Chapter 45 – Weapons Shop

 

………Hmm, it's morning already?

 

“Fu~u, I slept well, really well.”

 

 

By looking at the scene outside, it hasn’t been that long since the sun has risen.

Shall I go back to sleep?

No, The early bird gets the worm, let's get up.

 

“For now, the only major thing to do today is meeting the guildmaster at the guild. What shall I do until then? I am quite bored, so shall we just take a stroll through the city?”

 

 

We~ll, let's go have some breakfast.

So, I thought as I got up from the bed.

I get ready and head downstairs and toward the dining hall on the first floor.

 

 

When I came to the first floor, as expected, there were not that many occupants.

Well, it's still early in the morning.

When I was thinking such things, I heard a familiar voice calling out to me.

 

“Yo, Yuma. Good morning. You’re an early riser huh. Come on, have a seat and let’s have breakfast together.”

 

Its Iguru.

 

“Ah, Good morning Iguru. You are an early riser too, huh.”

 

We exchanged greetings and found a place to sit down and I sat opposite of Iguru.

 

“That’s true. We adventurers do get up early in the morning. I don’t think there is any adventurer who would sleep-in until noon.”

“Well, that is so, isn’t it.”

 

When I was speaking with Iguru, Sari came over when she spotted us.

 

“Ah, Yuma-san and Iguru-san. Good morning to you both! I am going to go get breakfast ready right now, so please wait for a moment.”

 

As expected, Sari is very energetic in the morning. That’s a good thing.

 

“Ah, Thank you very much, Sari.”

 

She returned to the kitchen with a huge smile on her face, was it because of what I said?

 

“It's such an envious thing right in the morning. I also want to find a good girl like Sari-chan for myself.”

 

 

Honestly, from what I can see, Iguru seems to be in the category of ikemen (TL: Handsome shining men)

 

“It’s seems like you don’t normally get up this early, Did Iguru receive a request?”

“Ah, today I am going to receive a request for the subjugation of some high goblins.”

 

Ho, I have heard of goblins, but not of these high goblins.

 

“I know about goblins Iguru, but what kind of a monster is a high goblin?”

“You don’t even know about such a thing! Well, I guess you're still a new adventurer after all.”

 

 

It can’t be helped.

It still hasn’t even been a month since I have arrived in this world.

 

“Well, high goblins are the same as a goblin. They are just a bit larger and they have a small horn growing from their head.”

“I understand. What about their strength, how strong is this monster?”

“Ah, the strength is a little higher than that of a goblin, it’s not that big of a problem. And it is a D-rank monster.”

 

Hmm, then I guess it’s not going to be that hard if you keep moving around.

 

“Then, Yuma what are your plans for today?”

“Aaa. Well, I am supposed to meet the guildmaster at the guild later today. It is to decide on the rank increase due to my subjugation of the Orc King.”

“Are you serious, that’s awesome! Yuma is C-rank right? It’s possible for you to easily upgrade to B-rank, maybe, you might even get upgraded to A rank!”

“A-rank huh……come to think of it, how many A-rank adventurers are there total? ”

“A-rank huh. It should certainly not be that much, Even if all the guilds are taken into consideration, then the number still might not go over 200.”

“That’s unexpectedly really low”

“That’s true. There are lot of people who are trying to get to A-rank, but unfortunately, most of them end up dying along the way.”

“Iguru, are you not aiming for A-rank?”

“Me? There was a time when I put in all of my effort for it, but now, I have already given up. It is most likely that C-rank or maybe B-rank is my limit.”

“Is that so?”

 

While I was talking to Iguru, Sari brought us breakfast.

 

“Sorry for the wait. Then, please take your time to eat, Ne~”

 

 

Sari went back to the kitchen as soon as she placed down the breakfast.

Meanwhile Iguru,

 

“Alright then, let’s dig in!”

“Alright”

 

Breakfast was completely cleaned up in a matter of minutes.

 

“Fu~u I am so full~ Alright then, Yuma, I am going to go on ahead.”

“Ah, alright, see you soon.”

 

 

And so, Iguru and I separated …… is what I thought.

Iguru came back, as he had something to say,

 

“I forgot that I had to say something to you, Yuma, ze!”

 

What is that you wanted to tell me? What could it be?

 

“We~ll, if it's Yuma, then it's nothing to be worried about, but still i'm going to tell you. Recently, there has been reports of a Ripper, it's better that you know about it. There have already been quite a few people who were attacked already.”

 

 

Oh, Ripper huh.

That’s quite a dangerous story. Its scary.

 

“Alright. I will keep that in my mind, thank you.”

“It's alright, yo! Well, if it's you, I don’t think that you will lose out to a Ripper! Then, i’m setting off. See ya!”

 

 

As he said that, Iguru left the inn.

