

 

When I asked that question to Minarisu-san, she said,

 

“That is half true. It’s true that I am an Elf, but I am different from the other elve's. I am a High Elf, ja~.”

 

High Elf? Come to think of it, there was such a thing in the game. It was in one of the games that i used to play, it was a world that had a setting with Elves and High elves, but what about this world then?

I should listen properly.

 

“I'm sorry to ask you this Minarisu-san, but could you please explain to me the difference between an Elf and a High Elf?”

 

Minarisu-san, who heard this, looked at me as if I was unusual.

 

“I wonder how long it’s been since someone has asked me such a question. It’s such basic information, that every child in this world would know the ansewer, ja~. Well~, anyways, High Elves belong to Rare class species of the Elves.”

 

Oops, I shouldn’t have asked that. Well, I am not a person of this world anyways~ If I don’t know, then I can only say it without telling a lie. I am not really confident that I would be able to escape from an Oba-san who is over 150 years old, but there is now way that I would be able to win against her……..

Moreover, it is the same setting in the game as well. Is there no difference between the two other than that?

“Minarisu-san, are there really no other difference between the High Elves and the Elves?”

 

“There is. Firstly, the High Elf is born with 10 times more magical capacity than a Regular Elf. Because of that extreme amount of magical capacity, the growth of the body stops at the stages of a child. Thanks to that, the High Elves usually look like Chibi Characters, ja~”

(TL: It says Chibi, so this would fit more properly into its english form.)

 

“Minarisu-san, are there any other High Elves besides you? ”

 

“Yes, there are five more besides me.”

 

Ho ho, there are that many huh? I would certainly like to meet them once.

 

“Are they Adventurers as well?”

 

“Nope, only me and one other person are Adventurers. The rest live in the Elven Village as they did since the olden days. Well~, the Elven village is on the Rotus Continent, but I cannot confirm it for you.”

 

Rotus Continent? I see, this world is indeed divided into several continents. I never paid any real interest in it though, so I don’t have to worry about such things until now.

I wonder if there is a name for this continent? I’ll investigate this matter when I have some free time.

 

“I get it now, thank you for answering my various questions.”

 

And then, I lowered my head to Minarisu-san.

 

“Sure, this was only things that most adventurers already know though, so it’s fine. I didn’t think that there was any strong ones here that would be able to take care of this. But Yuma, since you are here, then I guess you can handle it.”

 

As soon as she said so, Minarisu-san turned around and started to walk back toward the exit.

 

“Oba-san, what will you do now? Since the Great Invasion has already been thwarted, will you return back to Nashissu?”

 

“No, I intended to leave a while ago, but not anymore. I think I will stay in this town for awhile. During which, I will observe the actions of Yuma.”

During the time that Minarisu-san was about to leave, I completely forgot, but I should appraise her.

Then, for the first time, something unexpected happened.

The Appraisal doesn’t seem to activate on Minarisu-san for some reason.

Seriously…., it’s true that Appraisal works only if the level difference between the user and target. Then, that means that the level difference between Me and Minarisu-san is extremely huge. Or, is it possible that Minarisu-san has some skills that counter Appraisal? This is the first time this has ever happened, it’s a little shocking. And then, slowly, Guresu-san came over and said,

 

“What’s the matter Yuma?  Are you a little hung up on the words of the Ba-san? OR MAYBE!? You wouldn’t have fallen for Ba-san in that single meeting, right!?”

 

HA HA, it seems that Guresu-san is going places with his imaginative thinking. Ok, let’s cheer up. On the other side, it seems good that I was able to get a target now. From now on, i'll try hard to catch up to Minarisu-san.

 

“No, I was just a little shocked about the difference between me and Minarisu-san in terms of battle capacity, I'm ok now.”

When I said so, Grace-san made a serious face,

 

“Yuma, i’ll advise you on this, but that Ba-san is not just an ordinary S-Rank Adventurer.”

 

“What do you mean by that?”

 

“That Ba-san has the track record capacity to easily earn SS-Rank, but she considers it to be quite troublesome. Moreover, the strength of that Ba-san, probably in the entire Adventurer’s group, they don’t exceed more than five people.”

 

Hmm, if what Guresu-san says is true, the goal that I seem to have set seems to have no end.

My motivation has started to burn now, I will definitely catch up.

 

“I see, I get it now, thank you very much for telling me this Guresu-san. I will definitely catch up someday.”

 

“Ha! If you told anyone else about this other than to me, then they would have laughed it off without a second thought. Since it’s you we’re talking about, then you might just be able to do it, so I don’t think that it’s such a bad goal to have. So, go ahead Yuma, you can do it. ”

 

“YES!”

 

After another few minutes after talking with Guresu-san.

I learned that the A-Rank party that had come to support Forxx against the Great Invasion left as soon as they heard that the Great invasion was thwarted, and they have already returned to Nashissu.