Ripper, huh. I will try to keep that in the corner of my mind.

 

Now, since I have already had my breakfast. What shall I do now?

It’s still too early to go to the guild. How about going to the weapons shop to look at their inventory?

 

Let's talk to Sari when she comes out from the kitchen before I go.

 

“Sari, the breakfast was delicious. I am going out for a bit, but I will be back in time for dinner, so I am looking forward to it.”

“Ah, Yuma-san! Please go ahead! Please don’t go if it’s too dangerous though! Please try not to get hurt.”

“I know. Alright then, i’m going.”

 

And then I left zinnia.

Now, it's been decided to go to the weapons shop.

Where is the weapons shop again……?

For now, I have plenty of time. Let's look for it slowly.

 

 

While  I was searching for the weapons shop, I heard a conversation happening behind me.

It’s not a conversation that is going on about me, but still let’s listen in on what it is about.

 

“Have you heard? There has been sightings of a Ripper, ze!”

“Are you serious, yo! Which number and who is it this time?”

“This time, it’s a woman again! There is a woman in my party too. So, i’m seriously scared about it.”

“Well, the guild will definitely capture him if they notice his movements.”

 

 

Hmm, the Ripper demon matter sounds more unusual than I thought.

 

After a few minutes.

 

I found the weapons shop finally.

I knew I could do it……

 

“Umu, it’s an old-fashioned store. If you bump into something accidentally, then you will definitely get hurt.”

 

 

Let's stop feeling scared and check it out.

But, this shop is the only weapons shop that I could find even after searching for a while.

We~ll, let's go in for a bit. Maybe, there might be quite a few wares that have cheap prices.

And so, I opened the door and walked into to the shop.

 

 

The shop is filled with various kinds of weapons, which makes it look all the more beautiful than from the outside.

But, there is no-one to speak to.

 

“Excuse me……. Is there anyone here?!”

 

 

When I called out about three times, An ossan came out from the back door of the shop.

He looks amazing, He’s got a huge beard.

But, it's considerably messy. He staggered a few steps when he came this way.

 

“I can hear ya. It’s been a long time since a customer has shown up, well, you’re the only one who has come in a while to a stale shop such as this. I guess you have here after a while, have a look at the items available freely.”

“Thank you very much”

 

 

Then, then let me check out the products.

I hope there is a good weapon here.

 

After a while.

I looked everywhere and my eyes spotted a weapon by the side.

 

The length of the weapon is longer than that of a knife, and shorter than a sword.

Is there any meaning in rounding off the tip?

The engravings look like vivid blood……

Let’s appraise it for the time being.

  

{Demon Ripper}

It is an ancient cursed knife bearing a horrible curse and sharpness.

The knife can increase its sharpness by absorbing the blood of its victims.

The sharpness can also be increased temporarily by feeding it magic power.

However, if the one who touches this weapon doesn’t have sufficient magic power, then it will drain the life of such a person.

  

What is with this weapon……

The sharpness and performance itself is extremely high, it’s definitely among the highest ones that I have seen until now.

But, this is a cursed weapon, I feel quite curious about the curse.

For now, let’s take it for the time being.

Please don’t curse me and drain my life.

 

When I tried the Demon Ripper,

Hmm, I don’t feel much changes anywhere.

When I look at the status the truth was…… the MP was decreasing slowly.

Oh, I see. If I keep this in my hand then it will continue to drain my MP gradually.

When I was holding the Demon Eipper, the old man came toward me.

 

“You! Are you still fine while holding that thing!?”

“Yeah. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with my body at the moment.”

“That’s a relief! One time there was an adventurer who also picked it up! He was pleased with the weapon at first due to its tremendous sharpness, but after a while, he started to gradually weakening and eventually died. Did you get what I said?”

 

 

I see. That person did not have MP probably. Therefore, in place of MP, it started to consume his HP and he eventually died.

 

“I don’t have such problems at all. And I would like to buy this weapon, but how much is the price?”

“Ah, If you're ok with such a thing, then you can have it alright. Even if it stayed here,  no-one would buy it.”

“Are you serious?”

 

I GOT IT!!

 

“Ah, But promise me just one thing, can you do that? Don’t you die because of that thing alright, do you understand me?”

“Understood. It's alright. I am not a person who would die because of such a thing.”

“What! There is a person in this world who would say such things casually?”

 

Well, that’s true.

 

“Then, I will take my leave since I have other things to do. Thank you very much for your patronage.”

 

 

And so, I left the weapons shop.

Alright, I got a steal! I feel satisfied!

But, certainly if you have the Demon Ripper on you, then it will consume your MP gradually.

Let's put in the item box for now, when I don’t have any use for it.

Let's try not to use Demon Ripper along with Sign Isolation, for now.

 

 

Alright, it’s almost noon.

 Let’s head to the guild a little early.
